The early looks at the Combiner Wars online retailer offerings of Brake-Neck and Slingshot, um, Quickslinger continue! Don’t be fooled by the name, Quickslinger is a repaint with new head sculpt giving G1 fans their Slingshot and a proper 5 man Aerialbot team.
Superion, like Menasor, was initially shown with a new 5th member to the team and the fans called for the OG guys to return. Well they have, and Quickslinger will join his brothers later this month. He will be released along with Brake-Neck on May 22nd at select online retailers (see the list after the break).
This will be part of Hasbro’s Transformers May Mayhem campaign, which sees a slew of Transformers related promotions throughout the month of May. A full list of May Mayhem events are also listed after the break.
Hasbro was kind enough to send out a copy a little early for us to run through the motions with, so check out over 70 shots of him in action with his Aerialbot brothers after the break! Key Shots

They're up now at TRU.com and the TRU ebay page
Autoboty
They were allegedly 'online exclusive', but there have been offline sightings around the US.
PrimeTarget
Dang missed both of these guys. We're they in stores or only online?
OctaneNotTankor
My wallet. It is even less safe than I thought.
Starscream Gaga
Do you mean the Kreon combiner? Otherwise that'd be awesome.
NotRamjet97
Looks like it'll be Bumblebee Supreme: a combiner made up of Movie Bee, Animated Bee, Prime Bee, G1 Bee, with
as the torso.

I really like the white on Slingshot. Need to build a superion with four of these.

So what was the exciting product reveal then? I was expecting Optimus Maximus since we know the associated Legends wave is coming in June?
Or was that the SDCC Devastator with chromed bits?
Transmorph633
Oh good at least they didn't reprint an older issue in the set.

I myself don't mod anything unless I have extras for MOSC, I do have a set of the exclusives unopened and untouched. I assume you're referring to the red on Wildrider, and if so, I wet sanded and polished mine off. I left the red only in the inset of the car body, like they did for Dead End.
The swaps with that extra Dead End really went far to making Wildrider way more G1 accurate and setting the bot mode apart. I do oddly like the red thighs and fists as an option option as well as the black thighs on Slingshot, so, I'm glad I was able to get an extra set of these for MOSC.
I do want a spare Motormaster for MISB so I can paint my first one Black, for a more accurate Menasor.

nice job. some work put into yours. I've never been one for "modding" because I like original from the company no matter how incorrect or terrible they may be….but started to add somethings with the xtras ones I got. This encourages me more. I added some paint to Motormaster's sides and made a trailer for him. Made new name badges for the boxes of Slingshot/Wildrider for my display ones and will probably try and get rid of the gray on Wildrider's sides (find a close paint). Made a few Youtube vids: miragexl007

fun. love posing these dudes in different positions….besides that, I think AB is a great toy/character.

I agree 100% with all of this. Having the correct lineup for each combiner goes a long way in making a figure go from good to great. Now that you mention it, I think the symmetry is what made a big difference in my Superion.
Also the difference in color schemes makes Firefly and Quickslinger seem like totally different figures.
Alpha Bravo is a great stand alone figure. I love the posability, the head sculpt, the color scheme, the missile hands, and the helicopter mode just to name a few things. But in hindsight he definitely doesn't fit as an Aerialbot w/Superion.

Repaint with a new head aside, for whatever reason, it feels like a totally different mold. Yeah the alt modes are the same, but paint makes a difference in distracting your eyes.
As an arm he makes Superion look symmetrical, even in G1 Slingshot and Fireflight looked somewhat similar as limbs, even if just as silhouettes. If the CW Fireflight had just gotten new wings without the extended tips…that would have made such an aesthetic difference.
Same thing with Wildrider, to me, Menasor just looks better with Wildrider, and more symmetrical.
With the parts swaps I did to mine, they look even less like their mold mates and more like their own character, Alt modes can't be helped too much, it would have been cool to see Dead End maybe have a slight mod of the Streetwise tooling (removal of brush bar and lightbar) for a more unique look, but whatever, I actually like the car modes of those two.
I like Alpha Bravo, he looks good as an arm, but he's no Slingshot. Off Road even looks damn decent as an arm, as a leg he adds too much of a knee for my taste because his hood doesn't fold down. But I have not one desire to add Rook to my collection, he looks like ass in both limb modes, his alt mode is a box, the best mode is Bot mode, and even then the way the fists are made just looks bad to me, with no holes in the hands just the knuckles.

I posted this in the Quickslinger review thread and it's worth mentioning here too:
This figure is DEFINITELY worth getting. The posability is off the charts. The mold is just gorgeous and is very G1-esque.
I was originally on the fence about this guy. I ordered all of the wave 1 Aerialbots w/Alpha Bravo. Then I ordered Quickslinger.
My Aerialbots w/Alpha Bravo arrived before Quickslinger did. I assembled Superion w/Alpha Bravo as the left arm in place of Quickslinger. I was kinda "meh" about Superion. Something was off and I couldn't figure out what. I didn't like him as much as I thought I would.
Then, Quickslinger arrived yesterday. I made him Superion's left arm and trust me when I say this, he made a HUGE difference. Not sure how something so small could matter so much but, Superion went from "meh" to fantastic w/only one small addition.
DEFINITELY get Quickslinger if you have the chance. You won't be disappointed.

The stunticons look like a bunch of street thugs that combine into a bigger thug. Aerialbots look like ivy leaguers with ascots hanging off their shoulders. I know who my money's on.

Those were the ones I was thinking of, couldn't remember who was making them. And yeah, for $10, they should be worth it.

Just saw Nonnef's feet. Nice looking for only $10. We may just have a winner.
