Looks fine to me! Glad I preordered it already.
e3nine:
OH WOW. The Minibots AREN'T the TFC ones. That is fantastic. SPLIT LIP:
Those Mini-bots look pretty decent, I was kinda hoping for the S1 figs instead of those S3 reject characters, but still, I might just get it for Bumblebee and Outback, because I kinda like him. Omega's face... where is it? I can barely make out something under there but I'm not sure what.
Chosen:
I guess anyone complaining about a visible face doesn't have to worry too much. I can't see a thing.
Please tell me that promo shot of Astrotrain is not accurate, otherwise I bought a Classics gun for nothing!
Fosterlager:
Tailgate is SO white, whiter than I think he originally was made in. Beautiful!
Not liking Bumble's headlights though.
The Wombat King:
Wish they had of made Omega's face window thing clear instead or orange. It obscures his face too much.
Codimus Prime:
Hmmm should I buy the Minibots just to get a faced Bumblebee?
Or should I just get Omega Supreme?

Not liking Bumble's headlights though. | But what about Bumble's bling-bling chrome bumper? TakaraTomy must have had some chrome left over from the Henkei line keebs:
I wonder what the packaging will look like for the minibots?
lookinglasself:
Man, Omega and Henkei Astro/Rodimus look great!! Omega's face is a bonus.
I don't know why, but I just can't get interested in the Minibots. I would have preferred the TFC versions.
NGW:
Really wish OS didn't have the face. I just, don't like the look of it. I always liked him having just the visor, not some creepy human-esque face.

Wow... Omega Supreme's face ... it looks almost exactly like the vintage version. I expected more.
Glad to see confirmation of Outback's gun on Encore's Mini-bots set. SO. BOUGHT. Were they the same mini-bots from TFC, I would've passed.
Omega is a "may be", depending on how different it looks in person.

grock35:
whoa bb has headlight and a whole lotta chrome...i'm happy i decided to pre order those...but that means i still need to find a tfc version of bb Johnator:
All awesome! I am glad he has an obscure face. That is how I pictured Omega's face being. Good deal.
Feralstorm:
Still can hardly see any face in that Omega pic.
Is that a real pic of Henkei Hot Rodimus, or a placeholder shot of the Hasbro version? The only difference I can tell so far is the end of the gun isn't painted in that pic, while on the Hasbro toy it's silver.
butz:
Aw, I was hoping to see something about the Jetrons Fosterlager: Quote:

Hopefully have the Autobot insignia on the chest too
SydneyY: Wait, I've just read the article where it mentions the new BT, and it says;
"The quality is still the same, but appparently the figures are going to be released in smaller, more collectable size" (The article uses a word "Downsize") WTF
Dinobot Nuva:
Wow...I'm getting more and more tempted to nab that Astrotrain, and I NEVER buy imports...

Wasn't there a prototype for a small alternator Smokescreen displayed ay Botcon a few years ago. I wonder if thats what the "smaller" size is.

I was hoping for S1 figs too. Goldbug would make more sense in this merry bunch.

I was all set to cancel my pre-orders soon, having deemed these figures redundant and unnecessary. But now I'll hold on to them, in case they really are smaller molds. I'm intrigued!
Greyryder:
Except, Goldbug was a Throttlebot.
Bumblebee has been unapealing since 1984, and the cartoon accurate face makes it all the worse.
I want that Pipes, though.

I SO hope that's true!!!! One of my biggest problems with Alternators was that they were all cars; as they were set to the 1/24th scale, they couldn't really fit in with other lines, which had things other than cars. If these are even close to deluxe scale, I can have Alternator figures to interact with my Classics! I wouldn't hold my breath on Hasbro ever importing them, but this is a case where I would gladly pay the import cost!!

