Possible Transformers Disney Label Donald Duck Pre-order donald
There has been a follow up on the rumored Transformers Disney Label Donald Duck which was posted earlier on the boards.

A clearer image shows the robot mode features on Donald as well as his alternate mode, the always familiar Volkswagen Beetle.

There has been no official confirmation on the release yet.

Samus_Ng:
A pre-order on the new Disney Label figure has been sighted in Hong Kong. It appears to transform into a Yellow Beetle. Due for release in August for around $30
EvaUnit13:
Nice, too bad it'll probably be way too small to justify the price
Jarodimus:
This seems to confirm it's real. Yay!

August seems really soon, though.
S250:
hah! it's real
megatronkicksas:
*facepalm* not another one
G1Wheeljack:
I was hoping DD would be Megatron

Pete? I guess I can see that, but at least make Donald Starscream then.

For all his faults, Donald is a good guy. Making him into a Decepticon really wouldn't make sense.
Solrac333:
An then Pluto turns into a cassette!
caitlindevi:
So then...whats the ravage next to that image?

Are these things even supposed to make sense?
Paxtin:
Oh you have got to be kidding me...

I actually feel a bit dubious about this, since it looks like he turns into a VW beetle, and as most of us know, VW has stated that they don't want their cars being turned into transformers anymore.

Then again, this is just a sketch. Maybe the final will be more like Classic BB's alt-mode.

VW distanced themselves from TFs on the basis that they didn't want to be associated with a 'violent' toyline, and prefer franchises like Herbie - given that Disney now own the rights to Herbie (and associated merchandise), they've used some influence with VW to help Takara get clearance for this?
Protoman:
Oh F............... interesting how the Volks in considered since well........

You know, that's a good point.

Loopholes ftw!

If that's the case, then I hope Herbie becomes a Transformer someday that will intentionally look similar to Bumblebee.
samtastic:
There's no other word to describe this than PUREAWESOMENESS!

And that looks like pretty complex and cool transformation to boot! Peg Leg Pete will be Megatron - you heard it here first.

ah that helps me answer a questioni have had since i saw Bumblebee in TF1 , i was so pissed at first he wasn't a VW bug, and this max explain at least part why they did not go that way
Mechafire:
Now THAT'S epic.
Fairlady_Z:
Take my favorite BB alt mode and combine it with my favorite Disney character = sold!

I wonder if Don Rosa's gonna pick up one. Might have to email him about it once we get pics of the actual produced toy.

But for the record Donald drives a 1934 Belchfire Runabout, a completely fictional car.
MetroBoy:
Um.....does this signal a thawing on the part of VW? Does this mean I can finally have a frigging Masterpiece Bumblebee?! I'll buy one of each of these goofy looking Disney crossovers if it means that I can gets me a little yellow Bug outa the deal.

please, just stop

I think there's a very good possibility of this. Don't forget that in ROTF Sideways turns into an Audi ( who are owned by VW ) so if they were still 100% sticking to their "no association with violent franchises" policy then they're hardly likely to have let one of their subsidiary companies cars be used for a bad guy that will presumably cause his fair share of destruction.

Having a conscience about their origins under the Nazi regime is in many ways commendable but in the current economic climate VW would be unwise to ignore such opportunities to bring in some extra profit.
RageTreb:
If the Star Wars crossovers are any indication (Donald was Darth Maul, Goofy was Darth Vader, and Pete was Boba Fett), Goofy could very well be Megatron. Though Pete, who's the stand-by villain for the primary cast, is big and burly, so a tank form would definitely fit him if they did indeed decide to make a Megatron figure (as I doubt they'd make a gun form).

Oh wait... what if they made Goofy into Starscream? DX
IronicHide:
Shitting hell yes.

Though, surely, if Donald were to be a seeker he should be Thunderquacker?

No?

Really. No, I'm serious about this.
RageTreb:
Chip and Dale can be Sideswipe and Sunstreaker!
IronicHide:
High-fives @ RageTreb.

That is inspired leadership.
Rodimus Mike:
This is so mine. Can't wait,Donald is my fave Disney character.
j.a.f.o.:
I haven't read/seen any of the reviews on Mickey Mouse, however, I'm under the impression that it sucks. If so, can we assume the same for this one?
Stickshift:
Glad you like the photo,

Sorry it wasn't any clearer. I was using an iPhone so it was never going to be great, but the original was already blurry.

The store offering the preorder is pretty sound so I am sure that this is legit. The owner wasn't there today, but I will go back tomorrow and see if I can find out where he got the image and info from.

Other than that Hong Kong is empty on new Transformers (and everything else), was hoping to pick up some new movie figures, but it looks like they've been cleaned out.
mikeyfuzz:
Donald Duck is my favorite Disney character, I must have this!!
Bgrngod:
Eh... I'd take that pre-order with a grain of salt. Putting the concept images up on a piece of paper and calling it a pre-order is kinda fishy.
frilly toothpick:
if they ever decide to bring them over to the states and sell then at the disney stores i might consider buying it.
GreenScream:
Pretty dope. But if I got this guy, I'd have to get the Mickey Convoy figure as well. And at the going rates, it makes it an easy pass.
Stickshift:
I've been pre-ordering from this guy for about 5 years. Never had a duff tip-off so far.

More news tomorrow.

The USB collection were also up on the pre-order board in concept form
B-Fox:
Donald's stats had better consist of nothing but 10+ or else it'll be an insult to the character.

You do not F*** with Donald Duck!

Now all we need is a Goofy or Uncle Scrooge, who could easily be a sort of Megatron homage. I mean, he's pretty cruel and merciless at times...
magmatron:
I need this!

Dont you mean infinite?
Optimus-wave:
ITS BUMBLE-DUCK! wow, i was hoping that a Goofy-Magnus would show up first, but i can deal with Bumble-Duck
dark69:
dame i was hoping Mini as arcee would be next
TCJJ:
Oh go to hell. Why isn't Donald Duck going to be Starscream or Megatron? What, are we getting Prime and Bumblebee, and they're leaving the Decepticons to rot? This line blows. And for anyone still unsure... That's not Pete. He has a TOTALLY different design. This is Obesity Duckbee. Or something like that.
Kupp:
So what would make a better custom using this as a base, Gizmo Duck or Darkwing Duck?

In all seriousness, I do want the Donald one, I always enjoyed him as a character.
SpinalCord:
This is love. PURE love. I must own this. Pluto next! But I'm still passing on Convoy.
Dran0n:
Cool.
waal74:
I just don't like disney transformers at all.
Santoanderson:
These Disney label toys should be 20-30 dollars, max. Now if they were larger and a little more elaborate, I'd bite, but for now, I can't imagine paying 60+ dollars for a low-end voyager.
mizuki088:
I think Disney do not like the military or the Guns/War ship idea.
It is better to stick with friendly cars.
Boulder:
If anyone is turning into Starscream, it should be LaunchPad McQuack. I would soooo buy that in an instant.

As far as VW not wanting to be associated with a violent toys (and I think Hasbro confirmed that rumor at one point during the Alternators production), the words "barn door" and "horses escaped" come to mind. I think history would have been happier if they had had the same policy on real violence. Oh well, better late than never I guess.
