You might be familiar with the new TCC subscription service figure Nacelle, who we saw a new promo image of earlier this evening. And you might be somewhat aware of the character’s origins as a prototype version of Thrust from a 1980s Generation 1 catalog.
Posting on Facebook, old friend of TFW TheSpacebridge has shared some images showing both the toy prototype and also some artwork. TheSpacebridge’s post also sheds a bit more light on the background of this character:
Have you wondered where the new TFCC Nacelle figure design originated from? It is actually the original prototype design for the Japanese release of Thrust. Here are some very rare pictures of the toy & the planned box art for it!Check out the pictures – and be sure to check out the other photos shared by TheSpacebridge on Facebook for a look at lots of awesome prototype Transformers and other unreleased gems.

Ah, the mystery continues! I might PM you for more info then, if you don't mind my pestering
Thanks Maz.

Thank you, Matt.
You definitely don't have a Kingdam there, they typically are much darker grey plastic. Hard plastic nose cone too if I remember correctly. That just looks like a G1 Starscream with a transplanted rubsign-mould canopy. Kingdam would have a smooth orange canopy.

I think I accidentally bought one of these at BotCon a few years back, thinking it was a Generation 1 figure. I'm fairly certain it's mashed up with a few different era's parts. This was also my first experience of just not doing any research on my part prior to buying something "vintage."

You continue to be a tremendous resource for the community Maz.

This; I've actually been slightly annoyed that there's never been a Seeker engineered with the option of putting the cone on or taking it off, and I'm fairly certain it's not that hard. That's one of the reason I love the art on commemoritve reissue Dirge (even if it was draw by a jerk who didn't pay his workers). You would essentially just need one more joint so that the cone could go all the way down and stay on the back (which the MP mold does anyway)

I like having the option to use the comic/cartoon head configuration, or the box art configuration. I go back and forth when I have these three out. It's one advantage the G1 versions have.

I've been re-watching Season 2 the last few weeks, and I can assure you the coneheads are in more than a "couple scenes." They are all over the place in that season! I think they appear more than Thundercracker and Skywarp. Ramjet in particular is hilarious, as he really does go around constantly smashing into things.
Anyhow, I like the designs. They look like they are wearing soldiers' helmets from the Middle Ages. It makes them look more thuggish and differentiates them from the three original Seekers. I'll keep the conehead tradition alive and well in my collection, thanks.
As for the various Nationalistic stuff in this thread, I can only hope that most of it is meant sarscastically, because otherwise….. yikes.
Anyway, again, super cool seeing this G1 prototype image, thanks for posting it!

Get 'em Maz!

A shame that's the only thing you noticed about an article that took me a few years to research and days to write back when very few people gave a toss about stuff like this. Thanks for your feedback, I'll continue to pose them as coneheads, cheers.
It could very well be that your folks bought you the North American bootleg "Kingdam F15" which was a direct KO of the Japanese Diaclone Hi-Speed Fighter (Starscream), same box design and deco but slight differences like orange canopy and grey tailfins.
Thanks very much, that article has been online on my site for what must be approaching 8 years now, but it's nice to see stuff coming out now that can bring fresh relevance to old discoveries

The USA took its colors from Britain. If you want to blame someone, blame the British.

So this was a real deco?
Wow, and here I was thinking it was just made up by the club. I guess the old saying is true, you DO learn something new every day.
