Solicitation For TFC-EX002 Battle Rollar (G1 Roller) That Transforms 1
TFClub has posted concept artwork for a new G1 Roller toy that transforms into a robot and reportedly fits inside the trailer for Masterpiece Optimus Prime. This will apparently be released in the near future. Stay tuned to TFW2005 for more information regarding this product as it develops. The concept artwork can be seen at the TFClub link above or by clicking on the image to the left.

First TFClub promised us the amazing City Commander.

Then, they made matrix upgrade kits/classic Megatron guns

Now...the promise us...

A fully Transformable Roller that fits with the Masterpiece Prime figure

Josh:
:O

[ i once sketched out a transformable Roller mini-con that woulda been sweet]

roller ftw!!!!
Josh:
double post yay!
Trailbreaker77:
I gotta get me a masterpiece trailer!
Nevermore:
The title of this thread is confusing.

The verb is "transform", not "transformer". Optimus Prime's famous catchphrase was not "Autobots, Transformer and roll out!", after all...
MilkManX:
That is pretty cool!
Ripclaw:
its design in robot mode makes it look like it belongs to movie optimus prime

<.<

just sayin
Grimlock_13:
Ha, nice! I'd totally buy one if it wasn't like insanely expensive. Which it will be.
Chaos Convoy:
I like it, but it looks more like it should be for Movie Prime, not 20th Prime/MP Convoy.
NIDARAM12:
Where does it say it is for Masterpiece Prime?
SMOG:
Sweet... it's about friggin' TIME!

Though I agree with the earlier comment that he seems a little too "movie" styled... or rather, he just seems to be too lean and mean.

Normally I'm all about the wicked anime-styled mechs, but for Roller, I think something simpler and cuter was called for. Roller has always been more Wall-E or R2D2 than he was a sleek combat machine.

This robot looks cool in his own right based on the concept art, but it doesn't get points for channeling the character (who admittedly, never really had much of a character associated with him).

However, although it's hard to tell from the artwork, it would be sort of cool if he ends up looking a bit like Prime... since according to the fiction, he IS an extension of Prime's consciousness.

Man, you are in my head, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Right down to the WALL-E and R2D2 comparisons. This design looks too "badass" for Roller. He should be straight-up cute.

Interesting thought, about him looking a little like Prime. I'd be up for a cute, simply little red-and-blue robot with some Prime-esque design cues. He might be a good candidate for a Videogame-Drone-style lens-face, too. It would keep him from having too much of his own identity and make him seem more like an "eyes-of-Prime" scout.

Crap. Now I want to do a Roller custom.
Bryan.:
I feel good about this and will probably buy it, if I'm pleased with the production quality of my "City Commander" armor.
SPLIT LIP:
EDIT: Nevermind.

"Ow."
shibamura_prime:
Swanky!
dark69:
looks like he's from the movie line
doomtron:
that would have been sweet in the g1 cartoon. cool concept
REDLINE:
if he's going to be that busy in robot mode, then he has no business standing with MP-01, which is a shame as it WOULD be cool to have a viable modernized Roller to go with that sucker.
butz:
Looks really cool, but I have a hard time caring; it'll cost way more than I'd want to spend on it, and there's just way too many other things I want to buy.
Elvin Pena:
Love it!
DELTAsnake:
I've got to get him!
Ktulu:
Definitely think he's a little too teched out and aggressive looking like most of you but it's certainly interesting

Your talking about FansProject(City Commander, Mini Megs, Matrix), who are not involved with this Roller figure.
Zie:
Honestly, if he comes out nice, I'd buy him regardless of what he's supoosed to go with. A cool TF is a cool TF regardless of size, style or assosiation
Liokaiser:
Brillant idea. I can't say any more.
Tekkaman Blade:
I've got the upgrades fan trailer, it comes with a good roller.
Dropshot:
Sure looks good, but it looks too influenced by the movie verse, it will look weird next to masterpiece Prime
Infosaur:
But will he get his own Spotlight Comic?

After all,,, Wheelie did.
Seth Buzzard:
That's bad ass, I wish I had the trailer now.
Melkava:
I would settle for an over sized THS2 roller with more details.
Smell a silver/blue repaint release
rizuan76:
Finally roller the most underrated autobot gets to shine in the limelight.
Ravenxl7:
Eh, something about it bothers me. It looks like it belongs with the movie TF's, imo. I personally would have gone with a simpler design than that. A minicon-like design would have worked much better, imo.
protostar8:
Ugh, not more movie influence. The Masterpiece line is G1 based and Roller looks like a movie bot. Though not too bad. Not as scrap-pile looking as a movie bot. Almost like a mix between a movie bot and something from Gundam 00 with the thin limbs.
Backstop:
BLAH!
Deadend:
Hmm, movie stylish with still anime flair so he can cross multiple continuities. NICE! Even kinda has that allspark awoken roller feel for the extra funny, even though the head is similiar moreso to anime flair like tekkaman blade.

Now all we need is a few animated allsparks that light up, and we're starting to have everything every series needs. xD

Well, short of a powermaster prime trailer followed by apex armor at least for classics.

Bet TFC is happy though, they started out on a gamble and are moving bigger and better all the time. If any if only some of these were more comercially available, then again, at this rate these early ones will never be (but forever sought after on the market as their original works) and farther later ones are. That'd be too sweet though to just walk into a hobby shop or TRU model aisle or whatnot and pick these up, especially some of the kabaya kits too.

Mmm, and these bring back thoughts of those days of character catalogues you could only get with points or cash.

Too good to be true, but keep up the awesome work!

My feelings exactly.

It's like the new City Commander & the 25th GI Joe line, they're really nice to look at but I don't feel the need to own them & spend money on them.
Runamuck:
Looks too movie-esque in robot mode to be with MP Prime. It would be cool if he had rubber wheels.
ckhtiger:
will.
buy.
Fort Max:
Has anyone considered that it may be part of a larger set for movie Prime rather then simply styled after him.

Haha! Now you're in my mind!

Bearing in mind everything said above, it occurred to me that it couldn't possibly be too hard to simply kitbash a passable Roller... after all, it's not like I'm ever going to shell out the cash for this thing.

I also was thinking maybe a lens-head drone-ish design, though the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a simplified Prime-ish look to him. Maybe all in blue, just so it's not TOO obvious.

Bahamut Prime:
If it's true then FINALLY! A Roller figure to complete the figure at last!

He doesn't have a trailer T_T.

If i had MP-04 i would get it i have 20th DVD Prime but no trailier.
NIDARAM12:
Seriously though I don't see an MP-4 anywhere on the page. Are you guys just making this up or am I missing it? At least the "4" should be readable.
Cinemastique:
AHH! I WANT.

(Check out my profile: Favorite Transformer: Roller.)
Ops_was_a_truck:
That's pretty wicked.
Railguard:
Hey now that is cool!!!! I'm sure it will be mad expensive or only available to the TFCLUB so I'm out but still, it looks cool.
CDBROWN48:
I have to agree with some of the other posters here.........it does look like it should be with Movie Optimus. Now I am not saying that this is not cool......just the opposite I like it and I think its a great addidtion/extra to the MP line
Takara_destron:
Yeah that does look very movie style. Still pretty neat though, always good to see Roller get some love!
thygriever:
roller just officially became more awesome! i love the design. now i really want one. it's like prime's little buddy
