Generation 1 Powermaster Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Astrotrain to get Asia Re-reissued

Maybe an MP Astrotrain in the works? I don't see the point in buying these when you can get the same thing MISB on eBay for cheaper.

My God Ginrai has some paint wear on his cab, and a broken ratchet in his cab's hips, so I got excited for this until I saw the price.

Also: on the "mp astrotrain?" rumor... all the other recent re-issues have been turned into MPs shortly aftarward: hot rod, prime, soundwave, sideswipe, etc. So maybe?

I know for awhile prices on Ebay were pretty stupid for both the Takara and Hasbro reissue (like $200 +) but now they seem to have leveled off to about $100 - $120.

I hope Prime and Magnus get long smoke stacks. And I'd like to see Astrotrain in grey opposed to the white. Then I'd buy Astrotrain for sure!

yeah, had it been a cartoon accurate color scheme on Astro train I would have bought him for my boy, but my original G1 version is still in great condition so that will be the one he gets

I wish Optimus wasn't so expensive. Still, better than ebay's prices. I've never owned Powermaster Ops and would love this.

I just bought a junker Magnus like a month ago that I cleaned up. I don't need the reissue now but that would've been awesome back then.

$115 is too much. I bought Japanese reissue new for $50 a few years ago.

Same here, was hoping to snag one below $100. It's not really any better than eBaythough, a bunch of auctions went for about the same price or lower recently. If any, I say they did their research

I already have the reissue Ultra Magnus, but I would like to get the reissue Astrotrain.

Reissues are really that expensive? i got most of the G1s I was interested back just before the first movie came out, and I got a PERFECT Ultra Magnus complete with everything except the box for 50 bucks. In any case, I've been meaning to pick up PM Optimus Prime, so I may bite on that some time in the future.

I've been trying to unload an almost-complete PM Prime for $40 or so for ages, guys.

Always cool to hear about reissues and the like, though they are rarely for me...

They're talking about PM Prime with God Bomber though, so not exactly the same thing, but yeah, a lot of people are also picky about completeness, and being MISB, I mean, look at how high the older re-isses have climbed up recently, some are close to the originals!

I've been looking for that Astrotrain for 3 years for decent price. This is half of what he's going for on ebay. The original G1 goes for about the same.

Had all of these during the original run, sold them because I thought I was done collecting. Will buy all 3, lesson learned.

I hate to say it but this seems like a decent enough price for Astrotrain. Would I prefer an Encore for $30? Absolutely. But eBay has not really been offering any deals on the last reissues that I've seen.

My buddy got the first reissue - the Japanese one in that white box - just last year for around $100. How much was this the first time around at TRU?

It was $50 when it hit TRU around 2002-2003 (in series two with Starscream).

I thought it was right around there but couldn't recall. Ugh.

A quick ebay search shows a few of those for around $115... it's a sad day when retail prices start to creep up to ebay prices. Guess it was just a matter of time. I guess the silver lining is that scalpers might be put out of business? -shrugs-

Yes it is. Ten years ago they charged the God Ginrai reissue $60. I know because it was the first preorder I ever made.

And yet, I think I'm gonna get this one. F*ck my wallet.

I know the price seems high on PM Prime but I keep thinking it's been a DECADE...doesn't it seem like everything has doubled since then? I paid I think $30 for the Optimus reissue in 2002...would expect him to be in the $50-$60 range now. If PM Prime was $60, I think pricing is about where it should be now. Sucks, but it's just the way things are now.

Pretty sure gas was like $1.50 or less back then.

I bought UM, PM, and SS when they came out in 2002 or something, it was the only wave of reissues I saw, I was told by TRU that the line was canceled and never went back to a TRU again until about a year ago... Had I seen astrotrain when I went, I would have bought him too. I gotta get this once they are up for order, I can't do pre-order...

Also, if they 3 I bought were this price then, I would have never bought them..

Nucleon Quest is a TRU Japan exclusive,hence don't think they will reissue that.

Astrotrain, like Sideswipe, never saw a TRU shelf. The former went to HTS and the latter to KB about 2 years after the line ended.

Waiting for RK to list these. Their prices on Prime and Soundwave are much better than BBTS, so I assume it will be the same for these 3, as well.

what people fail to realize these reissues are for the hasbro asia market, that's why they are costing so much
