My thoughts, in a nutshell: An AWESOME figure that is well worth its price.

It seems like you really dont need another one, and i understand lols. i dont think ill open them anytym soon, but the thing that excites me is both toy is still unknown to me i never had any versions of them. i was supposed to skip prime but i cant resist to have them both especially with the packaging, was also surprised with the weight of prime. but one thing is for sure im happy with both of them.

He does man. Kinda feel bad for Project Genesis, though.

I think you won't be disappointed if you do decide to open them, even with Prime. Especially since this version look better than the original. Colors are more cohesive, and more "Prime."

And yeah, keeping these sets MISB is something to think about, given the excellent packaging. But I had to have him in hand, it's my first experience with the mold.

The instructions are kinda crappy. Sorry for the stupid question, but how do I switch on the left arm's light and sounds gimmick?

I think they fucking neutered the guy. I tried to access his battery compartment, and lo and behold, a weirdly shaped screw notch that does not fit any of my screwdrivers. Not cool Hasbro. Definitely NOT COOL.

I was going to ask if this have the same light up gimmick like the older version but even the reviewers didnt really bother how the gimmick works. also is it really a battery compartment? with a screw notch like that? tnx for keeping updated with this figure interested with your progess on the review.

I'm pretty confident that it is the battery compartment because the other side of the forearm here (side that is visible in this pic)

Holy shit!! Did they really do that?!?! that's like locking the fat kid in the car and going into McDonald's...holy shit. You can turn those with a good detail screwdriver set, but the correct one NEEDS to be the perfect length, otherwise you can round that screw. I would suggest get that thing out, and replace it with another screw.

He looks pretty good, but would all those gold-yellow colored plastic on him be subject to GPS? I'm not too familiar with it.

That's a big mama-jama! He looks pretty cool but I'm still unsure where he would fit in my collection, even against Raged Hercules.

He looks nice. I was going to get that 3rd Party guy, but the pictures have changed my opinion,. He's going to look a lot better with my Omega Sentinel anyways.

I think that's just gold-ish paint. Simple paint can't fall victim to GPS. As far as I know....

I actually already transformed him to alt mode, but there really isn't much to say about those two vehicles. He's now back in bot mode. And I was too lazy to take pics...

Yes, but freely, no ratchet. It can be spun like a wheel.

Great review, love your pics! Interested in seeing if you found anything new with the vehicle mode. Perhaps a way to partially recreate his old alt mode?

I'll be definitely getting this since I have at hand Energon Omega Supreme...now dubbing Omega Maximus. I do know what to expect, so great pictures and thoughts about it.

Thanks guys! Nothing new in alt mode, just colors and the claw. I don't think they're bad, I just think bot mode is much awesomer.

Try to use an "allen wrench" or one of those "star-shaped" screwdrivers. If you have a precision screwdriver kit there, try to use the ones which are not the flat-heads and not philips type.

He looks pretty great. Energon Omega Supreme was one of my favorite molds from that line. If I still collected Classics I would totally pick this one up.

I'm waiting for BBTS to get this in stock. I have about $50 store credit so I'll only have to pay about half price.

Nice! I forgot how big Energon OS is. The paint scheme and remolded parts definitely look good, but I miss the headmaster gimmick. This will be bought ASAP!

I think the most suitable opponents for him would be Unicron and Hercules. Giant can try, but he'd be ripped to shreds. A tag-team of Giant and FP Colossus would be better

I'm guessing that Omega's official size is Supreme class like Cybertron Starscream or is he bigger than that?

So excited for this. Probably the last big hurrah for me before I stop collecting for awhile.

The only thing I wish they did was create some tracks for his back. Other then that, I am more then happy with this guy. Saves me at least $200 to not buy the 3rd Party one.

Also, these Alt mode pics are great too. I like the Aircraft carrier/train update. Don't mind it so much.

I think an easy 3rd Party upgrade kit can be made for this guy:
- Replacement head (for those who want that)
- Tracks for the back
- Possible new hand, but G1 never had a hand (Mitten hand is fine with me)

BTW, how did you guys get it so early?

I do like the train mode a lot better in this version. Looks like something from a Godzilla movie. The combined vehicle mode makes me think this figure could also easily be remolded into Skorpinok, while retaining the headmaster gimmick.

Can we get a picture combined with the Energon Prime mold?

You know its amazing that one of OS vehicle modes looks like a maser cannon either separated or combined..its awesome. Skeeve, you definitely hit the nail on the head on what you said it just took me awhile to realize that. And also I think a 3rd party upgrade for this figure would be cool.

Omega does come with Missiles right? I'm not seeing them loaded in the pictures.

I am so on the fence with this guy.

Pros:
- love the mold
- the new arm looks great
- fits perfectly with WFC/FOC

Cons:
- I thnk the head is too small
- I really worry about all the gold/brown/mustard plastic

Welcome to my world. I have ONE shelf for giant figures set aside, but so far only one (ROTF Jetfire) is there. I want Omega, but I don't want him separated from my WFC/FOC figures and the price is just killing me. 20 dollars cheaper, and I would be leaning more towards making the investment

I think they made the head small was to create the illusion of him being massively powerful and those colored plastics you mentioned its actually paint, so that might ease your conscience a little.

Can't wait to get this guy. I remember during the time of Energon that they (Hasbro) toyed with the idea of making one half of the body a rocket, but decided to do a Battleship instead. Too bad they didn't do it this go around...but I guess even remolding the battleship portion might have driven the price up to undesirable levels.

Nice pics! Won't be picking this up unless there are any left in stock at Amazon and they do a crazy $40-50 off like Jetwing Prime. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat for 50-60 bucks.
