Atomic Laser, who made the reproduction sets for the Generation 1 1984 Tech Specs, returns with volume 2 in a two part set for year 1985. The Tech Specs have been digitally recreated from the ground up as new super clean high resolution artwork. The art has been fine tuned. Color matching ensures consistency throughout every card in the set. The “coding” on this set is done in the 1985 style. It’s a set of 22 cards, covering the remaining section of Generation 1, and if you like what you can see, you can purchase it at our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store and TFSource.

Me likey… and maybe I DO have money to burn.
Thanks SQ7!

Sure. I know the artist is going through some pains to try to make the artwork and such look the best they can.
Yeah, I'd definitely compare the sets to "repro" G1 things and never attempted to make a "G1-G1" comparison myself.
bfj, have you posted a review of your set in the Feedback section? I know I'd like to read it, as it seems you've been able to examine these first hand.

Plus, with it being third party, I doubt they paid licencing fees or what not.

That's the point. These are not vintage. Comparing the cost of these to vintage is like comparing a MISB G1 to a MISB KO.
Topps Opening Day baseball cards on similar stock cost $1 for a pack of 7 cards, and they had to pay MLB licensing fees. Doing the math, that is $3 for 21 cards, nowhere near the $30 being asked for 22 tech spec cards. I just can't see how making these costs enough to justify the price. And before anyone uses the "but he's doing this in his garage and costs are higher bit," enough are being made to use vendors for the product. That sounds like mass production to me.
sh002
pass. i'd pay that much for replica boxes instead.
Megatron31
maybe he had to pay a liscense fee?
anyway these are pretty cool for some collectors who want to complete some of the figs they lost the paperwork too.
but i thnk it would be awesome if someone could do this for the classics figs (i would but im not that graphically inclined)

I know vintage ones are expensive. Trust me, I know. I'm just saying that reprints should not be that much, since anyone with a good printer and quality cardboard can print them.
Superquad7
Shop vintage, look for nice ones, then come back.
DecepticonSpike
$30 does seem a bit steep for replicas.

I thought this was gonna cover how TF babies are made.
An Army of Bees
I thought this was going to be about some sort of giant add-on gun set.
