Rumor - Generations Legends Gnaw & Brawn set for Release in 2015?

Posted on 01-25-2015 at 02:56 PM by Mechafire under Generations / Classics
gnaw_1226773130 TFW2005 boards member griffin-of-oz has brought something interesting to our attention today - Bidoofdude of reportedly wrote to Hasbro asking if Generations Legends Gnaw with Gnash and Brawn with Mudslinger would still be released. We had last heard of these figures before via leaked listings, but we haven't heard of them since, leading to some speculation that they may have been cancelled. However, Hasbro responded that they are indeed still planned to come out, and will be released some time in 2015, likely as part of the Combiner Wars line-up.

You can read the exchange below:

I've noticed that the Generations Legends Class figures for this year skip numbers #11 through #17. Is there a reason for this? Is it related to the listed Legends Brawn with Mudslinger and Gnaw with Gnash that seemingly didn't happen?

Could we be seeing Brawn (and less importantly, Gnaw) as a Legends figure in the Combiner Wars toyline in the coming year, as he is the only 1984 minibot without a figure yet?

To which Hasbro responded with:

There are plans for the distribution of these characters in 2015, unfortunately I do not have an exact date of arrival.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but if true, we could very likely be seeing these figures at the rapidly-approaching New York Toy Fair.

TFW's Combiner Wars Thundercracker In-Hand Gallery

Posted on 01-21-2015 at 06:46 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Thundercracker-Robot-23 Ever since All Hail Megatron, IDW's version of Thundercracker has been one of the most interesting characters in the Transformers comics, and it's a depiction that's earning him not one but two new toys this year. Today we're taking a look at the smaller of the two, the Legends class Thundercracker.

This Thundercracker is based on the F-22 design that was designed by Guido Guidi for IDW, and it's a straight-up redeco of the excellent Legends class Starscream mold that was released in early 2014. It's a mold that features a simple but pleasing transformation, and a decent range of articulation. The deco is excellent, and arguably works far better on this toy than it did on Starscream.

While not as awesome as Powerglide or Bombshell, this Thundercracker is an excellent example of how to do a redeco. Legends class Skywarp to finish the Seeker trio, please, Hasbro?

Check out the gallery at the link below and see what you think of this fun toy:

New Transformers Product Details From Hong Kong Event - Titan Devastator, Reisssues, Masterpiece

Posted on 01-20-2015 at 02:54 PM by Mechafire under Generations / Classics
Hasbro_Constructicons_Devastator Via actoys member kidzhao, we have some new Transformers product information that emerged from a recent Hong Kong toy show, including details on Generations Titan Class Devastator, upcoming G1 reissues, and 2015 Masterpiece info. Cybertron.CA member xueyue2 was gracious enough to translate the text for us:

美版:美复G1铁甲龙、三尖头套装、闪电和大火车套装、录音机和感知器套装(磁带好像是钢钎和犀牛,感知器 的肩炮有特殊用处类似能看幻灯片)
Encore version (Platiumn?) tripticon, conheads, blitzwing & Astrotrain bundle, Perceptor & Blaster bundel

IDW Devastator is indeed Titan class, but because it's facing all the age groups, so single robot's transformation is not much. The demo versino is hand-made unfinished product, eblow can't move. There is a Defensor will be revealed in late of 2015, so far only Hotspot is showed, and just so-so quality. Scout class has Warpath.

日版:会有很多D级人物,都不是主线人物所以没细看,ps擎天柱和md老威不错但站立有些困难。组合方面增 加电镀和还原单体成员G1配色。
Japanese version: (nothing important, I won't translate. )

MP: This year will release 5 MP. And the MP25 is the same one as the pre-ordered on Taobao (I remember that Ironhide/Tracker on Taobao? Might be Tracker) It comes with "洛尔" ( a human?) and Blaster.
MP21G doesn't have Spike, but just a jetpad, the price will be lowered because of that.

Discuss these new revelations and check out an alternate translation after the break!

