Surprise surprise. Local hobby shop has the wave 2 in stock, but only 1 per figure. I was going to get Black Spider-Man and Wolverine but Spidey is sold out. So I get Wolverine only...
Vehicle Mode

Back View
Our favorite Canadian Mutant transforms into a yellow and blue 'rally truck'. Unlike Spidey's bike mode, the yellow and blue work pretty well together. Wolverine is quite heavy in vehicle mode and quite large too. Well worth the price.
Transformation is fairy complicated. Pretty satisfying transforming it into mech mode. However, transforming back to vehicle mode is a bit hard, although not Venom level of hard. Some parts just don't want to stay together. Might need a few tries to get the transformation right
Mech Mode

With claws
Instant recognizable as Wolverine. Its design is almost identical with its comic version. Good articulations, no loose joints. A bit difficult to make it stand straight because of its small feet, but no problem in some action pose. Wolverine has pop-out claw feature. Press a button and the claw will put up. Neat. Too bad the claw is made in one single plastic instead of 3 separated ones.
Overall, another nice addition to the line. Good vehicle mode, nice transformation and Wolverine himself as the mech mode! Recommended!
Optimus Sledge:
Looks pretty good. Any chance you could take a picture with him next to a TF?
Peaugh:
Yep, definitely going to have to pick him up at some point.

Nice review. I've seen wave 1 figures in the stores before, they're heavy for sure.
Sso02V:
I wish they did something with the tires on his back, like turned them sideways to bulk up his shoulders.
DJCHARTERS:
cheers for this review, ill defo be bashing this guy into classics trailbreaker!
AniProwl:
I'm assuming he will be in stores soon, right?
Dremare:
Wolverine's Canadian? Didn't know that.
AniProwl:
Can't wait to get this guy and Animated Shockles.
Isn't the mech's color scheme reminscent of Wolverine's Astonishing X-Men costume
When is this guy supposed to come out?
Coicedentally, the first exclusive look at it came almost a week after the latest X-men toon popped up in Wolvie's home nation.

With a new head and some paint I can see that as Gears no problem

Yellow fists are weird. Cool otherwise! Thanks for the review and pictures shibamura_prime:
Thanks for the review, it answered all my questions and then some. ^_^
Wolvie'll definitely be the first Marvel Crossover I pick up now.
Detour:
Neat.
But I can't help but wonder if they'll do a redeco into his Brown costume...
That'd definitely make for a better-looking truck mode.
seeker311:
I still cant get into this line dark69:
he looks cool but wish he was black and silver
Nevermore: Quote:

Good review. This is the only Marvel TF I've considered getting. If there was a sweet Sabertooth I'd love to get both

Wolvy might just be a buy for me.....I just have to get the money first... catch22:
Definitely getting this one. Too bad they aren't smaller so they would be in scale with Classics though...so much kitbash potential (plus they'd be $10 and not $15)

As a Canadian, I get a perverse pleasure out of knowing that comic books' most prominent Canuck is an obnoxious, uncouth, cigar-puffing psychotic killer. Quote:

I grew up with the brown/tan costume, so I always find the blue/yellow one a bit glaring. Quote:

That'd definitely make for a better-looking truck mode. | Agreed... I've already seen a photo from some sort of Con or Hasbro display with this figure painted in the browns... with touches of olive green too. If they actually do that repaint, he'll make good fodder for a Roadbuster custom... maybe Outback. Quote:
Originally Posted by seeker311 I still cant get into this line | I know what you mean. The only reason I get excited about these is because of the potential they have to be customized into traditional TFs (and because they're actually really well-designed). However, as much as I love superhero comics, I just can't get into the idea of Marvel characters as Transformers. Too goofy for me. Quote:

If you want to bash Hulk into Grimlock or Iron Man into a Seeker, then they are actually a much better scale for Classics than the real Classics Seeker and Grimlock molds.
The official molds for some of the Deluxe Classics just seem way too small for the characters they're supposed to represent.
Which is why Wolvie here might make a good Roadbuster... Roadbuster always seemed like he should be sort of big.

