 | | | Transformers Encore #11 and #12 Revealed - Skywarp, Thundercracker, Metroplex | | Posted on 04-07-2008 at 12:07 PM by Deefuzz | Our friends at BigBadToyStore.com have made yet another update today revealing what the next two Transformers Encore releases will be. The Encore #11 reissue will feature BOTH Skywarp AND Thundercrakcer, and it is slated for an August 2008 release. The preorder price is $69.99 and can be found here: Transformers Encore #11 - Skywarp and Thundercracker
Encore reissue #12 will be another coveted G1 item: Metroplex! The preorder price for Metroplex is $84.99, it is listed as having a September 2008 release, and the listing can be found here: Transformers Encore #12 - Metroplex | | Credit: ultraq of the 2005 Boards! | Views: 1,600 |

Wasn't there a theory that Encore and the Movie were kinda connected as far as characters that were selected to be reissued? Perhaps this is a bit of foreshadowing? TC & SW in TF2? Also, there was talk of Metroplex being built in TF2? Or is it late and I am tired?
Night Flame:
The more I think about it, the more likely I think Trypticon is. He's been released relatively recently as Gigastorm, and would only require minor remoldings to get back into Trypticon shape. If they also had Scorpy around somewhere, my grails would be completely complete. The base-bots were always my grails, since back when they started coming out.
But if they managed to somehow re-build the Dinobot molds on top of the basebots? Yeah, that'd be it. The only other thing that could get me excited is a true reissue Sunstreaker. But for now, the focus is the basebots. And heck, grab me a Skylynx too. Keep the big-bots coming!
Anyone think there's a chance Sixshot will rock its way back out again in Encore?

Because remember kids: Hound is definitely lost, Soundwave is at the bottom of the sea, KO makers killed Predaking, Star Convoy is too obscure, Megatron has no international market, nobody likes Ironhide, Metroplex is too big, Wheeljack/Mirage/Sunstreaker is broken...oh, wait.
Encore Dinobots are just as likely as anything else at this point. I will be _very_ surprised if we don't see at least Grimlock before Encore winds down. | wow, can't tell when something is said in jest much, can we?
since i guess i have to be terribly serious here, if there's one thing i've learned... oh, about 5 years ago, it's that takara is patently unpredictable. that said, i think the discussion was centered around a giftset of all 5, which even in the most naive fan's mind has to be considered unlikely. but please, whatever you do, don't mistake that opinion for me not wanting to see it.

Whoops, didn't read the post immediately above this one. Sorry.
MagnusPrimal:
Both of these are preordered, as is Omega Supreme.
Next, we need Fortress Maximus!
And the Dinobots.

My brother has an original one. I also never got a Black Zarak so that would be great in addition to a Grand Maximus! Zapp Brannigan:
I <3 Takara Tomy.
How tall is Metroplex relative to some of the other taller bots like Predaking and Omega Supreme?

Those two could have been packaged together just like Skywarp and Thundercracker. | My guess is because they're fairly common and it forces those who only need one or the other to complete the set into having to buy both.

Just idle questioning and speculation, since I really have no idea about the workings of those companies and don't know whether anything put out by E-Hobby in the past was later reissued by Takara/TakaraTomy.

I had a buddy who owned him when we were kids and I remember even at that time thinking he was sort of short for a city-bot in robot mode. Didn't detract from his awesome in city mode, but he'll surprise you with his shortness. Lots of bulk, not much height.

I think they're just making it easier for someone to get all the three of the Encore jets because they may not be able to sell as well individually after Starscream.
DINOBOTT:
Make the Dinobots about 1.5 times bigger than the original molds- put them in a giftset- I would hate to think of how much I would pay for it.
SPLIT LIP:
I wouldn't get any hopes up for Dinobots. Remeber, it's been stated they can't be reissued because of lost and damaged moulds.
Takeshi357:
Yeah, Metroplex isn't all that big. In fact, the base mode is pretty darn tiny, even for minibots. Micromasters would seem to be the proper size for him...
However, he does have the whole Scramble Power thing. You can connect any of the Scramble City-type gestalt robots to him (the limbs in robot mode, the central bots in base mode).

