Generations Fall of Cybertron Bruticus Amazon Exclusive Giftset?

Are you one of the many eagerly awaiting the release of the Generations series Fall of Cybertron Bruticus, but dreading the inevitable short-packing of one or more of the Combaticons making it hard to finish your Bruticus? Well, worry not, because along with the "game accurate" giftset coming out of the San Diego Comic Con this year, there's reports coming to us from UK fansite Fullmetal Hero that Amazon will also be offering an exclusive giftset release for Bruticus. It's expected to be the same colors as the retail release, only offered in a gift box rather than individually.

This naturally might be a good way to get hold of all five without risking the disappointment of not being able to find the fifth man to complete the gestalt, especially if the SDCC exclusive is out of your reach or you prefer the more vibrant colors of the mass retail edition.

Check out the original news report here.

Well I guess that saves you the time and effort to go and find the individual Combaticons. If you want them that is.

Yesssssss
Bendimus Prime
Very cool. If I can't get the SDCC version for a decent price, this saves me the trouble of getting them on their own.

Also, the colors are not based on the G2 version, this is the G2 version:

This version is based on Energon Bruticus Maximus:
Kaijumaster
Right you are sir! post ammended!
guard convoy
will get this giftset ontop of the retail one probably, along with the SDCC one

i am determined to make this thing a success
MechaV
I certainly hope that's the case. I'd love to be able to buy the whole set as a team and not have to pick them up individually.
StayingInTheBox
Okay ... so this is the mass retail released one, but as a boxset exclusive through Amazon? Shit man, this thing already has numerous outlets for purchase it's already a success.
Kaijumaster
Personally I'm getting the SDCC color, and hope we get a repaint of Vortex down the line.
Agent-GHQ
Absolute garbage!

This. I will have 3 of each version. I want hasbro to see that combiners can be a success.
Girl Pants
I may go for this over the hunt to get him in 5 parts through retail. Although there is a certain antisipation, savoring and glory, to the hunt. I know I always come to love the individual members more when I get them one at a time whereas if I get them all at once I tend to favor the combined form and never get to know them individually.

Of course, I'm aiming for the SDCC set too.

By all that is sacred I will have a FOC Bruticus painted in those colours, even if I have to do it myself!

I would absolutely buy a G2 Bruticus, even though I would never buy the Energon version.

This fills me with false hope that the retail version will be closer to the in-game version, and the brightly colored version is Amazon exclusive.

Wow...I forgot how ugly the 90's toys' colors were.
RedAlert Rescue
I hope the 3rd parties are preparing to make leg and shoulder extentions for Onslaughts torso mode and a bigger helmet for the super mode and a decent gun and new hands would be nice too.

Sadly for a lot of people it was confirmed that the SDCC exclusive would be the more accurate deco. I feel bad for those people who don't love fugly colours.

*Looks at G2 Bruticus*

*Looks at pictures of Energon FoC Bruticus from Botcon, with even brighter green plastic*

Uh, yeah, we've come a long way.

Holy eye bleeding atrocity - I can't tell which one is worse.

All displayed samples so far have been hand painted - it's really hard to tell how bright they'll be in person because of this.

I REALLY can't see that high gloss, ultra contrasty paint tone making through the casting process. (Not to say I'm gonna like the end result, just saying I HIGHLY doubt the finished product can be that physically blinding without paint.)

It's coming across a lot brighter in those images than when I saw it in person at Botcon.

I can see that - glossy contrasty paint PLUS camera flash.

Here's the picture I took with my $89 Kodak -no flash.
There's certain to be better pictures on the board here somewhere.

That green and yellow just radiate any ambient light that's near.

First awesome picture I've ever seen of this thing.

I don't know why Hasbro keeps using that oddly proportioned shot for all their promos where it looks like the camera is below the figure.
barrelks
If it is the same price as the retail one or less, I will probably go this route if there is no difference in colors. Not sure how many of this figure I will need.

