140.00!!!!! what the hell.
grimlock1972:
holy hell thats expensive!
rattrap007:
I think it is an ok price. Didn't Rhino charge $40 or so EACH season? and that was half a season each. $140 for the entire series isn't too bad.
Embryoyo:
total nerdgasm

i am so pre-ordering this!
Spongezilla:
That's twice the amount I thought!

Guess I'll have to stick with singles.
Angelwave:
YIKES!!!!

Although.....adding up the Rhino silver boxes from when they were initial released years ago, could add up close to that. But at least the sting was taken off when the were released one at a time.
UltraMagnus3786:
i have a perfectly working set from China, complete with the option of Chinese voiceover and subtitles.

i'm curious to know what special features on are this set.

yet, despite the price and the fact that I already have a complete set, i feel myself wanting to swoop down on these like some predatory bird...
Dran0n:
$140......... to much.
OptimusSolo:
140 is cheaper than I thought it would be - I am pre-ordering this FOR SURE!!!!!! I cant believe people are complaining about this price - youd rather shell out 30-50 bucks for 1/2 of each season!!

I'm getting the GI Joe set too!
brianstowell:
Think about what you'd pay individually:

$30 per boxset. Seasons 2 and 3 being split into 2. So $150 total. PLUS this includes shipping. Which for a pretty decent sized, heavy set like that would run you a solid $15-20.

Calm down, kids. I'll buy it soon.
Bgrngod:
I wonder if this set will ever be seen in a retail store or if it will be online only?
Soundwave2:
do you get billed immediately for the PO or when they ship?
Oric:
I don't know why anyone is bitching about the cost.

Individually each of these DVD sets will be 30 dollars with the season 2 divided in two parts. That is 120 dollars before you even begin with exclusives. There is quite a bit extra involved in this set and it is geared towards the fan, not the typical consumer.

140 dollars is entirely fair, that is 1.50 per episode and that is after the work thats been done on this package. 140 dollars is a steal. Hell the motion picture on blu ray goes for 25 dollars. The rhino releases won't stand up to these in the slightest and if you were gonna go find them now well... good luck.

Even the chinese set retails near 100 dollars so going on this side of the world that is pretty fan fucking tastic.

It's cheaper than I thought too. I figured it was going to be close or around $200, and $140 is so worth everything you're getting. Think about all the extras

Just pre-ordered this....now...the waiting game

I was expecting it to be higher.
dilectus:
Does this include the Headmaster series or any Japanese stuff?
Johnator:
That is actually a pretty decent price when you consider the breakdown of how much a season costs. Consider it preordered!
Atlas:
I am gonna go ahead and get this since I never got the rhino sets. Really to me this price isn't all that bad compared to other series sets of this size.

Nope, here is what it says in the email

If you have paid with a credit card please note that we don't charge your account until your order has physically been shipped from our warehouse. In addition, when your order ships we will send you an e-mail to let you know that your order is on its way
artiepants:
I'm curious, has there been any word on the sound effects? I remember back when the Rhino sets came out there was some controversy over aspects of the sound design being altered...

does the movie count into the episode count (wasn't it broke up into the 5 part season premier for season 3?)

good to know, consider it PO'd
Starkenator:
I bet it will sell for $99 on Amazon. I did a search and did not see it yet but it will not be long!

You really think so?
OrionPaximus:
I knew this wouldn't be cheap. All you had to do was look at Shout Factory's other collector box sets. I believe the Matrix boxset is exclusive to Shout Factory.
Waverider:
This is not a bad price. For those saying this is to high of a price? How much do you expect this would be for a 16 DVD set? $20?

I want those magnets. I want to amaze my friends with the power to wipe their credit/debit cards.

???
It's cheaper than the old Rhino sets added up together.
tobuttica:
Too bad it doesn't come with the Transformers: The Ultimate Guide. I've been looking for that and it's super ridiculously expensive. This set is pretty kick ass though. They should have made it a smooth 150 and threw in an exclusive figure or something.
AMG:
Awesome looking set, $140 for 98 TF episodes (plus bonus material) seems reasonable to me.
Maverick Hunter Christian:
Price did seem really steep off the bat, but I remember what the Rhino sets were going for when they were released, so yeah. Pre-order'd. Can't wait!
Sidewayz:
Pre-Ordered.

Completely worth the price.

I was expecting a little more than that like $175-180. So this is a good deal for me. Now if GI Joe is the same price I will be one happy guy...
AutobotAssassin:
although I'm only missing both sets of season 2 from rhino, I think I may buy this new set and sell the other 3 rhino sets I have. I totally missed out the Joe release so I will be picking it up as well. Now all we need is thundercats and silverhawks.
InfernoX:
I'm holding off until we see how much it will be on Amazon.

Joe set is $145. If you click the preorder button for the TF set, it's on the bottom of the next page. You can add it to your cart already, but I canna find the dedicated page. Good price for both.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero DVD Release

"Under construction".
Solrac333:
That's the price of Henkei Skywarp and Thundercracker! This is more worth it. will get.
_Galvatron_:
$140? Ugh.

I will wait until these are put on sale for $100 or so. $140 is too much.

I wonder what extras/special features are on these? For $140, I expect a pint of Peter Cullen's blood and Chris Latta's soul that speaks a loud on command.
G1Wheeljack:
Wow, expensive. I'll probably just end up getting Season 1 only.
Master Megatron:
I'll probably stick to the individuals. They fit on the shelf.
Golden Age:
Bought!

I wouldn't wait. These are listed as "While Supplies Last" and I imagine that any that make it to the secondary market are going to run upwards of $200.

Oh please! This hobby is getting ridiculously expensive. The *ONLY* thing that should be expensive is a MIB original vintage G1 figure that's 20+ years old. All this Botcon, Japanese Henkei & E-Hobby exclusive crap plus $150 dvd sets is complete BULLSHIT! They know we love Transformers & they're taking advantage of us. Plain & simple!

Oooh watch out for the secondary market! Better blow all your money ASAP before the big bad secondary market gets you! C'mon man! I don't like it when people use my passion for Transformers as a weapon against me. That's not cool!
plowking:
Had it been $100 shipped....I'd have been all over it.

Guess I'll stick with my wooden box set that I got years ago for $98 shipped....until the price comes down
Embryoyo:
Just curious... does anyone know how many Matrix of Leadership Sets they are making?
Sense it says "while supplies last" I imagine they don't have a shitton of these being made.
It be pretty cool if they were numbered though I highly doubt they will be.
Runamuck:
$140 for a complete series, plus extras is a damn good price. Don't know why people are complaining.

I will wait for other places to put them up, because I've never dealt with that particular site.

The site is the official Shout! Factory page for the box set. If I'm not mistaken this set is an exclusive from Shout! Factory through SDCC and the website.
OrionPaximus:
If you're going to SDCC you may want to wait. Shout factory have by their own description a limited pretty "neat" gift with purchase.
