Taobao user kenzsq has posted an auction with new in hand images of the Transformers Crossovers Captain America. These images nicely show off the rich detail on Cap's upper torso to replicate the chainmail look of his human costumed counterpart. Check out all the images by clicking on the title of this article to read more, then discuss on our 2005 Boards!

this is cool, how ever i feel that if the doors/sides was all blue, and just the back/top were red. i just think it'd look better with more constancy.
Silent_Magnus
I'm getting a Sentinal Prime vibe from him.
Especially with that expression. Why is he so angry?
Dolza_Khyron
he's angry because before they took the photo, they showed him the toybiz transformer toy version
Matrix Soul
he angry because he dead

I'm wondering if that wouldn't make a good Trailbreaker custom just like Wolvie did... I like the Humvee alt mode alot.

The paint job looks scaly!
Shin Densetsu
Holy crap sculpted chain mail for the fucking win!

Probably to match the chain-mail look of Cap's uniform.

Yeah, I think that's actually molded detail!

Which makes him a little trickier to kitbash, or to recolour into another character...

that's actually pretty awesome. maybe if he had looked like this he wouldn't have gotten assassinated.

Not sure about Trailbreaker, but he would make for a pretty spot-on Ironfist or G2 Ironhide kitbash.

Or maybe Brawn or Outback.... just swap the shield for a big spare tire.

Anyhow, regarding this figure, I'm lukewarm on it. From that bot-mode photo it looks like it has somewhat limited shoulder articulation, and I don't like how bulky and simplistic the legs look (though I know that's sort of due to it being based on a comic character). Still might take a chance and pick it up, though. The only crossover I own currently is Wolverine, but I've actually found him surprisingly fun (if a bit cheap-feeling).
General Magnus
This might be the first Crossover I might buy.
Darkspeed
He just looks so... Under-detailed. Like there's suppsoed to be a hundred more paint apps on him, and then they just shruged and packaged him up. disapponting.
Autobot Burnout
Excelent, more kitbash fodder! I just wish there were shots of the peg system used to hold the shield on in both modes, as the kitbash project I have planned involves scratchbuilding weapons to fit into those holes. I also dislike the head, but I was going to have that outright replaced anyways.
ActionMasterZod
I think this figure would be awesome as a black re-paint with a new head.
Laser_Optimus
Nice. Definently going to pick this guy up.
brawl 56
lol
Cpt. America=

nice mold for repaints x3
DarkEyes
Yeah, pretty american...
Digilaut
Amazingly awesome figure..but the paintjob in alt mode looks kinda tacky. They could *at least* have gone for a better blue to red transition..I dunno, blue/red stripes until it goes into full red for the boots?

Still, do want this one. Won't sell it in my country, so I guess I have to import it
asphalt
I will ditch the shield and give him a new head but will own this fig. I hope thor is as cool.
dark69
he looks realy good....but i hate the last 2 i got from this line
Ktulu
The head almost drives me to a "wtf" but it's a pretty cool mold overall
asphalt
AS you may have noticed I have gotten into Joe customs lately. This is a Cobra Crossover waiting to happen he is Molded in the PYTON PATROL pattern.
Buzzer-Bot
Think I might start getting this...
Hound & Mirage
Ha! His robot mode looks like how they might draw a "transformer" in a Simpsons episode. Or maybe how Homer would look if he dreamed he was Optimus Prime.

Is his front end scaled or is it molded as diamond plate? Either way - looks nice.
MekaGojira3k
I'm pretty unimpressed by all of these, though I do applaud the texture on the vehicle to match Comic Book Cap.
Kaltorako
Can anybody say... "Swindle?"
Railguard
Well, maybe I can change the head or something....yah right who am I kidding?

Ouch! Harsh dude.
samtastic
Cheers if this is your thing.

Personally, I think it is ludicrous, tasteless, stupid, ugly and ridiculous.

But I do think see the appeal for bashing -- it would make a good trailbreaker.

I get the mickey mouse thing, because it's a cute "Mickey-fied" cartoony truck, and the robo-mickey actually would fit in a mickey cartoon -- if it was about a mech-robot.

But how does a transforming robot fit in to Marvel-verse? Seems nutty to me...