Zaraxion1021:
Wolverine? I might buy it even though i only have one crossovers toy in my collection. kaizer3000:
i saw him along with Grey Hulk, Black Spidey n Human Torch at a hobby shop in my local area and stupidly refused to get him on the spot...
i went there 4 days later and Wolvie was SOLD OUT!!! I was like WTH?!??!
Note : Wolvie was the only original TF Crossover in wave 2...Grey hulk was grey tank (same mold as Hulk in wave 1), Black Spidey was Racing Bike (same mold as Spidey from wave 1) n Human Torch was jet plane (modified slightly from Iron Man's mold)
Jarodimus:
Hmm. The scruffy Canuck looks better than I was expecting. May get him, after all. Quote:

JL | I was thinking Overhaul actually.

I'm surprised people are still under the impression that Torch is a retooled Iron Man... which Hasbro totally could have done, but thankfully didn't. Their theme so far seems to be "flying superhero = flying alt-mode" Quote:
Originally Posted by Jarodimus Pfft. You probably think Spider-Man and Arcee are different molds, too. | LOL! At least the Spidey and Movie Arcee molds have some basic engineering similarities. That's it though. Quote:
Originally Posted by Bass X0 I was thinking Overhaul actually. | Haha! Yeah, I guess that's an obvious one right there. I mean, Overhaul was already inspired by Wolverine, so going back the other way is kind of a no-brainer.

Optimus Sledge:
Everyone knows that Torch and Iron Man are the same mold. Same as with Classics Starscream and Jetfire. I mean, they're both jets, they MUST be the same mold. Right? Cesium Salami:
I'm gonna pick him up for sure. I wish Hasbro went with his chest transformation for some of the movie voyagers like Ratchet and Ironhide. We can only hope TF:ROTF will bring better versions of these characters.
I also hope this Wolvering is repainted in anything other than this color scheme, but I will still be buying this version too.
1987olds442:
I really like this mold. We need more Trophy truck Transformers Quote:

I could care less about most of the Marvel Crossovers, since they're mostly Marvel Heores and a Villian (the only evil dude is Venom right now) shoehorned into "transforming mech suits" that really don't make sense at all (Why does the Human torch even need a transforming jet suit?). I am getting Wolvy for kitbash fodder, though, 'cause he's gonna be the base figure of my next custom TF project: Mudflap Cheebs: Quote:

Wolverine looks pretty awesome...
vehicle mode is an offroad rally truck.
Robot mode: decent articulations...
The gadget : spring loaded claws are good although they are too short.
just want to throw in couple of pics... Cataclizm1:
Just opened mine. He's pretty rad. Make sure to flip out his heels (That aren't mentioned in the directions) or he can't stand at all. His transformation is pretty fun and unique. Just wish he had better looking claws instead of the molded together ones.

Lance Halberd:
When I first saw the pics I had a feeling Wolverine was going to be a great toy, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find out he's much more fun than I had anticipated. I love the way his front tires slide both in and up to get them out of the way, and my only small complaint is that his right upper arm is loose and won't stay compacted into the shoulder.

Chaos Muffin:
Hows the claw gimmick? dose it seem like it would be simple to swap another set of claws on him? Or cut down vertically to seperate the blades already on him?
Maybe warm them up a bit, and use a razor to slice them apart. Then boil them while having something prying them open a bit

Maybe warm them up a bit, and use a razor to slice them apart. Then boil them while having something prying them open a bit | I think it'd be easier to separate and whittle down what he has, than trying to get a new set in there. Then again, it all depends on one's skill level.
Shin Densetsu:
He has thigh twists?! HOLY SHIT THAT IS AWESOME! I love that kind of articulation! Makes dynamic poses so much easier to pull off. Still wondering if this would look better as a repaint(because Hasbro loves to repaint every mold at least once). We could get a more realistic truck with his current X-Force costume colors, and then there is the brown costume which ruled. The tiger stripe one on this mold looks too bright for me. I intend to pick this up but waiting it out to see if a repaint makes an appearance might be best for now.
G1Wheeljack:
picked this guy up a few days ago and I love him! Great articulation, fun transformation and good quality. I can see with a new head & paint scheme this being another character entierley, and not a crossover transformer.

I am getting this today to kitbash to another Autobot, not sure who yet but somedoby in this thread did mention Trailbreaker. I think it is an awesome idea.
MegaMoonMan:
This guy is probably the best "crossover" TF figure I've seen - except for maybe Darth Vader/Death Star.
He beats out many mainline TFs in design and articulation.
The only flaw I see on him is that his arms won't lay flat against his sides - his elbows have to be cocked out. Minor gripe.
Highly recommended.
