oH I WOULD BUY REFLECTOR JUST FOR THE BOX TO PUT MY REAL ONE IN.

I'm interested in Reflector, but really hope it's colored like the show instead of exact replicas of the original toy. That's always been a deal breaker for me when it came to buying these guys.

Great news about Wheeljack & Sunstreaker, but still waiting for any sign of hope for an eventual KO Trailbreaker.

What happened to his legal problems with Hasbro? Spencer said he took the KOs off his website.

To be honest, great news, imo, would be their price somehow dropping down to a reasonable price, but, then again, I'm cheap, lol. Good news for those willing to shell out for KO's. Nothing against those who do, it's just not something I would/will do, though I'd go for a cheap KO pretty much any day, especially one of Grimlock.

Cool was wondering when they would ship out my Starscream. No mention of the Encore Jazz though =(

Is that Devastator a "reproduction" or "obvious" (as in, packaging that looks nothing like a TF packaging) KO?

I'd rather have an obvious KO. They're cheaper.

all we know is that hasbro wanted spencer to take down the stuff of his website, not to actually stop selling them.

The entire TF KO section is off the website. But I wonder how Spencer expects to move the KO stock he has purchased so far if he's complying with Hasbro's request. eBay may be?

I am not sure how that would work as selling the item is what Hasbro has the beef with. And I am not sure how you sell something not on the website.

Spenser said he was going to try to get an update on the whole issue.

I would love to see a Reissue Reflector. That was such a cool toy. I remember ordering mine but he didn't seem to make it to adulthood intact for me.

well, a store here in halifax, sell marijuana right out in the open, they don't advertise, everyone knows it, and they are still in business.... no troubles form the law...

plus ALOT of stores, here sell "novelty" drug parephanalia, and REAL get you F#@ked up ABSINTHE, as long as they sell it with a disclaimer " novelty only" they get through legal loop holes here in canada, where A3U is located... if Spence wanted t sell these as "novelty only" items, canada law is on his side it seems to sell what he wants.

There's a difference between a legal loophole and crappy enforcement. It sounds like the situations you're describing above are the latter. Calling something a "novelty" item doesn't magically change its legal status.

Excellent news on Reflector!

I'm really interested in seeing what the G1 style box looks like. I'd strongly consider buying that even though I haven't considered any KOs seriously for purchase. I did get a Mirage in a trade though and that really looks nice. I'd love to admire Reflector (despite that I have an authentic one) in G1 packaging.

well, either way, you can buy a crack pipe or a bong in nearly every corner store here in town, and i've actually seen legal documentation on-line about forign sellers importing goods to canada using the "novelty item" loophole (it's how i used to import my absinthe before the stores here sold it locally.. absinth is now LEGAL in canada BTW)

Regardless, Spence has found a way to keep selling these, so SOMETHING has been resolved somewhere, and i'm glad for it.

I would just like to point out that I will NOT be selling any of these items off the site. People have preordered many of these items already and they all will be filled. That is the extent of my obligations at the moment.

I have said in the past that I will continue to report on these items and provide information on them to ensure the the public continues to be informed of their existance and to help ensure that no one gets scammed by purchasing KO goods as legitimate product.

On this I would request that the 'legal' talk be kept to a minimum. There is no loophole, there is nothing at the moment that says I can sell these or anything else. I am just reporting the facts as they come to me. There is no need to stir the pot so to speak at the moment. If you are concerned about where to get these items as they come out, I would suggest ebay. I know a few sellers of these items and if you want to know who you can trust then email me and ask. I will provide information if needed.

As for the Hasbro talk, that is for another thread at a later date. Hasbro does not move quickly on issues and nothing is resolved and I am sure it will be months before anything does get resolved. Patience, something many transformer collectors lack, is all I ask for the moment. I have been forthcoming in the past with my information and will continue to do so.

Without whinging too much, I would like to ask if anybody in the UK saw the channel 4 documentary last night (Monday 10th March) entitled 'The Fake Trade'?

The show was quite an eye opener about the people behind some of the luxury fake goods that find their way onto the UK market, usually in market stalls and short lived retail outlets. The fake drugs section was astonishing, especially when you see qualified medical doctors comparing fake drugs that found their way into chemists, with real drugs and not being able to tell the difference !!

It didn't have Transformers on there but it doesn't take a genius to realise that the counterfeiting industry is copying whatever they can to make money which is then used for some rather nasty purposes.

When you consider the harm it does, I don't see how you can justify to yourself the purchase of such low quality KOs.

I'm not a big fan of knock-offs, but if that reflector is panted in carton colours, you'll have a customer...

(edit) just read above post, it's interesting what some people use to justify random arguments. I agree that is disgusting, but these are small run items done in a (relatively) specialist factory, so I don't think your argument would apply.

Secondly, if you're that worried, I hope you don't buy Hasbro Transformers. I know I don't. Have a google about their sweat shop practices, you might not like what you see.

I never did get a reply from them when I e-mailed them about it either...
