New Image of Transformers Marvel Crossovers Race Car Spiderman

2005 boards member Tommybg2003 has posted an all new image of the Transformers Marvel Crossovers Spiderman figure. What makes this figure different from previous Spiderman figures in this line? This one turns into a race car.

There is also a repaint of this as the symbiote costume, to be released at a later date. Click on the thumbnail to the left to take a closer look.

Now updated with vehicle mode!

Absolute truth.

Out of all the Crossovers, the Spidey-vehicles are cursed with the most fail, simply due to the fact that the garish Spidey motif looks ass on just about anything. Even the A-10 Thor-hog had more potential to be saved with a simple repaint.

To be honest guys, I'm surprised we haven't seen some villains, like Crimson Dynamo as a MIG-29/53 Fulcrum or SU-30MKI Flanker, or MIG-31 Foxhound, as well as Magneto and Dr. Doom yet. Those guys lend themselves to having robotic suits/mecha well. Iron Man needs someone to fight. Crimson Dynamo could have bigger armor for himself that functions as a variable mecha. Dr. Doom could have a transforming mecha and that wouldn't surprise anyone. Now if he could take on a Fantastic 4 set of mecha that turned into a gestalt, that would make more sense than Chewie and Han turning into the Millenium Falcon.

Magneto could be a plane or something that flies, makes more sense than a bulldozer or tricycle, or something. I hope we see more NEW villains as NEW molds soon.

I agree on that. I never read any Marvel/DC Comics when I was young (sad childhood..), so I don't know how big these villains were. But true, more villains would be cool. Venom was a total failure to me. If Hasbro had at least improved the leg designs and not made it look so chunky, I could've bought him..

As for villains, judging from the Marvel movies I've watched so far, I would love to see Magneto and Dr Doom transformers. Hopefully this will turn out well..

I totally agree. But so far I think Spider-Man's mold is one the best, including Hulk's. Perhaps the reason why many hate Spidey's bike mode is because he is Spider-Man and should be something cooler like a Spider-Man. But I like the motorcycle design. No, I'm talking about BLACK Spider-Man (Image below.), not the blue-red version. That's a loser. Anyhow, his robot mode is still acceptable to me..

Thus far, Iron Man's alt mode was okay in my opinion, but his robot mode had problems, especially with the legs. And I would greatly prefer his movie version instead of his classic cartoon look. (But yeah, I never read the comics the movie has more impact on me.)

As for Captain America, the colour scheme is pretty plain. Didn't like it at all

And the Iron-Man and Spidey combo pack? NO way.. :S

In fact, I'm looking more forward to seeing a Ghost Rider TF. I just hope it'll turn out well..
Dinobot Snarl:
Dr Doom would Be AWESOME
trebleshot:
Since I went ahead and got the regular bike version, I might get the black Spidey car to balance it out. Of course, that's assuming it is a redeco of the red & blue one and not a new mold.
Blitz.:
Man they are Milking Spidy. Is Spiderman like the Vader of the Marvel world?
Ricktimus Prime:
That truck is beautifully badass. I'd hit it.
airfox:
Wow! X-Force Wolverine is bough on sight!

I think I'll do the same, but the opposite.

I got the black bike Spider-man, so I may get the red/blue Spider-car.

They've been milking Spider-man since the dawn of time (okay, the 1960s). And they is Hasbro, Toybiz and every other toy company that has had the Marvel license in the past.

So far we only have Venom and Carnage for the villains side in this line, and if you don't count repaints, it's really only ONE villain that Hasbro has put any effort into making.

Where's my Dr. Doom? Or Doc Ock? Or Magneto?

EDIT: Heck, why don't they just repaint Hulk into Red Hulk?

F-22Starscream:
How many Versions will the Spiderman Character get??

Itīs like the Vader thing with the Star Wars Crossovers.

And I absolutely support the Idea of a Fantastic Four Combiner
netkid:
We need the Fantasticar that splits apart and then transforms into the fantastic four.

Magneto should be a magnetic crane.

Dr. Octopus could be a hovercraft.

Dr. Doom could be a helicopter.

Green Goblin and Hob Goblin could both turn into each other's glider that each other could ride on. They could then combine into one giant Demo Goblin or one giant double glider.

Deadpool needs to be a ninja bike.

Taskmaster, Mystique, Morph, and Chameleon should be 10 changers.

Red Skull should be a WW2 tank.

Cyclops should be a space satellite telescope/laser.

Quicksilver could be a land speed/salt flat car.

