eBay seller lena81822 has put up an auction for a loose Lio Convoy figure, our first look at the Transformers Collector’s Club free membership figure of 2015. Although this figure is not officially released yet to the masses and changes to the figure could occur, it’s worth pointing out that this is also our first look at a modified head sculpt, which is different from the promotional images we first saw back in July 2014.
How close to a final figure do you believe this is? How about that head sculpt? Sound off with the discussion link below!

Well, looks like I won't be joining now.
No more job, and I've been denied unemployment.

It looks better than I thought it would. I can't wait for Nova Prime to come out

He looks pretty good for the most part.

Found some additional pics from an online auction site.

I am sad if Lio wont have those ears, what is left just kind of makes it appear to be lumpy. Hopefully it all comes out in the wash.

Orion Pax is a small figure with a tiny head…so I can see how they had to reduce their original idea. Not saying that is the reason, but it is a tiny head. There are clearance issues that may not be obvious from just looking at it.

Thanks, it's a custom I made a while back, full pictorial in the Radicons section, or click the link to my FB page on my sig.

Really? I'm the one you're going to go after, on this site, about being neurotic?
I made my case. A white Prime without Nova's distinctive features really does run the danger of looking like Ultra Magnus, and the mold choice already–completely understandably!–constrains these features. And it's a $60 toy of a mold I already have, so I'll be as picky as I please.
SpinalCord
That's really nerotic. Should just be thankful we're getting figures of these guys instead of being so nitpicky… I mean it's 2 tiny peices of plastic, not jacked up colors or a nonsensical mold (although some may disagree on the latter)
BWfan86
The head looks off IMO compared to the original pic they showed…
Monari
It's less the ears that i'm concerned with and more that the faceplate looks off to me.

Someday they might realize the amount of space they have to work with on the figure before designing a head that doesn't work. Well, they probably won't because you buy it anyway – it doesn't matter. I wonder what does matter? Why even give figures a head?
Buy the Lio Convoy coming from Perfect Effect. Much, much more worth your money. This is a throwaway figure.
CrockAlley
Reminds me a bit of Sentinel Maximus, whose ear horns were trimmed for space. Head looks okay, but it's missing one of the important elements of the Optimus-type head.
Also, I never understood this mold choice for Lio Convoy anyway. Aside from the color, I don't see anything "Lio Convoy" about it.
Anguirus
I don't care about it for Lio, I care about it for Nova because that detail will mean a lot in making the figure feel like Nova Prime, rather than another take on Naked Ultra Magnus.
There's already some serious unofficial competition, with more on the way, on the "definitive Nova Prime figure" front. I strongly favor official figures for my collection, but the resemblance has to be solid, or else there's no point in paying the premium for existing Deluxe molds.
I will say that paint apps could make a big difference here. Nova's horns are distinctly not the same color as the rest of his head.
But I'm going to hesitate before putting down money for Nova Prime if I haven't seen in-hand pics. That's my feedback right now.

While the ears don't bother me and I think it looks very nice, I've got to disagree with your assessment. If the figure didn't mean much to someone, the "ears" wouldn't make much of a difference. While I don't agree with the level of disappointment, people who are choosing to pass because of the inaccuracy do show a level of passion and investment in the figure and character that belies it not meaning much to them.
SpinalCord
We’re also talking about little tiny ears here… it hardly ruins the figure. If you’re going to pass on it now because of the ears, then the figure never really meant much to you in the first place.
I think it looks great… that vehical mode is perfect. I cannot wait to get a new version of a Beast Wars character

I was just going to bring up last years Transmutate-fan-apocalypse. Last year the early release/leaked version of Transmutate was using the Prime: RID Arcee mold and everybody was up in arms about why it was not the promised First Edition version that Fun Pub advertised. I mean people were calling out FP saying they lied, that they do this crap on purpose… etc.
And it all turned out to be the factory did a practice run or something, I do not think we really know what happened. But the end product that we were sent was in fact what was advertised. So, before we start calling for FPs head once again we should just wait and see what we actually get. These early leaked samples might just be mistakes or something. It might explain why this particular seller has so many of them.
Just a thought.
Pete Sync
It doesn't. I'm not saying it isn't the same head. Just saying when I look at the sample here it looks better than what I see on the screen.
And I stand by the rampage comment. The way the head was shaped, it was very hard to get a camera angle that didn't make it looks two dimensional.

What glorious version of the figure is that? Was it a custom? (Translation: I WANT ONE!)
Matty
I will re-iterate that I feel the head sculpt in the new pics looks fine, but I also need to say that we've heard the 'pictures don't do it justice' line before (Rampage). I'm hopefully that in-hand it'll truly be nice.
