I had gone out shopping today and had decided to stop by my local best buy to find a movie I have been looking for, but they didn't have it. anyways, i had decided to look around the tv show boxed sets isle and after a few minutes i spotted it on the shelves. there was 4 i saw on the shelves, so i got one and now i am a very very happy person.

The MSRP was set at I believe $170. Then again MSRP is always higher than actual retail price.
Amazon has it listed for: $152.99
Buy.com has it for preorder for $108.99

Haha! I KNEW it would be cheaper at retail. While I have a lot of respect for Shout Factory for putting these out with such love and care, I always thought the $140 price tag was a bit extreme. So if the OP bought this for $130, I'm sure the box set will be even cheaper the week of its official release, as dvds at Best Buy are usually on sale during their initial release date.

And so you should. SF should never have wholesaled this set at a price that would allow retailers to sell it less than they did direct from their website. Effectively they ripped off fans knowing there would be some who would pay just to have it 3-4 months early. If buy.com has it for $109, SF should have sold it on their website for no more than $99.

So does the retail release suffer from the same BS Shout! Factory pulled off with the Matrix of Leadership edition from their website a few months back?
The episode guide on the back of the cases does not reflect what is actually on the disc. Some examples are Starscream's Ghost and Dark Awakening are not on the discs they are supposed to be on according to the episode guide on the back of the cases.
I'd be curious to know.

Here in Winnipeg, Canada, I picked this up for $99.99 at Best Buy on Friday. The weren't on the shelves, so an employee looked it up on the system then got one from the back for me.
