Transformers Go Toy Decos Revealed in Japanese Hobby Magazine Scans

By way of a Japanese image board we have a look at the Transformers-related pages of one of the new Japanese hobby magazines. These scans give us our first look at some of the upcoming April release Transformers including our first-ever look at Takara-Tomy's Beast Hunters, Transformers Go! The decos on Takara-Tomy's toys are a departure from the US ones - from these scans we can see that:

Optimus Prime sports blue chest windows and a blue-bladed Star Saber, rather than the green on the US version.
Wheeljack, Starscream and Bulkhead, while keeping their armored looks and new accessories, feature more show-accurate paint jobs.
Soundwave looks very purple / royal blue, much darker than his usual coloration.
Shockwave sports black snap-on armor, rather than red
Predaking and Bumblebee seem largely unaltered from their US releases.
These toys do not come with Arms Microns and seem to be largely pure redecos of their US releases.

The Transformers Go! EZ Collection is also showcased. In addition to Smokescreen and Airachnid from the Beast Hunters Cyberverse the Reveal the Shield / Universe Legends Prowl, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee, Hound and Megatron toys are being given a fresh release, some with more tweaks to their paint decos than others. Megatron is the stand out - he features a deco inspired by the unreleased Combat Hero Megatron redeco from Generation 2.

There is also some showcasing of the Generations Data Disks along with Masterpiece Prowl and Streak, but nothing that has not been seen previously.

Looks pretty good and hopefully will stop all that whining about the green, not sure if I'll get this or the Hasbro version though.

The Japanese Versions of Optimus Prime , Starscream , Bulkhead , and Soundwave look more show accurate. Think I will be collecting the Takara line rather then the Hasbro one.

This is probably the first time that a Takara release has left me disappointed in the Hasbro releases.
Soundwave and Starscream look so much better with unified colors.
I'm just happy Shockwave looks exactly the same, except for the beast armor.

Pretty much. They don't look so much shinier as they look...well, dull, really. Not at all working for me.

Oh wow, some very different paintjobs..in my opinion for the better. Prime looks way cooler, and so does Soundwave. Hope they will release an accurately colored Smokescreen as well!

Agreed. Keen to see what they do with Smokescreen next month.

They still just look boring to me. Certainly not enough to warrant importing. But, then again, colour differences alone never are for me.

Optimus looks a lot better with the blue windows too, and I actually liked the green on the Hasbro version.

what is the difference in predaking and optimus?

the only thing I can see is that optimus has clear blue chest windows and the sword is blue and thats it

Shockwave looks exactly the same except his beast armor which no one uses anyways

I'm willing to concede Optimus, but at this point there is no (and might never be) "show accurate" on those particular character designs.

Preordered the beast hunter bulkhead. I really like that mold, but I can't stand the crayola orange with brown poop stains it has. The Japanese version looks ten times better.

Actually, I saw it on my iphone as well (that's what retina display and pinch/zoom is for

Wow from no paint and stickers back to the superior Takara paint apps.

Very nice but I am barely in to this line so domestic it is.....unless we get more Takara exclusive figures like in Prime.

Starscream isn't mocha brown. The colour choices are better and take a closer look the paint is no where near the same. Look at lil Ravage...he actually has paint apps on him.

Back to the phrase: "Everything's better in Japan". The unified and show colors look great on these figures. Hasbro really dropped the ball with the wierd colors on the BH figures.

I may go after that Prime.

While I do like the original color schemes for the characters on these molds I still really have no interest in getting them. This also unfortunately confirms no more microns. Wonder if they'll still do single releases since we still haven't gotten singles of a few of the later microns.

Okay maybe thinking about getting soundwave depending on how he's actually colored. Can't make out jack other then he's dark colored.

Man, the Japanese BH figures look a lot better.

If that Soundwave were on shelves, I might get it.

... I probably wouldn't, but I'd at least consider it, unlike the one we got.

Wow, these guys look a lot better than the Hasbro releases. Might end up getting these versions instead.

Starscream, Shockwave, and Soundwave all using muted tones of blue and grey reminds me of the Beast Wars 2nd Cyborg Beasts.

It's a shame the Missiles on the Tomy Optimus are not clear Blue as the missiles not being clear is one of the things I like least about the Hasbro Optimus.

Hopefully they will find a spot to slot in some Microns in gift sets at some point. Even if they no longer include them with the toys themselves or perhaps they can make more Capsule figures or in individual small boxes or as single kits to sell in supermarkets.

The Sword and shield type ones are really good and more like those would be great.

Not a huge fan of the molds, but Soundwave and Starscream look interesting. At $30 each I may pick up one or two of these. Grant it we have a sale at Target right now, but at retail prices, we are getting close to only a $10 difference between retail and import figures. Makes it a lot easier to cherrypick some of these.

I do like the blue windows on Optimus, but I confess the green on my US release has grown on me.
The green plastic on the Star Saber really pops under overhead light.

However, the Takara Bulkhead and Starscream really look great in those colors.

Everyone else, not so much. Dunno if I'll actually spring for Optimus, since it's only the painjob that's been changed, and I can paint the windows and stuff myself. I also kind of like the green star saber better? Mostly because I hate Prime's star saber, so the innaccurate deco helps make it more a generic sword. Starscream and Soundwave looks pretty boring, Bulkhead looks REALLY boring, and nobody else is even worth mentioning.
