Both listings include images that we have seen before, but in a much higher resolution so we can now see details previously unavailable, such as the articulation on Grimlock's dinosaur arms and Crossover Mickey's head, which features a tiny Mickey Mouse holding on for dear life! Discuss all these new images on our 2005 Boards.

i'm so happy that it's pre-ordered
Drew Eiden:
looks like his right hand isn't articulated...
haha complaining about hand articulation

Right one probably isn't due to the lightup sword.
Incepticon:
Cool... looks like my suspicions were right about his hands. They appear to fold out from panels inside each dino leg/robot arm instead of popping out of the bottom like the G1 toy. That should help the dino feet look much more complete & solid. Blackout:
That light up sword is cool.
If he is the size of MP Starscream then I won't be disappointed if he has the bulk.
Peaugh:
I want to see Mickey with the visor down.
Smasher:
Holy Crap that Mickeyformer is cool!
Yeah -I said it.

My niece are both gonna love them. I can tell already.
As for Grimlock... niiiice. The more detail we see the more I like it. I'm excited to see how they paint it.
Also, it looks like the "brain hat" pic with OP confirms what a lot had said about the lower rez version of that pic, Grimlock is going to be as big as everyone had hoped. He will clearly tower over OP when standing on his feet and not sitting back.
rapid_fire:
man grimlock looks so amazing!!!! I can't believe how great a job they did.
Now that's a Master Piece!!
RunaR:
Too bad Grimlock is not updated, even a little bit. He looks too much like the dumb cartoon version. His dino upper chest is to long, this makes the robot wings to broad.
I got to see it in color before I decide.
raptorclans:
Can't wait to see this chap in all his colored glory! r'Ne:
Nice! I'm sold Polenicus:
I'm... oddly disappointed that the right hand isn't articulated. But that's mostly because I do a photocomic, and articulated hands are terrific for that purpose. But the left hand IS articulated, and the right certainly isn't just a block with a hole drilled in it.
We obsess over the weirdest stuff, huh?
Aside from that, he looks... well, stunning. I think the concerns about his size are overblown... look at the shot with Optimus. His dino leg is approximately the size of a scout-class Transformer by itself... so I'd guess he might be slightly bigger than the MP Seekers, and certainly bulkier. The sword looks like it'll be a decent size (Not the stumpy thing we got with Alt Grimmy), and the Alt mode looks like it stepped out of the cartoon.
I'm really looking forward to this guy now.
Soundwave2:
can't believe no one's P/S'd a pic yet I can't wait to see colored pics
Lucs:
Nice to see those pics bigger. Thanks for posting. That crown just seems silly to me but I like all the extras the MPs typically come with. In my head I'm saying undecided, but my wallet's already screaming cuz it knows I'm gonna buy it.
For some reason that Mickey looks better and better. I'd get it if I liked Micky more, now if it was Donald or Bugs I'd be all over it
lookinglasself:
Grimlock looks awesome. Can't wait..
Feralstorm:
Looks like maybe ... the serving tray accessory ... plugs into the chest ??
trebleshot:
Already sold on Grimmy. Still not sure about Mickey, never was a fan of the helium-infused rodent. I'm more of a Looney Tunes guy, myself.
SpeedBreaker:
I hope his Christmas bon-bon paper crown is removable.
Shark Jumper:
I want color pics already.
E. C. R. Former:
You know what I think would be crazy? If the Mickey Mouse Former came with a Keyblade. Mind you that would require a license from SquareEnix in addition to the licenses from TakaraTomy and Disney and what not so it's highly unlikely. But hey, that's what kitbashers are for.
While I would've preferred a more modern dino look, I think MP Grimlock is sweet. What I like is that he's got the crown as well the drinks meaning that he could be either or comic book or cartoon version. I heard his optics change color from red to blue as well further emphasizing that (though I could be wrong). Anyway, that's all IMHO.
Takara_destron:
Those are both sweet!
TCracker:
Shiiitttttt......there goes my bank account
Acteon:
I'm not keen on the crown - it just reminds me of what a dummy he was in the US comics - but otherwise it looks beautifully detailed. Unlike most people, I'd like it to be a little smaller, for shelf space reasons more than anything else - but then, that's what WST Grimmy is for ^_^
deathsheadx:
He can turn his head in dino mode. sold! best get saving.
LightningZERO:
The details of Grimlock is amazing!
My03Tundra:
Alright, what parts on MP Grimlock are going to be die-cast? Even if he is all plastic he looks fantastic already, detail wise.
I also like the Mickey-former.
Coolhand:
Two thoughts sprang to mind upon looking at these MP-08 photos.
1: For me, that apparent lack of articualtion in the right hand is a massive frag-up for a masterpeice toy. I really don't care about the flashing sword gimmick, I want articulation and the lack of it in that hand is inexcusable in what will apparently be the most expensive Masterpeice toy ever. However, I WAS pleasently suprised to see that his T-Rex arms appear to have full articulation, even down to having articulated claws. And I suppose Grimlock without a weapon in his right hand wouldn't be Grimlock, so I'd never really want that hand to open, but still. It's the principle of the thing!
2:Overall, looking at that those photos has laid most of my fears to rest. He looks wonderfully detailed, fantastically articulated except for the STUPID right hand, and certainly has enough size to make the impact an MP toy needs to make. I'm still annoyed about the price hike, and think he should have been MP-01/MP-05 scale for the price they're asking, but he's still big enough for it not to be a deal breaker.
Over all: Yum Yum Yum Quote:

