I'm betting in 25th anniversary packaging. I can only imagine all 4 of these as one box though, for $50. I mean, that's the price of the SDCC reissue Soundwave and he comes with 4 cassetticons on TOP of him being an exclusive.
Grimwing:
Awesome. My vintage perceptor is ridiculously far from complete. It has the scope thankfully. But that's it.
Insecticons with their elusive chrome weapons will be enough to get my interest in them.
For $50 perceptor and the insecticons in a cool box set would be something I'd consider for MISB.
Not sure how well a giant microscope and 3 diaclone bug tanks compliment 25th anniversary prime. But its g1.
MegaHavok:
Nothing new? Bummer. They should have really worked to find something that hasnt been reissued yet
REDLINE:
hu? none of these HAVE been reissued by Hasbro (and that's ALL that counts- why would they care about someone overseas releasing anything at all?)
aussiehippy:
If these come to the UK I will 100% get a Perceptor.
I already have TFC Insecticons, but if they all come as a 4 pack, then I shall have some clones, I guess!
Takara_destron:
If these come to the UK, both are 100% bought!
microclone:
awesome as both those are pretty tricky to get as collection reissues esp the insecticons that command crazy secondary prices.
hopefully the hasbro versions arent too butchered, the takara reissues were solid, perceptor seems especially well made.
Chris McFeely:
Well, that makes a lot of sense, what with ROTF having a character that turns into a microscope and a bunch of robot insects.
rapid_fire:
so lets see how bad they screw them up! just like prime, that no one wants to buy
Trailbreaker77:
Have Perceptor already from TFC but the Insecticons were just to much on e-bay so this is great news for me. If they do come in one box what am I going to do with another perceptor?
Johnator:
Definitely getting these. Great news and I guess I am buying some TFs this year afterall.
Magnus' Mate:
This is amazing news. Fantastic; I had half-expected Hasbro to take the easy route and just reissue a recent Encore or something, but this is better than I could've hoped, esp. given the crazy price of the TFC Insecticon set.
Hurrah!
Stormcrow:
I'm all over the insecticons!
Dys:
Awesome news, but I have to wonder about the chrome on the Insecticons, especially Kickback's wings and Shrapnel's antlers. If Prime's stacks get neutered and the weapons of the Autobots cars get dechromed, how are they going to look? I have no problem with dechromed, I just hope they use a decent colour of paint or plastic.
SlyTF:
YAY! I need more G1 figs!
elkkthunder:
I have the TF Japan Preceptor reissue, also have KO insecticons- so I will likely grab the insecticons
BustaJesse:
Awesome news for those who missed the Takara reissues. I already have both but if the packaging is nice enough, I may pick up a set to keep MISB. Hell I'll pick up the Insecticons regardless to build an army of them.
TGCLightGuard:
That would so look cool with my Encore Metroplex and Encore Omega Supreme...
Do I pray for an Encore release or just buy what I can get...I cannot have both!
DazzalingFury:
This would be awesome for the people who don't actually own one

Can't wait for the re-issues
megatron784:
this is great news, i cant wait.
*Soundwave*:
I think these have something sorta to do with rotf, just my thoughts:
Perceptor-because of his similar alt mode to 'The Doctor' in rotf
Insecticons-because of the insect looking things in the trailer that are believed to be insecticon-like
spoilerified for you people who avoid all rotf details
aey103:
Ahhhhh!!!! Figures they would reissue the Insecticons just after I bought vintage one. Oh well it will be nice to have three minty fresh ones.
And Perceptor...so mine. Hopefully Blaster isn't too far behind, along with Thrust and Dirge!
MWG:
I had both Perceptor and the three Insecticons in the G1 days, but they are all pretty worn out. So this announcement is sweet, and I will be getting them the first time I see them (never saw TRU Soundwave sadly). I hope they aren't $50 a set, but I could see $30 a set.
Incidentally, did anyone notice the bit on the news about TRU buying FAO Schwarz? I saw it in the Yahoo news earlier. Not that I've ever been to an FAO store, but I thought they'd been gone a long time.
+-MWG-+
B-Fox:
Insecticons I'm all over. Not too sure on Perceptor, though.
How rigid or flexible are Shrapnel's chromed antlers? If they were rigid, then they'd likely be unchromed in the worst case scenario, rounded at the tips in the best.
Human Beastbox:
Nothing but good can come from having these guys reissued. Kudos to Hasbro!

And lets hope that they're the first of many to come

. Also, I hope the new Hasbro G1 reissues and TakaraTomy Encore reissues complement each other instead of repeating theirselves.
SoundMaster:
Insecticons? YES
flywheels:
Great news for those who missed Takara's TF Collection releases.

I believe it was Aaron Archer that said at Botcon last year, they will not reissue anything that Tomy hasn't already done.
CDBROWN48:
Sweet >>>>>> I will be getting both of these!!!
slugslinger2004:
Already have all 4 of them. $50 for Perceptor is pretty steep so I think I'll be passing. Cool for those that need them though.

well, but that still leaves a few ones I want, like Hound, Blaster (I think it will see an Encore release though, or else what would be the point of releasing its cassettes? Even considering the TFC one if they expect us to have it there would be not point of re-releasing Steeljaw to have 2), Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, some minibots, Astrotrain in G1 colors (or show accurate), Galvatron, Sixshot, Predaking, etc.

Yeah everyone seems to be forgetting that.
mikeyfuzz:
Very good news!
asderiphel:
I'll probably get both. The Insecticons are a definite buy, and I haven't had a decent condition Perceptor in years.
If they're successful, I wonder how obscure the next round of re-releases will get?
miscreant:
Is it just me, or is $50 for Perceptor or Insecticons an even worse than deal the $70 the slapped on Prime?

They'll be new to a lot of people... but i suspect a large percentage of their perceived target market will be unhappy with the price when they can get leader class Prime for $5.00 less.

The question is, will Perceptor have an oversized missile? or a non functioning launcher?
Yigal:
What about the anti-chrome crap and extended weapons Hasbro always does.
Will they apply for these 2 reissues too??
Doug:
I used to have the G1 original Perceptor and Insecticons. It will be nice to have again.
Thundershot:
Man, it's been a while since this thread first came out... I totally forgot those are CDN prices. Hmmm... Maybe we won't be getting one big set for 50 bucks...
lars573:
Oh it's definatly $49.99 each. That is insecticon 3 pack and Perceptor.
smkspy:
Great news. But at $50 bones each...the revival of reissues is dead before they even get released.
ORIO:
I don't collect g1 stuff anymore.. But damn. Insecticons are damn tempting.
Wasn't Perceptor a shelfwarmer back in the day?
jestermon:
I would love the Insecticons, but Perceptor I am not that interested in, I had some junkers I had won in a lot once getting some other parts for another bot, but they were pretty bad off and I got rid of them.
Hopefully these are not one big set, and are sold individually, so I can pick and choose.
frenzy_rumble:
these are the originals re-released, correct?

I totally agree. And the people thinking all these 4 are going to be released in one set are only fooling themselves. 3 insecticons and perceptor in one box? --- No way.
Even with them being at 50 canadian dollars, at the current exchange rate, it would still be about $45.00, still too high for each in my opinion.
Sledgehammer:
Definitely interested in the Insecticons, but like others, I'm a little disconcerted that A) they'll be dechromed (and subsequently look like boiled gash), and B) they'll be redonkulously overpriced.
Oh, and C) not available in the UK.
Colour me 'awaiting further developments'.
crasis:
WOW! I am so sold on these. these.
I never did complete the trio of Insecticons as a kid (only had Kickback and Bombshell), so this is most welcome news. news.
