So far the Y wing looks very disapointing. Which I'm sad because the Y-Wing from the original trilogy was a fav of mine.

I'm only going to get the Twilight one so I can kitbash it into a TARDIS crossover.

Not too familiar with the new Clone Wars show..does this Y-Wing appear in it? If not, this has got to be the shittiest Y-Wing ever

EXACTLY what I was thinking, must be a new take on the Y-wing. A bad one.

Okay. Not only is the Anakin bot mode just plain bad, but what the hell does he actually turn into?! I do not recall any ship looking like THAT and also named "The Twilight" in the newer three movies.

And that Y-Wing is terrible, too. For those who like it, go ahead and take your fill, but that's a crappy Y-wing in my opinion. Now, if they had figured out a way to make one from the original Y-wing design, THEN I might consider it for that reason alone, but as it is, I have yet to buy a single SWTF figure, since they all suck for the most part.

Clone Wars is awesome, but I really don't like the look of either of those robot modes, and teh Twighlight looks all wrong.

But having R2 be the engine was clever.

Lol! I keep buying some of them. Though the one that really disappoints me is the General Rex AT-TE one. That one feels like super cheap plastic when compared to vehicles of his wave like the V-19 fighter and the V-Wing. Returned that piece of garbage....

I like the Y-Wing, though I think his shoulders are too broad and arms might be mistransformed since it looks like his shoulders are on a swivel ball joint and that the shoulder guards are flipped forward.

The latest one I bought was the Tie-Bomber, which is a decent figure. However mine has two left hands.... Got the last one on sale for $10 though so I can't complain too much....

I only made it through one ep of Clone Wars, so that would explain why I've not heard of this thing.

I'm still kinda upset that the Y-Wing isn't an original trilogy Y-Wing. Oh well.. what do you expect from a universe that has basically abandoned it's roots?

Aren't the promotional images supposed to make me WANT the figure? That they're photoshopped to hell just to make it look a whole lot better than the figure?

Because these failed big time. Someone's buying these Crossover toys, but they're not the greatest looking figures in the world.

Do you have any idea of how dumb it makes you look when your products are mis-transformed, incorrectly posed or just plain wrong ON YOUR OWN OFFICIAL SHOTS AND PACKAGING.
Don't you have an apporvals procedure for photography?
If you do you need to either give the person who does it a swift kick up the arse, send them to the opticians or send them to the dole office p-45 in hand because either they're not capable of doing the job (or not given enought time to do it properly) or they're slacking off.
Come on hasbro, you're better than this. Now pull your socks up, get your act together and get back in there and do the job right.

How does it get past the R/D stage...hm lets see.
They take any old bot shape that looks vaguley humanoid and can turn into a starwars spaceship/vehicle shape.
Give it a quickly knocked together head.
Stick a lightsabre shaped stick in its hand
Slap a Transformers and, more importantly, a STAR WARS logo on the packaging and it'll sell (if they don't over produce it)
THe Star wars licence for products will almost always produce an item that sells, there are enough people out there that will collect anything and everything starwars and/or transformers to justify making it.
Theres also two other facts you need to remember-
1 - theres enough people out there who think if you buy something star wars and stick it away for 20 years in mint condition it'll be worth money.
2 - once hasbro has sold stock onto a store they've doubled thier money already. so whether it sell, sits on a shelf or ends up in the bargin bin, hasbro are in quids in.
Bad starwars product rarley effects return custom for manufacturers (not including bad films)
Bad Transformers product,however, could effect other transformers sales.

Unfortunatly thats the power of Mega Brands like Starwars. George lucas could take a dump in a box, stick a star wars logo on it and call it 'Bantha Poodu' and someone would buy it

If you wanna do a crossover, then make some new molds for gobots and/or original TF characters who never got toys at all, like Arcee.

This line is just about throwing money away it seems, does anyone seriously buy these things?! My walmart is slam full of them, take the hint and cancel the line already.

The Y-wings from Clone Wars are supposed to be new off the line, still has the plastic on the seats fighter-bombers.

The Y-wings from the original trilogy are supposed to be highly modified, hot-rodded, rugged, used, stolen and appropriated for the rebellion.

In other words, Y-wings are so badass they can STILL take on the Death Star even after they've been in service for 20 odd years.

I take it as a compliment.

It was in the Clone Wars TV series, and prominently featured in the theatrical movie.

Pass on both of these, Y-Wing looks better than the usual fair at least. I'm waiting on the Battle Droid repaint to hit pegs.

simultaneously the best and worst bot modes in the line. the Ywing has a lot of potential.

I guess this makes alot of sense..and kudos to them for connecting the old material with the new.

But I just don't like this version.

LOL, well I'll go ahead and say it. I like 'em both. That's right, you heard me, I like them both. I'm also not a fan of the Crossovers line with the exceptions of the Magnaguard fighter and Grevious starship; I've only bought a few figures and dislike most of 'em, but I like the looks of these two.

Yeah, Annakins head is pretty weak, but I don't really care to be honest. I'll either live with it or customize it. Also the gun isn't in there upsidedown, it's missing the top half. You can see the top half is the upper gun in the box art, so it's supposed to be both halves make the whole gun.

I suppose it helps that I do enjoy The Clone Wars cartoon.

They both look fairly good to me, minus Anakin's head. I've never liked the "mechanical replica of pilot's head" dealie with SWTFs, but it's not something I've hated soooo much I can't get over easily.

but i think the Y-Wing is actually pretty tasty, one of the better if not the Best SWTFs. (mind you, that's not saying much, but still...)
but the irony is that this Y-wing design is one of the most roots-oriented things in Clone Wars/modern SW: the bubble turret actually goes back to the original models for A New Hope, and the Alliance Y-wings were always described as being stripped-down versions of once-sleek Fighters ~ this is the non-stripped down version.

I guess I'll pass then.

That Clone Wars Y-Wing vehicle for the Clone Wars figure line kinda craps all over the original Y-Wing toy vehicle, though.

There not the same vehicles though. The Clone Wars Y-wing is a BTL-B. The OT version is the BTL-S3.
