New Images of Transformers Crossovers Thor

I noticed the pics from TM2 D-bot were news but that he forgot to show the pics that ken has of THOR so here you are!

That is incredible engineering!! Will buy on site! Not crazy about the colors, but they are very "Thor-ish" indeed. I just don't know who to paint him as yet, his 'bot mode doesn't say Powerglide to me.

Bot mode is awsome! maybe a wash could help the alt mode a bit.

Colors work in 'bot mode, but not in 'alt mode.

Alpha Trion?

Hmmm. An earth mode Alpha Trion. Very good idea! I was thinking of grabbing two and making a better version of Superlink Superion Maximus, using them for Terradive and Sky Shadow! Maybe two Iron Man(Men?) for Wind Razor and Treadshot!

This is definately a bot-mode only toy, as those colors just don't do the vehicle mode any justice (one could say its villanous? oh I'm corny) Really love the details in the bot mode, and the "robofied" hammer is definately a nice touch.

I'm both impressed and frightened that what appears to be the most proportional, least kibbly A-10 Transformer toy in - like - EVER ends up being Thor.

I don't buy Crossovers hardly at all anymore, but I'll be getting this one.

I don't like the alt mode much, but the bot mode is really freaking awesome.

i like Thor both modes. Bots look great for me!

But see how the nose splits and becomes a part over his hips and the cockpit becomes his chest? He's just a remold of Ironman.

The GI JOE Fanboys are gonna be all over this figure, I can totally see a Supreme Cobra Commander figure being bashed out of this, with the Cobra Rattler as it's alt. mode.

Personally I think it would be alot cooler to do a Wild Weasel transformer out of this.

They are too different to share the same mold.

Seems to me that only the inside of the wings need to be red, as that's all you see of his cape in 'bot mode. It would be quite easy to paint over all of the red in jet mode and make it a uniform blue without hurting the red in 'bot mode.

This toy = instant buy.

Nah man. Look at how the feet pull into the jet engines. He's definitely a slight remold of Cybertron Wing Saber.

I've really been looking forward to this figure... it looks SWEEEET.

I found it really weird to hear all these complaints about the ugly colours and stuff, until I realized that not everyone is planning to use this figure as kitbash fodder. I forgot that some folks might just want a Thor-bot!

Like most of the Marvel TFs so far, this looks really nice... but I'm actually a little disappointed to see the runic detailing on the cape and stuff (as I was to see the scale-mail texture on Captain America). It's a contradiction... it's a brilliant, extremely appropriate design touch, and I applaud it. On the other hand, it does make it a little harder to kitbash into a new character! Damn Hasbro for being so clever!

I see potential here for a more size-appropriate Powerglide. His head is a little bit conical, so if it's replaced with a Powerglide stye head, there should be room for it to fit in the transformation. Also, the "cape" folds up, so there might be a better position for the wings. Too bad they didn't make it a BEARDED Thor. That would have made an Alpha Trion bash a no-brainer!

I was wondering if the "/s" was for sarcasm, but I wasn't totally sure. I knew someone was gonna jump on you for that. heh.

However it IS worth noting, even though they are NOT remolds, all 3 Marvel jets seem to share the same basic transformation scheme (as do Wolverine and Captain America). Not that I mind. I mean, if it's not broke, don't fix it. Each design has it's own unique touches that make them distinct and interesting.

Norse carvings on the cape and gauntlets = BRILLIANT!

Though SMOG is correct that it does prove a bit more limiting for kitbashers. Although it also open up some nice, previously-unconsidered creative impulses. Whoever mentioned an Earth-mode Alpha Trion, that's a great one. He would also work well as an upscaled take on the TFCC exclusive, Skyfall (since the carvings would give him a sense of being ancient, as the club combiners are suppsed to be).

Me, I'm not sure what to do with this guy yet. I'm definitely getting him, 'cause I collect A-10 molds and he is an A-10 mold. That's a no-brainer. I'll likely get two, one to keep in its original (albeit horribly-colored) state, and one to repaint into.... something. Hrm. Don't need a Powerglide, already got a couple of those.... don't need a Hothouse, with the Reprolabels set.... maybe Bad Boy? Or Tailwind? Jhiaxus or Straxus (hammer would kinda work in the latter case)? Made-up character? Reformatted Seeker? Cobra Rattler? Who knows!

He looks unbelievably abd in vehicle mode. I mean, the sculpting in both forms is ace, everything physical is good, but he looks like a cheap test-shot KO in vehicle mode. Deffinately needs to be repainted.

The detail is amazing. I love how the jet's tail fins becomes kneegards for his boots.

Amazing how they organize the colors so perfectly in vehicle mode, and then it mix them around into Thor just as nice in robot mode. Ace engineering but I'm gonna pass on this one.

My God. These are the worst colors/paint job I've seen in a very long time. I've seen better out of a kid's meal.

Dood if they were giving these out in Happy Meals they could paint em whatever color they wanted. Just look on the bright side, there is no energon blue to be seen.

He has a point though... it seems like the designers didn't really make much of an effort to make the decos work between the two modes. I don't care because I'll be repainting them into TFs anyway, but I can see why some people think it looks silly.

Some blue paint apps on the reverse side of Thor's cape for example, would have made it so the red only reveals itself when the wings transform. And Thor's boots aren't usually completely yellow... if they'd been molded in black with yellow highlights, that would have made the jet mode a little less day-glo.

Yeah, both Cap and Thor have garish colors in vehicle mode, but the engineering and bot modes work perfectly. I'm okay with sacrificing colors in one mode to get them right in the other, and besides, these are meant to be displayed in bot mode!

True... which is almost a shame, because for the most part, all the Marvel TFs have really great alt-modes (colours notwithstanding).
