Prototype Generation One Scorponok Auction

Posted on 12-10-2008 at 10:02 AM by fosterlager
Prototype Generation One Scorponok Auction P1140874
Rare Transformers dealer senuseret72 has listed another eBay auction for a G1 prototype. This time he has a rare Scorponok first shot sticker sample. According to senuseret, this sample was used as a sticker study for the finished toy and contains no legal or copyright stamps. Many of the stickers have been hand cut, colored and applied and differ from the finished Scorponok we found on toy shelves in 1987.

You can see all of the photos of this rare piece by viewing the auction here.

In addition, the seller is known for having legitimate Hasbro prototype items.

Awww.... when I logged on to the home page and saw the image, I immediately thought, "Encore Scorponok?!?! Wooooo!!!!"

Then I was sad.
DoubleClouder:
This has been on ebay for 2 months now, and the seller even advertised it in a for sale thread on this very board.
Triggerhappy:

well, no legal or copyright stamps, hand-cut stickers... and the price, turns me off.

fine, this guy has sold legit things before, but who wants to take such a risk, especially in this economy?

better off just getting a regular G1 if you really have to have him.

these dumb ebay sellers should know by now theres no way your going to sell an actiong figure for over 100.00 dollars master pice figures over hunder dollars i can understand if it has the accesoirs un cluded with it prime, primes trailer little bit over 100.00 but 800.00 for a figure that maybe 2% complete big whoop.

the only way hes going to sell this figure is for a reasonable price same with all the other ebay sellers that sell transformers, gijoe & others outrages prices is not way to get rid of it price for this thing thats included with this figure should be 50 to 75 $ not 800.00 idiot ebayers think toys are made of gold.

You do know its a prototype right? Id love to find an 80's prototype like this for $50-75, it's obvious you don't have a clue.

You do know that this isnt the normal release of scorponok right ? If the figure is what he says it is then its worth well over 100$. Prototypes are not the same as your store bought figures and pretty much impossible to find from G1 from what i know .. What do you concider a reasonable price for a prototype ?

he probably figures $1.99 plus $5 for shipping....obviously another
Powersa:
I'd like to see it in Encore too.
Malach Ra:
Dis is some weak news. Makes me wonder why my clear white primal wasnt news. cant think of anyone here thats seen it before I posted pics of it. O'well, I guess thats how it goes.......
Blurrz:
Seriously.. doesn't even have his head in this auction.
Joe1:
Erg, i already hav a G1 scorponok and the prototype is of no interest to me.

tho, i agree with most of u guys in saying that n encore scorponok would b vry cool.
Railguard:
Interesting but pass. I actually rather liked the (I believe it was) Energon Scorpinok.
Easterling Capt:
cool. I like the ornage shields on the ankels. would be worth it if it was complete.

Encore, Scorpenok. please..it will both be bigger and more epxensiv then Omega and Metroplex and those are shelfwarmers. You can always get them under retail price at some sale here and there. Why would TT chance again because a bunch of fanboys want one.

Not puning Im just beeing realistic.