Ghost Rider should be a motorcycle.
Tommybg2003:
heres robot mode of spidey

dark69:
wow i like that
Dran0n:
Meh...
Z.U.D.O.N:
I think this one's alright. Not fantastic, but not spoiled, so it passes

I already have a Black Motorbike Spidey, so I might get this one since I don't have the red-blue Spidey TF.
Silent_Magnus:
Reminds me of Mirage.
Takara_destron:
Cool, but pass.
SoundMaster:
Very nice. 80% sold.
Railguard:
Blah, pass. I liked Wolverine but I am not sold on this one.
Ultra Rodimus:
The robot mode looks decent. The head isn't fitting in, due to the shape.

Yet it could be exploitable... kitbashing into Mirage? Transtech Mirage or whatever people can think of that would fit in good.
Cinemastique:
I love how the Crossovers are jumped on 80-90% by kitbashers, more than people who actually WANT a car that turns into Spider-Man.

After a while, you'd think Hasbro would catch on, and just start releasing unpainted "Here, have a cool mold" toys.
tobuttica:
I think the Fantastic Four combiner idea is super badass! I haven't bought any of these yet, but I would buy that up super quick.

So true!

neospark1:
Looks like crap ... like almost all of the marvelformers. I was given Thor as a birthday present and the figure was a joke. Virtually 0 paint apps, horrible soft plastic, and the figure fell apart every time you tried to transform him.

Ick.
Ravenxl7:
Now that we've seen the bot-mode, and a better look at the alt-mode, there's really only one thing that comes to mind...

DAYTONUS KITBASH!!!

With a new head sculpt, some normal hands, a gun, and some paint, it'd be perfect. Though he'll be a bit big in alt-mode compared to the other bot's, like Universe Sunstreaker and Prowl for example. Oh well, it's not an every day sort of alt-mode, so it's ok. Oh, and here's a link to Daytonus for comparison: Daytonus - Transformers Robots In Disguise - Transformers Resources
Deadend:
Finally the spidey mobile makes an appearance! Well at least one of the many toy iterations ones. I woulda gotten extra giddy if it was the actual old school one in the comic.

I'm digging that iron jet still, and the X-force wolvie mock up is perfect. Otherwise I agree, we needs more iron blood running through this line.
Like Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Ultron, Yellowjacket/Antman, Jocasta, Ultron's second bride (always forget her name but love her design), and vault guardsmen(with super criminal transport alt mode).
Maybe even some I don't know, actual marvel vehicles for icons, like a fantasticar that breaks apart into the four seperate vehicles and then 4 seperate robots? With MU scale seats indirectly from Crossovers size for the fantasticar. >.> Forge and the blackbird, or Antman and the Quinjet, or MoonKnight and his moonplane. Punisher and his swat van as well. Hulk, IM, and Venom/Carnage made sense to a degree at least. Torch too indirectly since reed is playing with the tech. Hulk is like a hulkbuster stark tank, IM is well, it's stark, does it need a reason? The last two? Symbiotes + Cybertronians. Big Daddy's been venom infected. =D So those were all great choices to me for the early start. And I could even reason wolvie's paint apps, and the growing avenger members cause of stark and forge. But we need something that actually 'feels' like a transformers tech crossover into marvel instead of just treading water. Those molds can be written off as the first prototypes, and the spidey car is a nice sign of things to come, but better reassurances would be nice too lol.

A Nick Fury Shield Helicarrier even(easy to variant into all sorts of shield ones like dugan) would be nice. Sentinels would be neat too, or how about a black panther, that turns into a panther (next avengers nod even). Or some Ghost Rider 2099 action for his bike and bot mode(Junkions 2099 style! he needs to be able to ride his own mold). Heck if they really want to be teases they could do the fantastic 4 that combine together to form the top 4 part of four freedom's plaza(This is something Reed would probably do at some point). There's also always the Manga-Verse Iron Avengers/Gestalt Ironman.

But as slow tests go, so far at least we are getting some choices in color palette. I may actually buy wolverine's in these colors now.
digitalworld40:
man these would be so much better if they would put more effoert into the designs like the Classic/ Universe lines. But it's actually good that they don't because it saves me money.
Beastbot X:
Looks pretty good. Will get. Assuming ROTF doesn't continue to come out at such a ludicrous pace...
ease:
I'm really feelin' the Wolverine X force repaint, especially since i just read my first X FORCE comic(Angels & demons #1).This Iron man has got to have better legs than on the first one. Already the have Blue/red Spidy bike, but the new mold (bot) looks cool. I dont really mind Marvel crossovers,i have more fun with them than most of those Star Wars crossovers. Oh yeah...More villians please!

