Generations Arms Micron Gaia Unicron Giftset & Year of the Snake Omega Supreme

By way of user 9981 on HK-TF, we have a pair of rather interesting pictures to share with you right now.

The first, being released under the Generations banner, is a Transformers Prime two pack consisting of the upcoming Gaia Unicron and Arms Micron Optimus Prime. The two as previously teased can combine, this giftset release gives you both parts of the combiner in a single box. It's also a great new look at the Gaia Unicron figure, our clearest so far. Given the Generations banner, it is entirely likely this will be another Asian market exclusive.

Second is a new image of the Chinese New Year special, the Year of the Snake Omega Supreme. The new image is not giving a lot away - Energon Omega Supreme is shown in the image, unaltered from his release in 2004, although it is possible given that this is the stock photo from the Energon release that this is just a placeholder.

Courtesy of 9981 on HK-TF, looks like Prime is going under the Generations banner for what I assume is another Asia Exclusive two pack.

Also a new image of Year of the Snake Omega Supreme in there, looks to be a straight reissue right now, but the picture might just be a placeholder.

Yeah my bad, same time news posting as Dr. Prime except I was more "holy crap a good look at Unicron" when I clicked on the link. Looking forward to that toy a lot.

Looks like we might be getting our first Combiner in Prime... and there's no sign of it ever coming here.

Though normal Omega looks nice.

I just realized that future Generations releases in Japan will have probably have AM. Thwt's nice Takara, just keep on spitting out funner gimmicks while Hasbro leaves us with whatever we get.

Unicron looks like it'll make a decent Maximus Cyber Verse toy for Hasbro.

Whatever happened to the Hasbro and Takara/Tomy partnership when it comes to the toylines? Between Unicron, Jet Vehicon, Breakdown, etc all being Japanese exclusive releases, it feels like there is less communication/common ground than ever.

I might bite the bullet and preorder that giftset, since Hasbro doesn't really seem interested in catering to anyone who doesn't want endless repaints and repackages. (Although admittedly TT does its fair share of this, but when a (formerly) major character in the caroon like Breakdown ends up only as a cyberverse figure, something seems really off about the whole situation.)

Aaron Archer said at either Botcon or SDCC that Breakdown at least won't be (as it'll be too expensive to remold the AM parts IIRC)

That Uicron looks awesome. Too bad there's no word on a HASBRO release and we already have two toys confirmed as Takara exclusive.

I'll just be sitting over hear, actually standing up for myself by not buying transformers toys until they stop ripping me off with constant downsizing, exclusives and having to order from overseas.
