Here's a quick follow on from the news earlier about the terms for the Transformers Collector's Club Subscription Service - it's live!

Head on over to the Transformers Collector's Club Homepage to read the terms and get in on the ground floor of the subscription service. Remember to read the terms - you need to be a member, and you can either pay by installments or pay the whole thing in one lump sum.

An update from earlier is that the figures will not ship in pairs - that's an artifact left over from the similarly-worded GI Joe terms and conditions - these will ship individually, so you get six toys at various points through the year (seven if you want to count Depth Charge, the membership freebie)

Remember, there is no need to rush to get your order in as these are made to order. If you get your order in by the cut-off date, midnight on 10 September 2012, you will receive the set of six toys.

Lastly the slides from Botcon showing off the six toys have been posted on Facebook, if you want a clear look at what you are getting with the subscription. Check out the six - Prime Slipstream, Classics Circuit, Beast Wars Ultra Mammoth, Animated Jackpot, Universe Classics Breakdown and Generations Robots in Disguise Scourge. Remember if you only want one of these six figures, singles may be available through the Transformers Collectors Club, but at a higher price than they work out at through the subscription.

With the Joe subscription, it was the "cost" plus the shipping and a $3 processing fee. I can't remember how much the shipping was though.

The Official Transformers Collectors' Club

all details are there; $282, plus shipping if paid in full. deadline is 9/10 unfortunately
StayingInTheBox
Beautiful. I am praying, PRAYING this is a success for the club.

2. There is NO reason to rush the site or be in a hurry as this is a build to order system. We will build as many as you order, so we cannot run out. YOU CAN ORDER AS MANY AS YOU WANT, there is no limit.
Kaijumaster
Wait, so is it open?
Edit: oh, imminent! Sweet $120 less than budgeted, so im only gonna order 1 extra off bbts.

TFPrime
so, if we pay the 282$ plus 3$ per figure so that's another 18$ so even 300$? And then you get all 6..nothing more to pay from there? What if you only want one figure? Does it have to be an all or nothing deal with them?
barrelks
I'll bite. Just gonna do installments and use prepaid cards.
ahro23
This might be a silly question but is the $282 an annual fee to be part of that or does it apply as long as you're a TFCC member?

The $3 is a transaction fee, you don't have to pay it per figure, but the only option they're giving right now is to order all 6. so $285 before shipping.

Not quite sure where the $3 per figure is coming from. There is a $3 charge per processing time if you go with installments. So the total (prior to shipping) would be $285 ($282 +$3). If you go with installments, you'd have to pay an extra $6 ($3 for each of the 2 other payment processes).
MechaV
282? That's a lot better than a I thought it would be. I'm on board.
Bountyan
Pass. Too many cruddy redecos I don't care about to justify the price.
Scaleface
As I only want one or two of these figures I think I'll pass and wait to pick them up on ebay. I'm sure there will be pleanty of people buying a full set but not wanting a Circuit for me to pick it up!
igniz1984
Interested in only half the figs, I may just get them on the after market. BBTS will probably end up ordering a few subscriptions so that's another route.

$282 PLUS SHIPPING, and that's shipping each unit, and have you seen what the club charges for shipping one Deluxe?
Thundershot
Yes!

Yes!

Can't wait!

So they're coming in pairs then? They don't say how often they'll ship.. Two every other month? Too bad we won't have a bonus figure...

WHy would they advertize a $3 service fee when NO ONE charges service fees for onlien purchases. I guess TFCC cares not about their image as cash grabbers.

This is what I want to see before I order, shipping to the UK is crazy as it is.
bmking16
$282 for 6 figures is $47 a figure. Isn't that a little steep?
Roufuss
@ this:

"Don't go online and tell people what figures you got when they ship so it's a surprise to everyone!"

Like that'll happen.

Pay in full now and they don't start shipping until January? Yea, that kind of sucks. That's a long time to just hold the money like that; they should just bill you each time they ship a figure like MattyCollector does imo.

I'm pretty sure that would just be shipping for each shipment. So there would be 3 shipments, not 6 since they are coming in pairs.

Yeah.....personally, its not a big deal....but you know people are going to whine about the shipping charges, which I am guessing will be about $8-$12 per figure/shipment.

On a positive note, this is great news and I think the price ($285 including fee) is justifiable. It's basically a Botcon "boxset" price
Steroid Prime
So how many figures total do you get for close to $300?

