Multi-Property, Multi-Year Agreement Includes My Little Pony Direct-to-DVD
Los Angeles, CA and Pawtucket, RI – Shout! Factory and Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) today announced a multi-year, multi-property alliance to bring the original animated TV series THE TRANSFORMERS and the G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO animated series, along with MY LITTLE PONY Twinkle Wish Adventure to the home entertainment marketplace. The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory founding partners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos, and Lisa Licht, General Manager, Entertainment & Licensing, Hasbro.
Under the multi-year agreement, Shout! Factory will be the exclusive U.S. and Canada home entertainment distributor for the original animated TV series The TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO DVD franchise properties, and a MY LITTLE PONY animated direct-to-DVD release.
“TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE and MY LITTLE PONY are three uniquely celebrated brands and are part of the American cultural fabric,” stated the Shout! Factory founding partners. “Given the breadth of Hasbro’s toys, games, television and live-action feature films, we are thrilled with this premiere alliance and to be able to bring these timeless original animated series and new titles to multiple generations of fans.”
“Shout! Shout! Factory plans an aggressive rollout of these Hasbro titles later this year utilizing the same sales and marketing strengths that has made them one of the leading independent DVD suppliers in the home entertainment industry.

Factory has cultivated strong relationships with major Hollywood studios and organizations through a series of strategic content partnerships with ABC Studios, DIC Entertainment, DIRECTV, Dreamworks Television, MGM, NBC Universal Consumer Products Group, Nelvana, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, Jetix, 4Kids Entertainment and others.

Woo Hoo! My Little Pony!!!!!11111!!
GI. Joe is more exciting than the TF since I already have the whole G1 TF series.

I can't wait for G.I. Joe as I already own the Rhino Transformers series.
PredaconX:
Yea i didnt purchase any of the G.I. Joe series so this is huge IMO. I already own all the seasons of TF on dvd but if there is enough extras i will def grab up the new ones. Ive only heard them say they are going to release each season by the end of the year. I want a full box set so i guess well just have to wait and see what happens.
Switch625:
I also echo the sentiment about being more excited for G.I. Joe than Transformers, although the prospect of complete series box sets for both shows has me very intrigued. If the reviews for the G1 season one set are good, I will definitely consider double-dipping for the complete series sets.
Kenucme:
I hope this leads to the Japanese G1 series being released since we know Hasbro secured the rights to them.
I'll for one be looking to get the Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory after all this time. Please Hasbro (and SHOUT!), PLEASE!

Draven:
GI Joe on DVD = SWEET.
Empir3:
I have the rhino dvds so depending on the extras i prob wont re buy the dvds.
Wheelimus_Prime:
GI JOE being released on DVD is the best news I've had all day!!! I can't wait until it comes out. I'll get to my local Best Buy nice and early so I can have a decent place in line so I can get my hands on a copy before it sells out!!
PredaconX:
Headmasters and Masterforce i would be jumping for joy if they actually made it on the market. Pleaseeeee Hasbro do us proud and let us enjoy them!!!

mikeyfuzz:
I haven't seen G.I.Joe since I was a little so this is a good chance to see them all in one place.
bonafide1498:
maybe cartoon network, Jetix or boomerang will play em now. that would be sweet
Transmetal:
So are they gonna release each season at a time or just 1 box set? I have the Rhino dvds minus season 2. I wouldn't mind just buying a season 2 set if it comes out.
toma:
i'm more excited about gi joe to be honest. i have the entire rhino g1 collection, but i skipped out on gi joe since they didn't finish the whole series.
shadow panther:
so wait they are releasing the entire G1 animated series?
Railguard:
Sounds great!!! Can't wait to see it on the shelves, if its at all affordable.
Johnator:
Definitely getting GI Joe and Transformers! Awesome news!

When the press release said "original animated series" that made it sound like G1 only. None of the other TF series.

Cool. Though unless it's hella cheap I won't be double dipping.
FanTransformers:
Great news! How about Robots in Disguise full run Region 1 DVD set....!
Solrac333:
Does this mean we'll see a Jem release?! That would be truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous!
PredaconX:
Ive only heard that they plan on releasing all the seasons over the course of the upcoming months. But i havent heard anything about a full box set. If im going to double dip im hoping they release a full box set with new extras and not just individual seasons. G.I. Joe im so pumped to finally get all the G1 episodes to watch.
Shelfwarmercon:
I hope the My Little Pony DVD includes substantial stuff on the Glofriends and Potato Head Kids -_-
Kenucme:
^^Thanks for the link. Brian seems to be very to the point with answering questions!
It's a shame about the commercials (as that was what I was looking forward to most), but not totally unexpected. I at least hope they come up with better ones that what I've managed to download from Youtube.
lightdestroyed:
I can't freaking wait!
Ace96:
Sweet now maybe I can complete my G1 DVD collection without paying a fortune for the out of print Rhino ones.
Chris McFeely:
Ah, man, kick ASS. Shout Factory really know how to do their jobs.
Jericho:
Did I miss it, or was there no mention of a complete box set in either link?
I have G1 seasons 1 and 2 from Rhino, is it worth buying these again then?

For me anyway. Kudos Shout! Factory.
Runamuck:
I wonder if the GI Joe sets will include the DIC series or not.
KMITB:
I think the series is the Sunbow run only. If they release the DIC stuff...it should be it's own set. Like Armada would be to the G1 stuff...different series.

And even though it wasn't Hasbrow/Sunbow, someone still needs to give me The Centurions on DVD. Soon.
OptimusSolo: Shout! Factory Community - The Definitive Transformers Thread
It sounds like this guy is willing to listen to information regarding animation errors and capable of correcting some for the DVD release unless I am reading this wrong...He states that he doesnt have much info past season 1 on animation errors!
