The Combiner Wars Protectobots have been released in Asia and are making their way into the collections of early adopters everywhere, including yours truly. Like the second wave and the wave 1 repacks, the third wave of Combiner Wars Deluxes come with pack-in comic books, and these comics have extended bios on the backs of them.
You can check out the bios attached to this post, to learn more about the Combiner Wars Protectobots. There’s some great backstory in there – such as how Blades honed his fighting skills in the pits of Kaon; or how Rook is a recent graduate of the Cybertronian Military Academy, expert in tactics but still green in field operations; or how Streetwise was once a spotter for a two-man sniper team, and joined the Protectobots in out of weariness for violence, in search of a better way to settle conflicts.
In addition to images of the long bios, we also have attached to this post some images of the comic covers with their awesome artwork, and the Designer Desk sections from the backs of the comics, which include some cool insight into the design process including some ideas for how to equip your Rook with all four fist / foot parts – it seems that the “Hulk Hands” thing was intentional!
Check it all out attached to this post.

It's cool they even bothered to extend their bios.
I've always saw Prime Predaking as the Transformers Kratos but that too would be cool.
what?
General Magnus
I want Rook because he can do a cybertronian impersonation of Kratos with those lion gloves.
Soundwinder
Ugh. I am so excited for Rook.
Seriously, these new characters really have been killing it. And Rook is easily my most anticipated CW figure after Fireflight.

"Incorporate some car hood design cues" on Streetwise's chest, eh? Nice to see that confirmed as deliberate. See you soon, Prowl.

…dude, g1 Blades is like the exact opposite of RB blades in every way.
The only similarities are:
They're both autobots
they both turn into helicopters
they both are in a team with a fire truck and a police car
they're both named blades
no real personality similarities. the only design similarity is they both turn into helicopters.
Exodus
Looking forward to these.

Thanks for these, Sol Fury!
I must admit that I hope someone makes some high quality scans of the bio pages for these (and the Wave 1 re-releases) much like what was done when Wave 2 came out. As someone who isn't likely to be getting the U.S. versions of the figures, it's nice to have copies of these for my archives.
Dinobot Swoop
My thoughts exactly! Afterburner from Groove, one of the Aerialbots for Strafe and one of the Stunticons retooled for Lightspeed, possibly another Silverbolt remold for Scattershot (here's hoping for a new mold, though) and some new guy because Afterburner can't become a limb anymore.
And if we do get a full Combaticon team, it'll be interesting to see if Swindle and Blast Off are remolded from previous CW figures or (here's hoping again) new molds.

Rook is a big give away for NoseCone

Taylor Swift "what"-ing shouldn't be meant for any thread!

He'll probably become Brawl as well.
Sumner Sturgeon
I'm…gonna assume that was meant for another thread or something.
Anyhow, I really love how detailed these bios are. I hope it's possible to incorporate at least some of it into the current comics, at least as far as the parts that don't contradict established lore. If and when the Protectobots stick around after the Combiner Wars event, I'd like to maybe see some of these details come up.

Or just a giant fist, GaoGaiGar style.
EDIT: Oh I see, like his vehicle mode. That is neat.

I wish they would do extended bios for the toys in other scales that don't get comics included (since those would include both bigger and smaller toys than the deluxe range). Just toss them on the official website or app, or even IDW's site. It wouldn't be the first time Hasbro's site had extended bios, I think the Cybertron line had them due to those codes on the keys.