Anyone think there's a chance Sixshot will rock its way back out again in Encore? | im also thinking that the upcoming TF collectors club piranacon set quite reasonably sets up the possibiliy of an encore sea cons release. any of the last 7 years reissues are a possibility, im sure aftre reissuing six shot, UM etc that takara would have held onto the moulds, knowing the popularity of reissues.

Basketball Jones: Is there any possibility that the previous E-Hobby release would prevent TakaraTomy from releasing Ramjet and Thrust in the future?
E-Hobby also released SW and TC.
Even if they did not, the answer is still "no". Those figures are Takara's property, and E-Hobby was merely chosen as the exclusive retailer.
Easterling Capt:
the seekers are not E-hobby. They are con exclusivs. They are merely relesed in e-hobby boxes ..Only to be picky Jigga:
I believe any product release through the E-Hobby shop is fair game for TakTomy to re-release as E-Hobby is like a special division of Takara that release exclusive repaints. But the molds still belong to Takara. So I'm sure its just a matter of time before they release the rest of the Wonderfest Exclusives from 5 years ago. They already released Ironhide, Ratchet, TC, SW already.

The other four, I'm quite happy with my 20-odd-year-old originals.
Metroplex - great. Again, happy with my original (save for a snapped peg on Scamper's arm), but nice that he's seeing some love, and as has been said, that puts up the chances of redecoing as Metrotitan, which would be nice (although would he still be supplied with Metrobomb?).
I'm hoping that Trypticon is on the reissue list, but I'd prefer they hold off a bit till I have the money for him... Obvious Prime:
I'd buy an Encore Trypticon. I never had the original, only what I recently found out to be Gigastorm.
Skywave:
Holy! I just found out today about these, how have I missed that news Those release are so nice!
I already have Metroplex from my childhood in pretty good shape, with only the helipad not closing well in bot mode, and missing the smaller gun for the black car, so I'm set with him. But those seekers is a good thing for me! Even if I have a vintage Skywarp (missing missiles), looks like he'll be the lucky one of wich I'll own 2 time and display him in both mode I needed that Thundercracker and waited for that Encore one, now I'm happy
That Encore line is so awesome! Now bring Shockwave, and cassettes for Soundwave Takeshi357:
Well Shockwave isn't in Takara's possession (unlike Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx which ended up so through the merging), plus I saw the mold on the 'lost/destroyed' list...
Cloudraker:
opening the gates for some more big bot reissues me hopes.
Skylynx, Omega, Metroplex, then lets have Trypticon, Scorponok, Fort Max, Predaking and Star Saber/Victory Lio!
Hell, why stop there? Give us all of the combiner giftsets while youre at it!!
Easterling Capt:
Predaking already been done. They wont do him again this early.
If they would do any combiner I would say Bruticus is closest at hand due to thye have used that mold so many times they knwo what to do + they can connect it to the movie due to Brawl.

uzi_the_klown:
y cant they release more sets iwant lol besides the minibots and omega even thu i only ordered omega
Trailbreaker77:
I am glad in the new classics line we have Powerglide and it would be nice to see the Cosmos at the Hasbro tour in this as well. The bad part it makes me really want these minibots to add to my G1 collection. I am on the fence should I just pay the higher cost to get the TFC collection or wait and see if they could be updated in the encore line??????
uzi_the_klown:
id like to see a metal hawk reissue

I have been getting all the Encore reissues, and with all the surprise releases we have had so far, you never know what might be released next. flywheels: Quote:

I was all geared up to hunt for a Scorponok this year but w/ the releases of Omega, Sky Lynx and Metroplex, I've decided to hold off. Trypticon can't be far behind and the next logical choice after that would be movie cast member Scorponok.
I'm still hunting some G1 I'm missing though it's more stuff I know won't be re-issued like the Pretenders or Powermasters and the like.
