| New Images of Masterpiece MP-08 Grimlock |
| Posted on 10-30-2008 at 07:59 AM by Tim Formas | | New images of TakaraTomy's Masterpiece Grimlock have surfaced on Zona Hobby. While providing a better look at the robot mode details, the pictures also confirm that Grimlock will come with a king's crown from his brief stint as Autobot leader in the Marvel Comics, waiter's tray from "Madman's Paradise", the mind-transfer device from "Grimlock's New Brain", and the typical Grimlock sword. Check out the new images by clicking on the picture to the left. Masterpiece MP-08 Grimlock is due out in March 2009.

What does the image with the close-up of his tail say? It looks bendy. I wonder if it can bend down to form a straighter tail for those that want a horizontal T-rex mode?

On the fence for the mo, it's a costly toy, I'm buying way less toys these days and it doesn't look as hot as MP Prime when it really has no excuse not to. I do however have all the other MP's bar repaints and I do want an MP Grimlock.
If he's big enough (which cannot be clearly determnined here) to warrant the price tag then I'll probably go for one.

I feel bad for Grimlock. All of the other Masterpiece has been very realistic considering their alt mode, they never go to cartoon accurate (except color). So, he is a pass.

Try imagine to put the same figure that fits on Alt JAzz (like a Mask figure) in the Optimus cab... or just compare the wheels dimensions.

What does a "real" robot dinosaur look like, exactly? | Yep. It's a bit out of character for me, but I actually like the G1 accuracy with this guy, and I really like the crown from the comics. I can't wait to see what Hasbro has in the works for their release of him.

The toy itself actually looks pretty cool. The fact he's more cartoon-like makes him 'different' from his usual toys, but I like it.
If it didn't sell for $150, I'd probably go for it. At this point, I'll wait and see if Hasbro decides to put the mold out in the U.S. in a year or so. Hopefully they will, and I can wait or skip this one either way.