Possible Combiner Wars Optimus Prime redeco, Rodimus and Classics Bumblebee Release

Posted on 01-17-2015 at 05:18 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Ab5u415 The UK Toy Fair is due to kick off next week, but via an image posted on 4chan and reposted to imgur we have a look at a poster that is destined to decorate the Hasbro booth. The poster shows art from both Robots in Disguise and Combiner Wars - but among the familiar art, there are two new pieces shown.

The first one to draw your attention to is on the left of Robots in Disguise Grimlock. This robot, with a white head, is the combined mode of a redeco of Optimus Prime - compare the head design to Ultra Prime in the bottom right corner. It seems as though we are getting a white Voyager Optimus Prime redeco in our future. Could this be a new Ultra Magnus, or someone else given the fact that Ultra Magnus was previously rumored to be getting a Leader class toy?

Next, look closer at the artwork of the white-headed Combiner, and you'll see that Combiner Wars Blackjack is getting a redeco or retool as Rodimus - and he'll serve as a chest for the white-headed Combiner (which by extension, might be Magnus after all - Lost Light crew combiner, anyone?)

Lastly, take a look in the bottom left. This is some new artwork of the Classics Bumblebee design - suggesting the little bot might be getting a release somewhere - though it also would not be the first time for Hasbro to produce some new to promote a line using a character not getting a new release in the line.

A big thanks to TFW2005 member Gearshift for the heads up!

TFW's Combiner Wars Bombshell In-Hand Gallery

Posted on 01-17-2015 at 03:59 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Bombshell-Robot-13 We're carrying on with our galleries of the Combiner Wars toys with a look at the new Generations Bombshell figure! Bombshell here is a Legends class figure in the Combiner Wars line who is an update of the Generation 1 Insecticon.

This new Legends class Bombshell is a great looking little figure. Right off the bat, his size and shape really evoke the look of the original Generation 1 figure, and Hasbro truly nailed the likeness to the original character with this one. He's got an excellent range of articulation, with the only thing that is missing being an articulated head. There's hints that at one point some kind of weapon mode might have been considered, like with Powerglide, given the gun-arms and 5mm peg knees, but nothing is mentioned in the instructions.

Overall, Bombshell is great and another strong release in the first assortment of Combiner Wars Legends. He's great either stand alone, or as a companion piece to last year's Skrapnel figure - now all we need is a Kickback to round out the trio!

Check out the gallery and see what you think of this Insecticon:

New Fan Built Combiner Poll Announced by Hasbro!

Posted on 01-15-2015 at 04:19 PM by Mechafire under Generations / Classics
16e8dd0a-c549-4bd2-a521-fa4488f5c0ec_zps7f1655db Following on from the previous Fan Built Bot Poll which resulted in the creation of the Windblade character, Hasbro has put out a new press release announcing a new poll for the fans - and this time, it's for a fully-fledged combiner! That's right, voting in the Fan Built Combiner Poll will, in the end, result in a team of original characters that will come together to create a new, original combiner character for the Generations Combiner Wars line.

The dates have yet to be announced but soon, the Transformers: Age of Extinction app will be updated into the official Transformers brand app. This is where voting will be done, rather than on their website like last time.

Each round will last one week, and then afterwards, the results of the round will be shared, and a new round will begin. There will be three rounds of question in total. A full reveal of the Fan Built Combiner is expected to come later this year, with the combiner character being made available as a toy in 2016. The components will be compatible with the other Combiner Wars toys, so yes, you will be able to mix-and-match. Unfortunately, there is no word yet if the combiner will appear in the IDW comics, but it seems like a fair bet.

Combiner Wars Wave 2 Deluxes to Include Comic Books?

Posted on 01-15-2015 at 01:17 PM by Mechafire under Generations / Classics
transformers-combiner-wars-deluxe-class-air-raid-6-action-figure-hasbro-toys-pre-order-ships-march-3 Back when Combiner Wars was first announced, it was said by Hasbro that the figures would continue to include the IDW comics, as was the case in the previous Thrilling 30 line. However, many fans were baffled to find that the first wave of Combiner Wars figures not only lacked the comics, but also had multilingual packaging.

Fortunately, it looks like that may not be the case for wave 2. TFW2005 boards member Nevermore has uncovered some new images of the figures, which both include the Combiner Wars comics and lack the previous multilingual packaging.
