This DVD box set will apparently contain the entire Cybertron series of 51 episodes. No box art or information on extras is available yet, but the DVDs will be presented in full screen format with at least English audio. The running time given for the contents is 19 hours and 4 minutes. We'll update the news as box art and other information are released.

oh freaking sweet.
I'm not a huge fan of the voice acting, but the figures and story were top notch.
Fosterlager:
This is great news! Megatronwp38:
cool, ill get it and finally see it all.
Dolza_Khyron:
woot! good because this is a good sign then, that animated might get put on dvd soon lol! or at least someday lol
Tim Formas:
Nice. Hopefully, Energon isn't far behind.
Fr33domgundam:
I would buy this set only if it included the original Japanese audio track, but that's probably wishful thinking. The only US voices that I really liked were Gary Chalk's and David Kaye's roles; but I've come to be accustomed to Kusunoki Taiten's voice as Galaxy Convoy anyways.
Prowl:
Sweet news, it's about time. And unlike some of the other ported shows, the writing in this one actually showed an attempt at making the dialogue understandable. The VO work was great, and the music was sweet too. Can't wait for this... 19 hours of Transformers OO
swarlock:
Pass. I'll wait until Animated gets released as a box set.
Lumpy:
i hope this means animated season one will be released soon too...cuz that i'd buy right away...cybertron i'd have to think about for awhile...
Transbot90210:
Amazing news.
Now all we need is R.I.D. and Energon and the American series will all be on DVD.
Very exciting news.
Thanx
Transbot90210
flywheels:
Never saw more than a handful of CYB episodes as I didn't have cable at the time...so this news is welcomed.
Deceptigtar:
be nice if we could get a release of some series in blu ray.
SuperPrimalZ:
Awesme!
Wonder if it'll be bi-lingual(highly unlikely), or will have "Fallen" for 1 hour, instead of half, since Voice Box did dub the other half, so it's not unlikely to think they could have to whole hour episode. This is funny though, because I was just looking at my TV Recordings from YTV of the last episode.
Grimwing:
Yeah. For those of you who hav'ent watched it straight through cybertron is a really addictive experience and the only one of the unicron trilogy I can stand to watch multiple episodes without a break.
Paramount. eh? Sold, I'm glad paramount is putting out some children's tv shows as boxsets and not just those random episode disks.
I hope a official g1 release is in the works. I know the licenses are up in the air. But it would be really dreamily sweet to walk into wal mart pick up "The Original Transformers season one" and the universe 2.0. figures.
drool.
tusko:
Great news. I'll be picking this up.
SuperPrimalZ:
Grimwing- You can still find Rhino's old G1 releases online.
We need R.i.D though, but thanks to Disney, we may never have an R1 boxset.
grayman:
This is great news for me. They can count on me buying a set. I hope that it leads to Energon and R.I.D. being released at some point.
Repainted:
Great news. Don't like the Cartoon Network ads popping up through my existing dvd-r set. I thought TFC was very underrated. If further TF DVD sets follow (RiD, Animated, Energon) close behind, this'll be even more momentum heading into the Transformers Movie Sequel next year.
Alpha Prime:
that's pretty cool...i'd like to have energon and RiD more than cybertorn though...oh well, this is good to : )
ILoveDinobot:
wait, it doesn't say america anywhere does it? I doubt it will be a region 1 release.
Soundwave84:
sweet i still have to get armada!
PowerConvoy:
Sweeet! I can't stand buying different volumes that only have a few episodes each.
Give me whole seasons at a time or even better, the whole show all at once like this! I will definitely be picking this one up.
Deefuzz:
Great news. Now how about RID that you keep skipping over!?!?
And I guess we need an Energon release too jerks!

Definately not Japan, since it is being called Cybertron, and features English Dialogue. Could be Europe, but I doubt it, since I'd think there would be a mention or something. Since I do believe Cybertron didn't air on Cartoon Network in the UK. Quote: |

Ironhide2005:
People are actully excited for this? That show was a pile of c##p!

Originally Posted by ILoveDinobot wait, it doesn't say america anywhere does it? I doubt it will be a region 1 release. | TVShowsOnDVD.com is usually pretty accurate with their reporting. If the release is international and/or a non-US release, they'll usually make a note of it.
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be a Region 1 release. With the popularity of Transformers right now, why wouldn't they release it? If they can actually get the mass discount chains (Wal*Mart, Target) to carry this, money in the bank.
Fit For natalie:
The only thing that makes me said is that Cybertron was released during the time when Dreamwave had since collapsed and IDW had only just started working on TF comics, so there is very little artwork available for Cybertron (other than the packaging art), and it's highly unlikely for Paramount to use the awesome Japanese DVD art. The Energon cartoon itself is the worst of the english-language Transformers shows. Quote:

Transbot90210 | RID has already been released in the UK, but is unlikely to be released in the US because (as I understand it) the rights in North America are owned by Disney, procured when they scooped up Saban.
hXcpunk23:
As for Cybertron coming to DVD finally, that's cool. I never got to see all of it (or Energon or Armada for that matter--only saw handfuls of episodes of each due to work). So any transformers DVD's are welcome, imho. Better than nothing, right?
lightdestroyed:
One would hope that it would at least have English audio. Hahahaha.
Railguard:
Hey...cool. I actually liked the Cybertron series, it wasn't great but it was cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
Fit For natalie:
Transformerstransformers - Go!