Yeah, it's like they're trying to make it look like he's a giant and he's towering over you, but the angle, the bright colors, and the Photoshop all detract from the toy.

It's sad that my picture with my crappy camera looks better.
You can actually see that Bruticus' face is pretty cool looking.

I'm starting to warm up to Neon-Bruticus' colors, if I can't buy the SDCC one, I guess I'll buy this one instead.
BScorpinok75
Hoping to get the SDCC version but I if $$ allows I may grab this as well.

Agreed, I actually feel like I've got to see the figure properly, finally. A hell of an improvement over those awful promotional images!

What really strikes me about the figure now is how much better the torso looks in that photo - it looks much beefier and better proportioned than in the promo shots. I'm still 50/50 on the arms, but there's bound to be plenty of alternate transformation options to tweak them when we get it in hand.

Anticipation level increased!

TrueNomadSkies
Not gonna lie here. I really like that red on Vortex.
Optimus Prime
Good idea for people concerned about completing the set. I plan on skipping the regular retail version altogether now that we know there will be a game-accurate version, but otherwise I'd pick up this set.

Honestly, Hasbro needs to reach out to the community, some of whom take some amazing shots in great poses, and just straight up hire them.

Whoever they've got taking the photos now does a horrible, horrible job. Sorry for whoever's job that is, but it's just now we're finally getting a good picture of this guy?

That figure even looks transformed properly there, the arms don't look so separated from the body like you see in those promotional images too.

That picture made me go from "Figure looks like crap, I'll stick to FP Bruticus" to "Wow, I think I'll pick one up."

BTW....im wondering on the scale of this thing...lol....i remember seeing a pic of Bruticus next to a MP10 prime....and it was just slightly taller...would you be able to confirm or is this thing really ginormous like, lets say, a supreme class unicron...

That green is a simply gorgeous colour. Love it.
Angelwave
Ooohhh...I wonder if they will go whole hog on this and give us all of the individual tech specs on the back of the box, like they use to with the G1 giftsets back in the day. That would be phenomenal.
Karhukjnsi
Definitely gonna get at least one of the the SDCC set, no fucking questions (maybe two).

But I'm likely also going to get one or two sets of the standard retail (depending on how many SDCC ones I'm snaggin').
JamesBenjamin
So are there now two color schemes or three?

There's the game accurate SDCC muted colors
Amazon bright colors
But wasn't there another scheme where Vortex was gold?

I'd like to say he's ginormous, but he's just a little bigger than MP 10.
He'll be tower over the FoC Deluxes though.

Two -the early colors were abandoned.
Atomatron
1 sdcc to display in combined mode
2 retail for bot and alt mode display

gah! I can't believ this hasn't been front paged. I crave News Credits like sweet sweet Ambrosia.

Then drink up! Drink that sweet Ambrosia!

This is a pretty good way to get the set - I'd love for the giftbox to be a throwback to the style of the G1 combiner giftboxes, but chances are it'll be the same basic style as the SDCC one. That seems to be the way for Combiners to be released as a set just now, looking at that and Piranacon.

Oooohhh....is that the reason why some people throw a tantrum when they don't get them? Because of the ambrosia?

Don't jinx it! I want an old school type of box with all sic tech specs on the back!
Griffin73
I will only buy this in the original colors. If SDCC is the only place to get it... I am out of luck.
Hasbro... you suck!

I hope they don't mind pegwarmers and low quarterly sales.
Grimlockimus
Okay, so just to clarify

Game colors = SDCC Exclusive

G2/Energon colors = Amazon Exclusive

and then the individual Combaticons will be sold at retail.

I don't know what's worse, the fact I'm going to have to buy the SDCC Bruticus for those colors, or the fact I'm addicted to the art on the packaging that I'm going to have to buy the retail ones too?

Eitherway, my Wallet is dying.

Seriously people, this bruticus is NOT from G1 hes from the aligned continuity you cant expect him to stay the same forever, maybe we should save judgement till their release huh?