Really? I love my Thor-formers. I've used it as the base for 2 different kitbashes so far. Nothing falls off mine. I find the plastic to be really rugged and easy to work with, and the alt-mode is detailed and bang-on accurate to the A-10 design (for once).

Ezilla82:
Wow round 3 for Spidey this time he's a race car of sorts.. not bad I do like his motorcycle and helicopter modes, but thats cool with me. I might get him and the black version and also it does have potential for being a cool custom either fan made character or character from the TF universe so I'm looking forward to it. But still we need some villians to make this line interesting.
shumworld:
I might pick the Spidey-Mobile.
Zer0:
Do you think maybe we can make some kind of deal where we sacrifice this line to get more Animated toys?

I was really hoping for a supreme class Omega Supreme and would get two without hesitation... but I will never, in my entire life, buy anything from this line.

I feel ya on that one. I would have bought 4 if he was a supreme class(1 normal, 2 lugnut, 1 for omega sentinel). Why oh why did they waste that slot on that unneeded prime?

Yeah, the Marvel Crossover TF toyline isn't one of the better ones around, but I surely must admire the plastic quality. Perhaps the Thor neospark1 got was crappy, but my Black Spider-Man (bike) is reasonably solid. The feet are a little loose now because I've been playing with it for half a year, but the quality is there.

As for paint aps, Hasbro may have to look into that. Surely some of the figures lack decent paintjobs. But I surely say the Marvel TFs are way better so far compared to the Star Wars ones.

Well, I guess you won't have much trouble getting Spidey (car) since ROTF will be so popular, the kids might not even look at other toylines.
Mobb One:
Out of all possible Marvel TF figures, they should make a Galactus/Taa II figure the size of supreme Unicron. For those that don't know, Taa II is Galactus' "home world" and is the size of a solar system.
DarthP00P00:
Weh, how many spidermans are we gonna end up seeing? like frikin 46.
Alexander Quinn:
Ugh. This line started off so damned promising! What did they do; hand the job over to the design team that does the Star Wars Crossovers? Enough already! Get back on track!! Why the hell is Spider-Man a racecar now? The bot mode is okay, but the car itself is just pure concentrated WTF? grumble*grumble*
SMOG:
The car mode is not so bad... the main grievance is those web-patterns etched into it (though admittedly, that's a kitbasher's lament). Otherwise it's a decent "futuristic" racecar.

Of course, I'd much rather see a return to the focus on more directly real-world-inspired vehicles we saw in the first wave.

Are the SW Transformers that bad? I mean sure, they should have Transformed into TF characters, not big mechanized Lukes and Vaders, most of us agree on that, but the designs arent all bad, are they?

The only ones I have are the Falcon Combiner, and aside from having to deal with it being A ridiculous approximation of Han and Chewie, the toy design is brilliant.

I understand what you're saying about them, and I agree... that's pretty much how I feel about the Marvel Crossovers. Having a giant robot Spidey or Hulk is sort of stupid, but the designs themselves are pretty good.

However, for myself, I think the Star Wars Crossovers are mostly a failure. They are rather nice renditions of SW vechicels, but as robot designs, I find the aesthetics tend towards being very awkward. Common issues are excessive kibble, rotund distended bodies, and short, spindly legs. They don't really have a good robot aesthetic going on, and they feel sort of fragile in my hands.

For what it's worth, the Han & Chewie mold looks better than most of them. I'm also a fan of the Turbo Tank.

zac
Deadend:
Funny this spidey car gets so much flack. Out of all of them, it's the only one that has comic precedent. As in, it was ACTUALLY IN THE COMICS. Granted this rendition is one of the toybiz ones they did. It's still based on something that did show up in his comic book. So this one at least I'll give them props for. Cause the bikes made absolutely zero sense. At least Spidey did own a spider-mobile.

http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Spider-Mobile

This rendition though is based on what looks like to be the Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes one of the 90s, before his TAS or X-Men TAS. AFAIK, Mego is the only company to have ever released an accurate to scale with their line Spider-Mobile. But every few years, it gets a facelift by whatever toy company has the rights. Toybiz made 2-3 different ones, now Hasbro has made theirs, and also upped his arsenal with a chopper and bike, which is moderately new to spidey. AFAIK, the Spider-Mobile was the only vehicle he ever had, if albeit briefly.
