So want Starscream, Magnus, and uh... "Air Raid"

Assuming the price stays the same, I see these new Generations as a sign that the worst is over in terms of smaller TFs and that ones designed from now on may be bigger. UM, Sideswipe, and Air Raid are OP, Jazz and Shockwave with new heads AND new weapons. That might be their way of bridging the gap until they can design larger TFs, remembering that TFs take about 2 years or so from start to finish.

What the heck? The name on the package says "Air Raid", but the bio and tech specs are full-fledgedly Fire Flight's. Seriously Hasbro, why?

Either way, can't wait for these guys to come out.

He was originally named Fireflight and he is clearly a Cybertronian Fireflight, but they must've changed his name for kids that didn't pay attention to how he looked in WFC/FOC and want an in-game character.

At least the Construction Master is in the right colors

Geez, more cardback and less packing bubble? Just shrink the card back and drop the price by a buck or two.

I've been wanting a deluxe sized Magnus for a long time. A little sad he's going to be shorter than Wheelie though, LOL!

Nice, if RK is getting FoC Deluxe Wave 3 next week, that means BBTS will be on track to get them either that same week or the week after.

Now where is Voyager Skyquake... seriously getting worried as we haven't heard anything about him yet and we're quickly running out of weeks in November.

I was already planning on getting Magnus and Airflight, but Kickback looks... pretty awesome. And I'm not an Insecticon fan... maybe he'll be my Suda 51 stand-in Transformer (Suda 51 is a game designer, head of Grasshopper Studios).

Wasn't he first all red, when still named Fireflight and later Takara showed Air Raid in all black and now this Hasbro figure is a mish mash of both?

then when is this wave due being its Nov 2012?I bet we dont see the grimlock wave until march of 2013.

No he was the same colors he's always been. He was meant to be Fireflight but for whatever reason his name was changed to Air Raid. TakaraTomy has kept the Air Raid name but created a color scheme more aligned with that character rather than Fireflight.

Unfortunately not; He was only listed as Fireflight in his first reveal, every previous convention and the Takara version all listed him as Air Raid.
I think its stupid; He is CLEARLY Fireflight.

OK, thanks! I was too lazy looking for the old pictures. I have to say that, from what I remember, I like the Takara version better. I might be tempted to get that one later maybe.

But first I'm waiting for Takara's Ultra Magnus. Or maybe he should better be called Infra Magnus. He's a bit short for being called Ultra Magnus

It's safe to say at this point that Hasbro purposely does this. Magnus and Starscream are very popular characters so why get them right the first time when you know people will by him anyway....?

Take WFC Soundwave for instance... Personally most felt that he should've been a voyager class figure in the first place or at least a larger deluxe mold.

Now enters the voyager FOC class Soundwave with gimmick who throws everything else in the CHUGS lot out of scale (it's even larger than Classics Prime, then so was G1 but we should be past this stage by now)

But they know people are going to buy it regardless since it's Soundwave. So it's safe to say that they'll eventually do the same thing with Optimus, Magnus, Megatron and Starscream.

Thus it's not in good business to get it right the first time so enjoy the munchkin versions for now...(prices may increase)

The poor plastic quality and smallness of the figures in the previous waves has put me off these figures.

I'm pumped.

What is up with the artwork? Almost all of them are the character grabbing for something..

I'd have been happy to see Soundwave as a Voyager from the outset as long as Megatron, Shockwave and Optimus had been too. But as that was not the case having Soundwave as a stand alone voyager (with Blaster & Soundblaster) makes them seems little more than an excuse to release new minions for them all. I'd play with the new ones but not with the other FOC/WFC toys but with Unicron trilogy /Universe Voyagers which they are more in keeping with perhaps. If only as it means you have the option of Blaster and Soundwave not being the same mould now.

At least the Old Deluxe FOC Soundwave is an OK size and isn't a tiny Deluxe. I do hope that Takara make Soundblaster as a deluxe or Hasbro do it as part of a boxed set. as That would have lots of a appeal to me - more so than the Voyager ones which I'm not overly bothered about them - I'll buy them for the minions but i'll perhaps try to get them as sale items. I might not even bother with the Takara FOC/WFC toys shiny as they are - Starscream has some merit to me but the others I'll have to decide if I want to spend my pennies on them or on more interesting 3rd party toys.



Even odder The Japanese one is actually the same sort of colour as Airraid so it looks like names aside the Hasbro one is Fireflight and the Takara one Airraid if you want them to be.

But I guess we will know for sure how similar they are when they actually ship.

I only want Magnus and Starscream, but Sideswipe's head doesn't look as bug-eyed as it did in the initial pics. I may still try to do a head swap with the classics version. Does anyone know if FOC Jazz's head will fit on the classic Lambo bros body?

Robot Kingdom's Facebook page has some pretty awesome posed shots up. All the weapons seem to disassemble into multiple smaller ones, except Sideswipe's which "only" reconfigures a bit.

I've been going back and forth on "Fireflight" but I may get him and let his awesome swords, given to other figures, make up for his own mediocrity.

Starscream, Magnus and Air Raid shall be mine.

I personally think these look great and am excited for there release, I have my case on pre-order. If Air Raid and Fire Flight are supposed to be the same mold with different paint I'm thinking I may pick up an extra and repaint him into Air Raid so I can have both.

Aggghhhhh, new pics make me happy but also make me want these MORE. And I ALWAYS get the new toys last, I just found my first Magnus and Thundertron day before yesterday, and I haven't seen Airachnid.
I LOVE that Starscream and Kickback, though.

Honestly, does anyone else believe Hasbro is going to make ANY more FOC toys? It's been a LONG time since there's been any news of new ones. I've lost hope for the rest of the insecticons, or the Dinobots, or Megatron, etc.

Kickback's back packaging is there, but not Starscream's front.

I'm really digging these guys and their big-arse weapons!

They look pretty cool.

I like the fact that Hasbro finally is putting thought back into the weapons.

BTW, is SS coming in a voyager size? Why do I feel like I saw that at one point. I mean, I guess it doesn't really make sense, since all the FoC/WFC figures have been deluxes till now, but still with the release of Grimlock and the SoundWaves/Blasters, I thought he would as well.

And no, we haven't seen a voyager Statscream.

Yeah, I'm in for all of these. They look great. And while I DO miss getting null-rays or original style weapons, getting actual in-game weapons is awesome. Bravo for that.

That's really cool how Magnus' sword snaps over the Prime rifle to create an even larger sword.

This is definitely a must have if you're a fan of FOC. Keeping my case on preorder at BBTS

Magnus is a buy, especially if someone is doing upgrade parts for him.

Starscream looks... okay. I love the geared combined weapon. I may have to steal that for someone else.

Sideswipe is still cool, and I need him for my RID display (the only GHUG version of that mold that I have is Red Alert).

Strafe is just crazy awesome with those swords and the gold plastic... but what's with the upside-down symbol? That's annoying.

Kickback was my first TF, and he has a combining weapon, so I'm sold.

... damn it, I may have to order a case at this rate.

Now *this* is how you do a weapons gimmick.

Screw MechTech, they need to incorporate something like this into the Prime Voyagers ASAP.

I just got even more excited about these. Seeing great looking weapons is a huge plus after a lot of unimpressive weapons in the prime line. I can't wait for my pre-order to come in.
