Although the Tokyo Toy Show was a few weeks ago, we found a couple of better-quality photos of upcoming Transformers from Hobby Link Japan’s show coverage. Check out another pair of photos of MP-07 Thundercracker and Encore 12 Metroplex by clicking the thumbnail at left!

So does anyone know if Hasbro will be releasing MP Skywarp or Thundercracker? I think these would be better versions of the characters rather than Takara's.

Thanks! At the end of the day, it's a business and they have to be profitable to survive. Making every transformer unique and different molds would be inefficient and too costly. And frankly, I think a lot of people do not realize what it takes to produce these toys as well as run a profitable business. I would love to have an MP in a different mold of every character, but it is not economicly feasible.
Add into this the fact that TakaraTomy/Hasbro has been really good to the fan base lately and I think we get more than they have to. Encore, classics, MP, etc. all made more or less for the adult collector
ThaConqueror
Either that, or Mr. Lister when he's forced to eat fruit
Anyways, I couldn't give the slightest crap about Encore Metroplex. And as for MP 'Cracker – if he gets new faces, then I might get him. But then I've yet to own this mold, so they better be good faces, and not Skywarp's constipated face.
Superquad7
Actually, this is one of the reasons I like the MP-7. Not every TF has to be from the bright rainbow of candy colors. I think MP-7 is going to be great and will fit in nicely with the others
Word.
However, I think a lot can be said for us to . . .
That's well-said, buddy. It just makes sense that TakaraTomy/Hasbro would create molds that they can milk a bit for the above reasons. This also helps for the development of new molds.

why oh why are you people wasting so much time, web space and text on a figure that really is nothing new at all? this is the 4th time the mold is being used, with a different paintjob, and maybe a slightly remolded face…. it doesnt come with anything different, it doesnt transform any different, and frankly im tired of seeing the same old crappy dr. arkeville…i mean cmon, id get all excited if something was different, but at this pricepoint we should be getting an all new mold, and an all new figure….and in all honesty, i have anime strscream and skywarp, and the original issue masterpeice starscream ( who happens to look more like thundercracker anyways)…so i ask you all, and i can understand a post or two and some pics here and there…but why all the hub bub over this mastercrap figure, when you all complain so whole heartedly about the same old molds being used over and over.

So did trailbreaker before you and I before him. *shrug* Guess one of us should have made a stronger push to get it sumbitted for news.

Be happy we are getting them at all. I dare to recon that Takaratomy doesn't make a killing on MPs in the first place. Add into that the high production cost and the incredible engineering, and we are lucky to have them at all. I think we will be getting more different molds, but I assume if the MP line continues you can expect to see more repaints, such as ironhide/ratchet, etc. But if it means we can have really cool collector's items then go right ahead and make six seekers, I don't care
Railguard
It would be nice to see to see some new Universe stuff.

Thanks!
That'd be cool … and I bet the transformation should be simpler than on MP Megs.

I now have another Transformer to buy.

What was that teaser?

Mixmaster
Uh oh, I spy plastic wheels on Metroplex (the visible wheel near Huffer). I may still get him though, my vintage example is in poor condition.
NGW
This.
I understand that some fans may be nerdgasming over being able to have all 3 Seekers as Masterpieces (though prior to MP07 that still was, technically, possible..as Greenscream certainly is close enough to be a TC), but really….there's only been 3 molds and 8 different releases. That is 4 repaints and a rerelease (with trailer).
Skywave
Meh, no real new photo
But still look great. I'm glad my vintage Metroplex is in good condition enough so I don't have to buy another, yet I like shiny new toys so it suck at the same time
As for Thundercracker, I'm glad they made him right away, so they can get away from the Seekers and put more effort to new mold. And for his second face, I hope he get something akin to that:
Johnator
Both look awesome. Can't wait to get them.
Rodr-Evil
Any dif. between the original Metroplex vs the Encore version? Some new mold or something?
Ceerad
3 molds in 5 years?
Especially after teasing us with the Grimlock shadow for MP-07
Hell, they threw 14 different Alternators at us in 3 years

How is this news? I posted that pic here weeks ago: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?p=2182196#post2182196
