Here’s a little something different for our “gotta have it all” fans. As we all know, Transformers are popping up in tons of different form factors. Action figures are the primary thing for most of us, but there is some cool, and sometimes weird, stuff out there. The folks at Funko and Mindstyle combined to create a line of Hikari vinyl pieces, which are inspired by old school Sofubi Japanese vinyl figures. They a minimal in articulation, feature cartoonish proportions, and in this Hikari line, have high end hand painted details.
G1 Optimus Prime and Bumblebee (along with Skeletor and some others) are featured in the line, and have gotten multiple repaints already. We got our hands on the Entertainment Earth excluisve “Battle Ready” versions and have done up a quick photo shoot to show them off.
Read on to check out over 40 pics of them in “action”! If you dig them, you can pick them up here!
Illmatic
Definately an easy pass. There is nothing I like about these.
Wh33ls
Don'cha know? These are the "new" action masters, with "cosmic rust" action!
Honesty
I was about to make a comment like this, but much less .. Mean sounding lol xD
They seriously look like they been sitting in the dump, or outside in the rain for like 5 years.
If you paid more than $10.00 for the pair; I'd say you were ripped off.
Toolverine
Garbage.
Wh33ls
Hmmmmmmm….
If it was similar to the limited articulated Action Masters toys, then I may have bitten.
whitewolfe313
WOW, they really look like SHIT! Looks like a toy someone dug out of the dump!
Kaiser
I still waiting my nemesis prime, dunno delay or not
Elbastardo
More like clearance ready
lastczarnian
High end paint apps? hardly
HARD RAINBOW
Oh boy! They made it look like my old dirty beat up vinyl toys from the 70's! They even gave it the same vintage price! Oh boy!
Scypris
Wow. These are awful, they overkilled it with the wear.
DPrime
I guess they're supposed to look like old worn 1950s vintage robot toys?
Not really my cup of tea… I think they're kind of ugly, to boot.
Tony_Bacala
Cosmic Rust. If they used that term instead of battle ready it would've worked.
H.E.X.-BRAVE
being an art piece that you may display it with an Elvis record, bottle ship model, & an old rotary dial telephone, not an action figure that you go PEW-PEW-PEW!!! VROOOOMM-WHOOPAH!! with spring loaded rocket launchers in your hands, their appearance was meant to look like a badly worn out retro Japanese PVC figures in the likes of Tetsujin 28 & Mazinger Z.
Elbastardo
Seemingly the point is for them to look like the most worn out dodgeball in gym class.
Yeah when he was infected by that nuts and bolts disease eh?
Smasher
What is the point?
Xaxis
Hmm. Nope, these aren't my thing.
ABH1979
I feel like Prime's windows and grill should be that same silvery color used on the face and upper legs…
Autobot Spike
So full of "Nope."
It is too grungy looking, don't dig the proportions, and that much for a non-transforming brick? No, no, its all wrong for me. Still…. articulation is on par with a titan devy constructicon, I suppose…..

Whew! One of the first releases this year I am not tempted by. My wallet is greatful. The superdeformed crowd should be happy though.