I did buy the Hulk one for my son, who loves the hulk - and I have to say the quality is great, even though I don't get it. So go bashers go!!

After seeing some of these newer Marvel Crossovers, I can't help but wonder if these molds are inextricably tied to a Marvel license or not (like the Star Wars ones would be, being SW vehicles and all). Some of these toys are begging for remold/repaint into TF characters, possibly for a Botcon or something.
Superquad7
Cool design. Horrible paint deco for flow of alt mode design? Fail.

Bashing possibilities? Yes!
Maximo Prime
SUPER bashing possibilities. he's the last one i need to begin that particular project. though i've noticed (well i haven't checked ALL around) but Venom's head needs to be simply popped off somehow - there's NO screws/pins on his head ANYwhere!
Zaraxion1021
Woohoo! I hope they create Hawkeye! I would ♥ to create an avengers Transformers team.

I really like most of this mold, but now that you mention it, I TOTALLY see Homer Simpson in that head sculpt! Weird!

Sadly, I believe they are inextricably tied to Marvel. That was one of the questions answered in the latest round of Hasbro Q&A's (though I can't remember specifically from which website that question came). If I remember correctly, Hasbro's response was "you will never see the Marvel molds used in other Transformers lines."

Which is a bummer, because I agree with you.... a lot of these would make fantastic Transformers if given new heads and paintjobs.

More work for the kitbashers, I guess.
LightningZERO
Cap looks a bit Skrully

Yeah, I remember that too...

Though it makes me wonder... these exact molds are precluded from making an appearance, but that wouldn't necessarily mean we won't see extremely similar molds that may have been derived from the more successful Marvel molds, right?

Orion_Prime48
he looks good but not good enough to suffice so much more for it than a regular TF deluxe

I can't imagine that would be a problem, if we're talking about essentially re-using a transformation scheme. If it's a direct re-use of an alt mode with a similar robot mode.... huh, I don't know. I don't know enough about trademark and/or patent issues to know. But even if they made a very similar figure, I'm sure there would be enough tweaks to differentiate it legally. I think the question would be more, would they WANT to? The design team seems to like to try new, innovative engineering, so I'm not sure how they'd feel about essentially re-creating a pre-existing figure.

Then again, Hasbro does like to re-use transformation schemes. Heck, the Captain America and Wolverine figures roughly transform like a Diaclone-style car-chest figure anyway.

I do hope the "wings unfolding into cape" part of this figure is re-used at some point. It's a neat element that I don't think we've seen much (if at all) before.

Remember Marvel Crossovers are substantially larger than Deluxes...closer to a Voyager in some cases, so I'd say they're worth the extra cost (particularly in the case of the jets, which are nicely scaled next to Deluxe Autobot cars...).

I know what you mean, but sometimes it feels like conspicuous attempts at "innovative" engineering can occasionally compromise a figure that would have been awesome with a more direct approach. I'd like to see some of these Marvel TF stylings reproduced where appropriate on some regular TFs.

Though one of the things I really like about these is the in-between scale... I doubt Hasbro is planning on adding a new price-point to their line-up...

Agreed. That's a really neat trick.

Best example of this: the Classics Minicons.

"Look! Look at my wacky transformation! I'm so innovative I can't even stand up!"

Anyhow, good point about the "in-between" size class. I think that's one reason that Wolverine is such a perfect Trailbreaker base, for me... he's bigger than a deluxe, but smaller than a Voyager, great for those few "larger car" G1 guys. This would also be the perfect scale, in my opinion, for characters like Springer, Roadbuster or the Headmasters.

The Classics Minicons felt like some kind of class project to me, as in "Design a TF toy, but it has to do something in the transformation never seen before."

Heh, I look at Cap and see an articulated version of the European TF Ironfist. I'm really thinkin' "non-huge, un-sucktastic Powerglide" when I look at Thor, too. Guess I need to start building on my meager kitbash skills.

Where is the paint, this is terrible. It's like publishing a book with the last chapter missing. A decent paint job/color scheme on this thing would probably make it really awesome. It's now a good toy for a 7 year old. I think Hasbro should start including paints, a brush, and a manual with their figures to finish the job.
