TFW2005 will be running a Featured Ebay Auction every so often. We used to do this before, and it always generated a ton of interest, but it was always tough to keep up. With a renewed focus, and hopefully some fun, cool or rare auctions, we can keep this going on a regular basis.
Today we have a Japanese Generation 1 C-311 Grand Maximus mint in sealed box (MISB) from seller ksgj03. Always fun to see the rarer of the “Holy Trinity” (Fortress Maximus, Grand Maximus, Brave Maximus) sealed.
You can also check out the other Japanese Transformers as well. If you have or see an Ebay auction that you think would work as a Featured Ebay Auction, why not post it in our Transformers On Ebay Forum.

Yikes! 3K!
It makes what I paid for mine (under 1K) back in '02 feel like a bargain.
And mine's now open.
That'll be a sight to see. What will be your store name in Botcon?
One of the better eBay auctions I've seen … though I gotta ask: wasn't the USS Flagg released in 1985? IIRC, G.I.Joe's big toy for 1987 was the Defiant Space Complex.

Blue Meanie
Behold my permanently imprisoned flawless sealed GrandMax, it may have rocks in it, it may not, who knows.
Da_Last_2_Walk
Not really a debate…..you either collect MISB, loose or both. There is no correct way to collect.
Just because there isn't a window, doesn't mean that the item is broken or missing.
As a MISB collector, there are ways to tell if a box has been opened, even if it has been resealed. The tape in your kitchen drawer isn't necessarily the same tape used back then.
Janitor
While I'm not going to get into the whole MISB vs. free-them-from-their-plastic-prison debate, I never understood MISB for windowless toys, and it gets even riskier with the bigger/higher-priced ones. I think someone here mentioned you won't even know if it's damaged or not (whether the owner deceptively took it out & re-sealed or it just legitimitely broke in the box, we'll never know).
TBH all you need to be a MISB collector is a hairdryer and some regular-ass tape. OMG did I just blow your mind?! Just playin'…but honestly, seems too risky for me

How much do we reckon the Fort Max KO is gonna cost?
If a Wheeljack goes for $40 or whatever, it's gonna have to be hundreds.
PrimulArchangel
Once the KO Fort Max comes out this year , you know they are going to do a Grand Max version as well and maybe even Brave Max.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Hmmmmmmmm ever wonder WHY it that been the case?!!! :

I have brave maximus… would love to get my hands on a Grand Maximus.

man some people have a lot of luck

FM reissue? nope, not yet. Prolly talking about a hong kong special release which is still takara.
ams
Right, excluding rumors of the upcoming KO, of course.
And yeah, FM was released in China in 1993… as it was the first time it was available in that country, and was produced under license from Takara, it's neither a bootleg, KO, or a reissue. It's also not any less authentic than the previous versions.
wildfly
^ at the risk of stating something you know already, there's rumors going around about a reproduction along the lines of Swoop, the Wheeljack that shipped with no stickers on the doors etc.
There's also a reference to a FM released in China in the early 90s, which i'm hazy on.
ams
I appreciate the energy in your auction description, but that's not correct. While there were TWO releases of FM (a US release and the C-114 Japanese release), there's no full-size KO, bootleg, or reissue on record. Are you referring to his Japanese release as a "reissue"?
If you can link to any conclusive proof, I'll happily apologize, but I own every version of this toy, and in the twenty years I've been collecting, have never seen or heard of a full-size KO.
Yobuster
YEah the Fort Max auction by Deceptichop is definitely one of the funniest auctions i have ever seen.
*sigh makes me look at my own Fortmax. Unfortunately mine has since yellowed with age and an unforunate sticker scrape incident.
Alung
Ditto.
Triggerhappy
One of the finest and funniest ebay auctions I've EVER seen!!!
Oracle_Aesir
you could even live in it!
wildfly
I asumed he was refering to Brave Max.
The Deceptichop
there is a reissue FM. Im selling my FM right now and i explain the reissue in my item description