Edit: Just noticed the supposedly 'scaled-down' Alternators. Wow. I might actually give a damn about those stupid things if this is true. I could see that Meister becoming a popular and cheaper alternative for a Classics Jazz than the BotCon exclusive.
Lucs:
Wonder how small smaller is. I'm sure they'll be sweet either way but I was already planning on customizing them for my collection. After hearing this I may have to hold off on getting my hopes up. If they are deluxe or a bit bigger they will fit in with my classics I suppose
Kind of a bummer if they are smaller but carry the 1:24 scale price tag
Last thought on this for me is if they are smaller, what if Hasbro puts all the alts out again in the smaller size, I'd have to start all over again on customizing them Good Times!
Noisemaze:
I can't really tell much from that pic. I'll have to wait to see Omega in person. It doesn't look too bad right now.
I'm glad I have Omega & Astrotrain pre-ordered. Those are the best looking things on that page.
Zapp Brannigan:
I like the extra detail on Bumblebee. Painted eyes and headlights = win.
Omega Supreme's face reminds me of Samus Aran...
Fit For natalie:
Something to bear in mind about these possibly smaller BTs: at 1:24 these toys were already quite difficult for collectors to transform, and were quite fragile. At a smaller scale (but at the same complexity), they'd be even harder to transform, so let's hope that IF they are smaller, TakaraTomy simplified the design and transformation.
General Tekno:
That is true, Fit_For_Natalie.
If they are somewhat simplified, and they still look good, I might get Jazz though.
Then wait for the Reprolabels set to have the Classics Jazz.
Railguard:
I dunno, I wasn't really a fan of Omega Supreme of the G1 era, he was too big and bulky, the cartoon version rocked but the toy was eh.
Chaos Convoy:
It just says "downsizing." I think that could mean the line as a whole. As in downsizing the number of releases, not the toys themselves. It still mentions the 1/24th scale though.
Fit For natalie:
That makes sense, because making existing toys smaller/bigger is as expensive as making a brand new toy (minus the cost of conceptualisation and design), from what we've heard.

1/24 is mentioned because that was the scale of the BT so far.
It says, "same quality, downsized to easier to collect size". In this context "size" is not a production number, but the scale KA:
can't see a damn thing of that pic of omega's mug. needs mo betta pix.

That's interesting, and from what Kickback has told us, quite costly. I really hope they simplified the engineering then, because making big complete toys smaller presents lots of problems.
Ricochet:
BTW, this scan isn't from Figure-Oh. just confirmed at bookstore.
IACON:
Best news of the week!
So happy I pre-ordered him!
Automorpher:
Omega Supreme has a FACE! He has a FACE! He has a..Err..FACE??..
..That can't really be seen CLEARLY as of now.
Henkei Astro Choos on the other hand is a MUST GET!
Encore Minibots are GREAT additions but somehow Bumblebee's redundant. TakaTom should've replace him with a new character.
cypherstorm:
A friend just read the clipping for the BT toys... he says there is nothing about downsizing... the article is just mentioning: Binaltech IS 1/24 scale supposedly "the best collectible size". the rest of it is just embellishing words to sell the toy.
I'm still getting them.. ha!
Weirdwolf:
Minibots, Omega, and Music Label Convoy, oh my! Wanna get 'em all!
SydneyY: Quote:

I'm still getting them.. ha! | *sigh*
My Japanese is better than my English stevej:
I really hope this is nonsense about the BTs being smaller. I was going to pass on these 2 anyway but I'm still hoping for a few characters to show up, even if just repaints, to boost my collection. At a smaller scale they won't fit in with ANY line I own. Given the still-higher-than-the-early-BTs price and the fact that those pics look EXACTLY like the 1/24 scale molds I think the "smaller scale" idea is bollocks... No matter what it says. Makes much more sense if they're talking about either the line being scaled down or maybe the packaging size?
Oh well. Omega Supreme was already on order - can't wait for that even more now... And despite the season 3 minibots being a bit, well, crap, I still might bite... Even though TFC Bumblebee was fine.
Shame there's still no news on the next Masterpiece.
Steve.
