User miao of the Actoys boards, has managed to pick up an Encore 16 Bruticus. Miao also edited some side by side images with a G1 Bruticus in their component and combined modes.
In the images we can see rough and uneven parts. This is apparent on Onslaught and Vortex in particular, although the other three are not exempt. The coloring is based on the G1 animation instead of being a direct homage to the toy palette. Some stickers were replaced with tampographs and unlike reissue Predaking, this Bruticus does not contain metal.

OK, here are close ups of the rest of them. The only Combaticon that doesn't have any "anime" styled stickers is Vortex.

That's actually a pretty good idea. The upgrade sets have themes, and if the themes can be grouped, I think it can help sales for them.

I should mention that the "Prototype" stickers on my vintage Bruticus chest shield originally appeared in the catalogs, and were finally made available from Reprolabels via upgrade sheet #2. The cromium Decepticon logo was from the now defunct Transformers Sticker Restorations guys. The "anime" Bruticus stickers are from Reprolabels Upgrade sheets #5-8

The Stickers look good! Hopefully repro labels will sell a Encore Bruticus set of stickers because I don't want to buy all those stickers 1 by 1.

Oh, and in the category of useless information, I weighed the Vintage with diecast Bruticus in at 378g, and the Encore Bruticus was 310g

I did want to mention, that I had a pretty difficult time transforming Vortex at his feet. They just didn't want to swing back. After some effort, I managed to get it back into position and disassembled it. As a comparison I did the same to my vintage Vortex and noticed that there IS a difference in the mold that was used.
The vintage version is on the right and the Encore on the left. The modified version makes it particularly difficult to slide and pivot the green part. I trimmed some of the extra grey plastic to closer resemble the vintage version and it improved the ease of transforming.

I finally got mine in today, and I have applied the upgrade stickers from Reprolabels.com. I think this sticker set suits the Encore Bruticus better, largely because there aren't indents in the mold for the rubsigns
Most of the stickers are minor details, but the largest coverages would be Blast Off and the chest shield.
I am posting some photos due to a request earlier in the thread. I hope you all enjoy

All I know is that all this bad mouthing, whining and complaining may compromise the continuity of the Encore line. People are exagerating and overreacting too much and that may end up being really bad if it results in the end of the Encore line, which is a line for fans/collectors. If they see that people are just complaining and not buying the releases they'll probably put an end to it. I don't want to see that… Even if a release has some flaws, so be it, it's still enjoyable. I can't believe this set is even being compared to the cheapest low quality KOs out there .

I need to follow up to my previous post, where I said I was somewhat disappointed in mine. After taking a look at and transforming each of them and setting them out by each other, I have to take back what I said. I think they are great! and I still haven't even put the stickers on them yet.

People are really exaggerating about the quality of them. They're just as good as any of the RID or Car Robot versions. No where near KO quality.

I'm not trying to complain too much about mine. I'm sure I'll like it especially after applying stickers.

Like Easterling Capt says, it's nowhere near as bad as folk are making out.
There are molding issues, mainly flash, and details being less defined, but they're not that bad. I've got most of the various Brutici KO's and the Encore is much better than any of them.
In my opinion, the worst thing about this set is the bloody inner tray. The whole thing snaps into itself, that'll crack/break long before the toys ever do.
I'm off to sticker mine up now

LOL! Good one
Easterling Capt
they are not that bad, looked at ninetys one at AA and sure you see some stuff that aint exactly as it should but for the ammount your paying for a boxed giftset its darn good.

That bad? Damn, I guess I'll have to wait for this thing to go on clearance. I use to have Ruination from RID, and I thought that it had a pretty crummy quality feel to it, (atleast when compared to my vintage Transformers). Sounds like this is nothing but Ruination repainted in G1 colors.
Baccala1976
These def have some KO quality to them. I had the KO of Defensor (a real POS) and this one seems like it's slightly better than that.

I received my Encore Bruticus today. I don't have an original to compare it to, but compared to my other G1 figures, the plastic does seem to be lighter weight (i.e. cheaper) than my original G1 figures. I have only pulled out Blastoff and Swindle thus far. Haven't checked the others. I was a little disappointed with those two. They did seem a little bit like knock offs to me, which makes it more difficult to justify the current price. I'm sure I'll still enjoy them though, as long as I forget how much I paid for them.

Got mine in today from BBTS and I am very happy with my Bruticus I've never had the original to compare it to, but to me this is not cheap plastic. It is strong, I see no mold issues.

Getting mine next week…….
