Generations Skrapnel and Reflector - In Hand Images!

Posted on 04-08-2014 at 04:31 AM by Superquad7 under Transformers Generations Classics 3.0
Skrapnel-Reflector-Legends-01 TFW2005.COM member Acesan dropped by to show us some in hand images of the recently-released Generations Skrapnel and Reflector! These images give us many angles of these figures, as well as a comparison with the original Generation One Shrapnel, showing us that these figures are very similar in size. Also, Skrapnel is very faithful in comparison with its G1 counterpart, and (as member Jalaguy notes) the Reflector weapon accessory transforms into a gun that looks very reminiscent of the original grenade launcher!

With these figures now showing up in the Philippines, will a US release be far behind? Let's hope not!

Be sure to check the images mirrored here after the jump!

Generations Asia Exclusive Decepticon Specialists Galvatron, Astrotrain and Octane Set Images

Posted on 03-14-2014 at 06:04 AM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
15a1e9fedd59f90948faf3d77575317f The Transformers Asia website has updated with images of the Transformers Generations Decepticon Specialists set. The set includes Classics Astrotrain, Universe Galvatron and Universe Tankor / Octane in revised decos. The three Decepticons in the set each have new paint applications, with metallic purple on Galvatron. Astrotrain is based on his Henkei release, but with metallic purple paint rather than chrome. Octane seems to be largely unchanged from his previous releases, but is a "best of both" blend of his Henkei and Universe decos.

The set is due out in Asia on 25 March 2014, and comes with a Decepticon themed earphone cap plug.

Possible First Look at Generations Arcee?

Posted on 03-12-2014 at 11:48 PM by ORIO under Transformers Generations Classics 3.0
Arcee-comic Earlier today, Transformers More Than Meets The Eye issue #27 was released. Part 10 of the crossover storyline, Dark Cybertron, may have provided us with our first taste at an upcoming Transformer toy release from Hasbro via fantastic artwork from Alex Milne. Long time fan favorite and female Autobot Arcee debuted a new body in this issue. Her new look is strongly reminiscent of her Generation 1 body, but with a more updated feel and a darker shade of pink/almost red. Is this an indicator of the toy we'll be seeing in wave 5 this year along with Chromia? Not necessarily. But, with the way IDW's Dark Cybertron has been working in characters with toys either on the shelves or about to be released, it could be the real deal.

Take it with a huge grain of salt at the moment, but feel free to have fun and speculate on the 2005 Boards.

TFW's Generations Autobot Whirl Gallery Now Online

Posted on 02-20-2014 at 04:13 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Whirl-Robot-20 Our latest Transformers Generations toy gallery is now online! Available for your enjoyment today is a look at Transformers Generations Autobot Whirl, who has just started to arrive at US retail.

Autobot Whirl is a great release in the Voyager class. He is a very Generation 1-faithful update complete with stickers to reproduce all the Generation 1 stickered details, but if you dislike stickers, he looks perfectly good without them.

Articulation is good, Whirl has some excellent movement in his shoulders and elbows. His hips and knees also boast some good articulation but take note that the upper hinge on the silver part of the legs is extremely stiff out of the box.

Those who dislike the Movie aesthetic might be disappointed to see that Whirl has “chicken legs”, though they suit the design and are accurate to the More than Meets the Eye comic. Also accurate to the comic is the head design, which is a very pleasing touch.

Whirl comes with a small arsenal of weapons including two missile pods, triple barreled machine gun and a Nul-Ray cannon. Each weapon has a selection of posts and C-clip connectors, allowing you to attach them to Whirl’s different modes and arrange his weapons loadout however you desire.

Overall Whirl is a nice, fun toy. He has three modes to transform into, including an intermediate “heloped” mode, which itself can be arranged with the robot arms deployed or folded away. The helicopter cockpit opens as well, in another nice tough. He’s out now at retail, and well deserving of a purchase, especially for those who are fans of the More than Meets the Eye comic book where Whirl has a starring role. Take a look at the gallery, linked below, to see for yourself.
