Andrew Wildman has updated his blog with a variant cover for IDW's on-going Transformers series, issue #3 in specific. This is the second of six covers that Andrew Wildman is working on for IDW.

Gotta love the old school look.

I like it.

+1 orio
neospark1:
That looks a million times better than Don's "I'm gonna slice you open if I kiss you faces."
Bass X0:
I just hope that the story and art inside is good.
Nachtsider:
^ +1. Let's hope the interior is as nice as the exterior.
theestampede:
agreed, that cover looks fantastic

That just made my morning. Thanks!
Dys:
Nice cover, but we've known about it for several days now. I posted a link to it and the Solicitations and the other covers over at Comics Continuum a few days back and it got locked.

The A-Cover is good too, shame Magnus has such a severe case of Figueroa face.
Ktulu:
Classy stuff. The "this was colored on a computer" look clashes a bit with the sketchiness of the illustration for me but that's a microscopic nitpick at best.
SmokescreenGT:
Very cool.
Cekyr0:
cuz hot rod is wolverine....?
Storm:
I like the retro covers more than the Edward Scissor face interiors atm. I think the retro covers could make very good posters
knoted:
+ 1 for the face, -1 for the Wolverine thing.

Yeah, the Wolverine thing is kinda cheesy, but I do like Wildman's style. Great cover: it's got a grittiness most TF covers lack IMO.
DrGrim:
So he says this is Rodimus Prime then and not Hot Rod? They're actually going to use the most underused leader in TF comic history? Or did he have it wrong and this is supposed to be Hot Rod? The color scheme is Rodimus Prime's...
Thundershot:
I don't think it matters. The cover likely has nothing to do with the contents, especially since it's not done in IDW style Roddy.
U.Magnus80:
The " sketchiness" style looks awesome. I'm not digging the Wolvie pose either though. Unless he's teasing that Hugh Jackman will be voicing Rodimus in TF3.
Hopefully not.
SMOG:
I kind of think the Wolverine pose is kind of a cute side-reference, actually. I wonder if it's an homage to one cover in particular, like those Megatron covers a while back?

I like the style of the linework... something different from the current norm in TF comics.

C.Robimus:
It's nice to see his work presented properly, unlike his short run at Dreamwave...

Sort of an interesting juxtaposition: very human-like Wildman bots vs. Don's increasingly alien-looking designs.
Acteon:
Now if the internal pages looked like that I'd put my hand in my wallet.

Nice to see Wildman's art unrestricted by "corporate style". I've been re-reading the end of the G1 Marvel comics recently. I miss you Andrew
DeceptiKreep:
How very Wolverine looking ...
Protoman:
.......... and now I have to change my pants.
Feralstorm:
I like the style (not so much 'sketchy' as making heavy use of classic hatching technique for a rougher look) .
Smeg:
I'm really digging Wildman's newer style.
MagnusPrimal:
Now that is awesome Transformers artwork!
