Co-writers Chris Ryall, who also wrote the Transformers Movie Prequel, and Chris Mowry present a tale of intrigue, betrayal, and dark ambition, featuring both old and new Transformers characters. "The movie left fans with some questions at the end, and we get a chance to answer them here," says Ryall. "We pick up on what happened at the end and reveal the fates of some of the surviving film characters. Take Starscream - we find out where he was headed and what he was doing. We also introduce new characters. In doing so, we bridge the gap between the last movie and the next movie, coming in '09."<br />

In the first issue of the five-part comic series, when Megatron falls in battle Starscream assumes the role of Decepticon leader on Earth. Mustering his surviving allies, he sets out to put his own plan in motion. But before he can do that, he'll need to retrieve a fallen comrade, carry out a plan of revenge and leave Earth to meet up with a major player in the Decepticon army. <br />

The Reign of Starscream #1 features art from fan-favorite Alex Milne, who also illustrated the Transformers Movie Adaptation, and cover art by Milne and Gabriel Rodriguez, artist for Joe Hill's Locke &amp; Key. A special variant cover has also been created by longtime Transformers artist James Raiz.<br />

PAWTUCKET, R.I., AUGUST 24, 2004 â€“ Hasbro announced today that it is donating a truckload of toys and games to benefit children affected by Hurricane Charley.  <br />

Toy and game donations will be distributed to American Red Cross emergency shelters primarily in the Punta Gorda area, one of the hardest hit regions in Florida.  Preliminary damage assessments by the Red Cross indicate that at least 31,114 homes were destroyed or suffered major damage as a result of the storm making them uninhabitable and displacing thousands of families with children. Donations also will reach victims through emergency aid stations and other outreach efforts set up by the Red Cross.<br />

In Japan, the DUEL MASTERS Trading Card Game has ranked #1 in toy and game category sales for the past 11 consecutive months, according to Weekly Toy News.  DUEL MASTERS has already hit the U.S. market with a comic book series by Dreamwave, creators of the best-selling TRANSFORMERS comic book series.  In late February, the DUEL MASTERS animated series debuts on the Cartoon Network, followed by Wizards of the Coastâ€™s U.S. introduction of a trading card game in March.   The toys and games will follow beginning in fall 2004. In addition to the success of the toy line, HPGâ€™s MY LITTLE PONY publishing program was a huge hit in 2003 with over one million storybooks sold from Harper Collins (master publisher), Publications International, and Bendon Books. The story is a progression of last yearâ€™s SPYTROOPS adventure and it will come to life like never before with the direct-to-video release of â€œG.I. JOE: VALOR VS. VENOM,â€? a new full-length feature packed with thrilling, non-stop action.  The movie will be available in DVD and VHS this fall from Paramount Home Entertainment.  One of the biggest marketing programs in the history of the G.I. JOE brand will support VALOR VS.