oh sweet. Grimlock is sooo nice!
and i admit it, the mickey mouse one is sweet too.
Trailbreaker77:
After seeing this I hope the Masterpiece line lives on for years. As I have said before I will be getting two of these. One in march and the other after Botcon next year when I find out if Hasbro is bring this guy to the U.S. if not I will just get another MP-08.
Railguard:
Grimlock looks cool, if I collected these things I would get him.
alien:
love master grimlock!
Peanut04:
Absolutely beautiful. I'm really hoping to get this, but my big item purchases have been put on hold. After getting 2 CC armor sets, preorders on Henkei Thrust, Dirge, and having Shadow Commander on preorder, my big ticket toy budget has been blown. Oh well, where there is a will, there's a way lol.
Ktulu:
That bastard looks amazing
kirk_a:
looks sweet, not sure about the drinks tray.....i wonder if the other dinobots are in line to get the MP treatment?
MrFX:
He looks awesome! Can't wait for March!
Megatronwp38:
nice pictures! Makes me want him a lot more now that I can really see him well.
Robogeek28:
Ohhhh Grimlock you sexy sexy beast!
He looks absolutely perfect, and while I'm sure I'll be hated for this comment, I really hope he has what Screamer had for diecast, which is basically none. *ducks*
Ravenxl7:
Grimlock is looking great, and he looks like he should fit in perfectly with my Classics Autobots. Some may think he'll be too big, but I'd rather have a Grimlock that's a bit too big, than too small, compared to his Autobot bretheren. The waiter set and brain transfer device are interesting, but will be going into my box of extra bits. The crown and sword on the other hand look amazing, and he'll definitely be displayed with both, and his gun (although we haven't seen what that looks like yet).
viper2391:
Did a quick picture of my G2 Prime and Classics Grimlock just for size comparison and it looks like MP Grimlock is BIG! We'll not as big as MP Prime and Megs but at least in the same level as the MP seekers... Kimmer:
cautiously waiting for colored pics before i judge but he does look damn near perfect. could do without some of the gimmicky accessories but not a big deal. wonder what color they'll give his eyes? blue or red?

That way we can choose if we want them to be red or blue. Personally I'll probably go with blue, to have a little contrast between them and his sword.

Is his robot mode generally taller than his dinosaur mode? Other than that this is one awesome MP figure..

I almost always appreciate it on toys and will think, "Cool, diecast!" whenever I discover it on a toy, but it is in no way a prerequisite or deciding factor for me. If Grimmy has some, cool, if not, that's cool too. He looks awesome so as long as he's not made of old Smartees I'll be happy. DeathsHead: Quote:

I always hated the retarded "me Grimlock" bullshit. He was much better written as a grumpy, hard bitten type with a massive chip on his shoulder about pretty much everything; see the UK comics.
But I digress - apart from the crown this is beautiful.
Why is he carrying a tray of drinks?
Golden Age:
Doesn't it look like Grimlock's eyes light up in dino mode? Is it possible that he has a fire-breathing and eye light-up gimmick? Looks good so far...still need to see more, and hoping for decent diecast content.
Darkspeed:
I can't say enough about how awesome I think Grimlock looks! It's everything I've wanted in a Grimmy figure! ^^
In terms of scale, I don't mind if he's smaller than he should be... Can anyone hazard a guess if he's gonna be the same size scale as the Calssic's Ultra's? If so, I'm reckoning he'll make a great replacement for the Deluxe figure! ^^