Optimus62:
Sounds pretty good. I never got to watch the entire series. I may have to buy it, depending on the price.
SmokescreenGT:
Very cool. I only saw bits and pieces of the Cybertron series here and there, but not that much. Not even an entire episode. So, this'll give me the chance to see the whole thing. Hopefully, the set won't cost too much.
Laser_Optimus:
Very nice! I'll definently be picking up this boxset. Hopefully this does well so that Paramount will release Animated in boxset format as well and not just episode releases.
Where's Energon though? Though, I really only want it for completions sake... the series falls apart about half way through when the plot restarts around episode 25 or so...
RID... well, we're not likely to get that... and I can't import that region free DVD set, because I don't have a PAL converter and I'm not going to go buy a region free DVD player just so I can watch one series. If Hasbro were smart they'd either work something out with Disney or buy back the distribution rights.
Also, wasn't there word when Paramount re-released the original movie that they were going to re-release the original series as well? I'm happy with my Kid Rhino versions, but if they could get ahold of the actual aired footage rather than the imcomplete that was used... I'd be a happy camper...
Night Flame:
That's cool. Hopefully we get Energon too. I've lost all hope of ever seeing RID.
Maybe, FINALLY we'll start getting full box sets again. YAY!

Holy crap, somebody who likes the show!
I actually liked the first 7 episodes, then it starts to slowly go down hill, and then becomes an unstoppable avalanche after they kill off Demolishor and immediately resurrect him as a gorilla truck.
Valkysas:
I'm glad that they're releasing it, but there's no way in hell I'm getting it. I prefer the Galaxy Force version of the show by far. dialogue and music were much better (especially with the final battle)

I'm going on that assumption, based on the fact that I purchased the region free set of Headmasters and it plays fine. Besides, there are a lot of DVD players out there that can be hacked to play any region. Yours could be one of them.
Dark Prime:
This is good news if it does happen.
I wonder though if this will be 51 or 52 episodes. At 22 minutes an episode, 52 eps works out to 19 hours and 4 minutes. At 22 minutes and 43 seconds, that works out to 51 episodes. Hmmm...

Transbot90210 | You know, I hated RID when I first saw it, but I think I have been desensitized by Armada and Energon, so I would be very interested in rewatching them.
Also, will they still have Episode 1 and 2 as one (seeing as how I have seen the complete English Episode 2, or will it separate them into both? There were some awesome scenes in Episode 1 Quote:

Call me what you will, but I hate hearing all the dialogue in Japanese show. I like what they did with the cast in Cybertron. The music, however, is a whole 'nother thing. While the themes used were the same, the music that played when Hot Shot won the race was a helovalot better in the japanese show, as was the dramatic music in the last episode. I was so pissed that they took the race-winning music out and replaced it with some jazzy crappy tune that didn't even match the action.
Big Bot:
RID is a lot better after seeing AEC. The dubbing feels professional, the animation consistent and more stuff seems to happen.

Another reason for not bothering is the fact RID is probably the most obscure US series. Quote: |

| That wasn't Paramount, that was Sony. From what I recall, the rights to the G1 DVDs in North America are in limbo since Sony shut down Sony Wonder, who released the original movie.
Broadcast masters are not in great condition. The Madman G1 set released last year uses the same broadcast video from the UK Maverick set, and, well, the years have not been kind to G1.
Fairlady_Z:
Sold. I liked Cybertron, not loved, but liked it. The Dobson Bros were great in it.
Why is EVERYTHING I want on DVD coming out in July!?!
Batman Anime
Robin Hood S2
Zorro/Lone Ranger Vol. 2
Stargate: Continuum
SG Atlantis S4
Birds of Prey Complete Series
Witchblade Complete Series
And now Cybertron!
It's not fair, I tell you, just not fair! And I'm going to be broke from all the new TF Animated Toys coming out in June anyway! Assuming I've even recovered from BotCon by then.
walruslaw:
Id prob give this a miss unless it has some special features. Hopefully it will be the same as the malaysian version with 4 episodes to a disk with a choice of 5.1 and 2.0 audio as the picture quality was the best iv seen from a standard definition DVD.
def want someone to release Energon on DVD as its the only series of US Transformers never to recieve a full series release and the only full series i dont own.
on a side note i just recived my copy of Transformers Theme song collection dvd and it has several openings/endings missing (Beast wars II,Beast wars II movie, NEO and Car robots). the missing openings include the beast wars II part of the Beast wars Special movie however the openings for the beast wars recap and beast wars metal movie are included? this could indicate that takara dont have the animation rights to the missing series from this dvd and therefore cannot release them.