6 figures.
StayingInTheBox
$282 for 6 figures plus some fees and shipping.

IMO, this is worth it to me and I'll be purchasing.

6 figures = $282
$12 shipping x3 = $36
$3 processing fee x3 (possibly) = $9

Total = $327 for US resident.

Worth it for me personally. I'm not CERTAIN about these number assumptions, but it's my guess.

Something to consider, one of them is a voyager sized figure which are usually about twice the size of a deluxe. And this voyager is the BW2 Woolly Mammoth mold which is a pretty good sized voyager compared to the recent Prime stuff. So considering that, it puts the deluxes around $40 each and Ultra Mammoth around $80.

I guess he's actually an Ultra class, but those aren't made anymore.
Tranzilla
So we're looking at:

Subscription: $282
Per swipe charge: $3 ($9 for 3 installments)
Shipping: depends on shipping location

It actually costs close to a convention boxed set, so not too bad.

Why they still don't allow the use of PayPal is beyond me. Basically the $3 charge is per transaction or "swipe" of the credit card used.
And those that don't like the per transaction charge? Get used to it. Many retailers are going to be going the same way because it actually costs a small percentage of each transaction or a small fee for the use of a credit card vs cash. Some retailer's (Wal-Mart, etc) don't charge it because they fear it will deter sales and folks tend to spend more if they use credit over cash. Small businesses simply don't do the volume required to allow them to "eat" the cost. Sucks, but that's the way it is.
TFPrime
well, again, 282$ plus need to pay the what--45$ to make sure you're a member there as well. I kinda want in..but again, i only want a Scourge, so, I might just wait for ebay.
tabtiurf
There's gonna be sooooo many Circuits on ebay...
icefox
It would have been nice if they had confirmed what you would be getting for your $300+. Do we know for sure it will be 6 and what they will be?
Bendimus Prime
Hey Pete, if we pay the $94 + $3 + Shipping before September 10th are we guaranteed to get all the figures (and of course pay the remaining when the bills come due)?

Plus, will there be a set bill time, or is it a "just make sure it's all paid up before the next subscription year?" kind of thing.

LOL, yes! It was confirmed months ago at Botcon. Not sure where the thread is (try searching), but there are mock ups of all 6 figures somewhere on this site.

This. Even if three of the figures are worthwhile, it's like paying $100/figure and getting three dust collectors thrown in...this is major fail at this price. As it is, I only want one of the figures...oh well, no Scourge for me...
anubis20
How many figures are there? 12? Also it says you gotta be a member, im already a member but are they still doing the free figure for next year?
reflector7
$285 for six deluxe figures......people that is 47.50 each

My mind cannot comprehend the silliness of one giving these crooks that much money for these ridicious repaints. They should be ashamed of themselves for .30 worth of plastic

Think about it people
Oracle_Aesir
...yeah I'm not going to have the money for this within less than a month...guess I'll be saving myself 300 or so this year! More money for comics and nice, reasonably priced toys

I'll still renew my membership for Depth Charge and 2013's comics though
LCDR Blindside
It is really impressive that your first post got you a news credit.

Thought about it and I am still all in on these. I would rather pay $47.50 for figures that I actually want than pay $15 for figures I don't care about.
MegaHavok
less then 30 days notice for a $300 purchase ???

Agent-GHQ
Wtf it doesn't even tell you what characters you are getting or whether it classic of G1 or th latter crap!!?

this.
i really can't believe that the club thinks it's kosher, in 2012, to subsidize their retail fixeswith a service fee that no other online retailers charge. it's like it's 1995 and i want to pay my heat bill via the power company's crappy website. these days they charge you extra if you don't pay via the web. i think the club might be run by non-geniuses.
power3921
All I really want is Slipstream, although Scourge and Jackpot look nice too, but having no interest in the other three makes it crazy for me to do the subscriptions. I'll just hope its not too hard to get individuals.
anubis20
Im selling the extras at cost i only want breakdown and scourge...

Clearly you've been in a cave when they gave hours or even minutes notice when the annual exclusives would go up for sale. 30 days notice is more than fair.

This is it. TFCC got it right. No rush to order on day 1, since you have plenty of time to order. Anyone who complains later about paying higher prices on eBay or not "having enough time" can go cry to their mommas. This is exactly what we wanted. A fair shot for everyone, so people can buy as many as they like.

Keep what you want, sell the rest.
