The Transformers Collectors Club's membership exclusive for 2013 - Depth Charge - has had his bio card posted on the official Transformers Facebook page. The bio paints an interesting story for this version of Depth Charge - he is a character who, after incarcerating Protoform X aka Rampage, returns to a Cybertron ravaged by war and is sent on a mission to hunt down Maximal traitors - a hunt that leads him to the world of the Transtechs, Axiom Nexus. It is therefore not entirely clear if this is meant to be the same Depth Charge from pre-Beast Wars on a dimension hopping journey, or a different incanation from another part of the Transformers multiverse.

Of course, one could say that does not matter since he'll be whatever you want him to be once he arrives in your collection. To get Depth Charge, you need to be an active member of the Transformers Collector's Club by 16 March, that is a little over two weeks away. Find out more and sign up over at the Transformers Collector's Club homepage.

So true, I hope they use HftD Brawn for him.

Looks to be the HFTD Terradive mold.

Did I miss something? Didn't he die on Earth during the end of Beast Wars? I get that Funpub fiction likes to be its own thing, but..
Kaijumaster
this was news?! I saw that card two days ago.....nerts!

While I do like that mold, I'd rather save that for Ironfist someday. Wouldn't really need a new head either.

Rampage would be best as Cybertron Menasor or Cybertron Unicon. Probably wont happen though.
starscream-99
Nice. Hope he comes in soon.

Hey, remember back with Reunification, when SG Alpha Trion's minions included a Transtech Blackarachnia and Nightsceam? Those guy were from an alternitive timeline, where the Great War never ended, and the Maximals and the Predacons fought for the Autobots and Decepticons. BA and NS were part of Optimus Primal's squadron, but when Rhinox and Silverbolt were killed, they killed Optimus and fled to the Predacons. Then, with Scavenger and Immorticon, they traveled into Axiom Nexus, and with SG Alpha Trions minon Topspin, who came from Jhixauses forces in the Marvel comics universe and who was secretly part of the Nexus Prime, one of the 13, and switched their bodies with the Transtechs of the same name in Axiom Nexus. The Depth Charge of that universe was tasked by the High Council to find them, and he went to Axiom Nexus too. When he saw their susposedly dead bodies, he gave up and went on the streets.

Can you tell me where you read that story? Was that in the comics or elsewhere? Thanks

It spans from Transcendent, the 2008 story in the magazine, Blackarachnia's bio in the first magazine of the 2009 story, and from the most recent magazine's Depth Charge bio.

Thanks! I'll look that up. Sounds interesting.

Yeah, this is a shorted version of the full page biography printed in the last issue of the club magazine. He's a parallel version of Beast Wars Depth Charge who got stuck on Axiom Nexus. The last we saw of him members of The Convoy had hired him to go track down Ultra Mammoth and his crew.

The two members were the Japanese G2 magna (with Junpei) Optimus Prime (or would he be called Convoy?) and Jungle Planet Cybertron Optimus Prime by the way. He was playing a card game with Prime Slipstream, Classics Breakdown, Animated Jackpot, and new Circuit. All of them are in the TFSS.
Primal Sabbath
Can't wait for this guy, along with the rest of the FSS figures to ship!
Although, I wish the story behind this Depthcharge wouldn't be another typical "alternate universe" one. They could have done something along the lines of 2001 Botcon's story where the Vok sensed a great peril and brought Depthcharge back and rebuilt him with his remaining body parts and space ship and sent him to the Axiom Nexus to "find his true purpose."
Oh well, hopefully some great fan fiction can be made with him.
And I'm on the same boat as wanting a Rampage/Protoform-X! The Cybertron Unicron suggestion a few comments back would work really good.

According his bio the G2 Manga Convoy is called Optimus Prime, his nickname is Hero Optimus Prime.

Eh, your right. I just always thought when they came from Japanese originated universe, they call them by that name, like with Alteinity.

I'd go with hound with a new head for ironfist, ironfist with never that kibblely like the brawn tooling is but rampage was, the door sit kinda like his claws and even if its now shoulder mounted he dos have the 3 barreled cannon.
Escargon
I think Cybertron Unicron would fit Rampage the best.

That's always been a dream of mine.

Personally I would have used Energon Mirage for Depthcharge as well.
Escargon
That wouldn't work, Menasor is huge compared to Terradive. In the show they're around the same size.
TFW10
I saw this yesterday.
[Wing_Saber-X]
glorious. Now to hunt one down...
Ra88
Could use Prime Shockwave for Rampage. Bulky, and the claws on his shoulders can simulate the original crab legs. Even the giant spinning cannon fits him.

Wrong.

Cybertron Unicron all the way, yo.

Scale? HA! The franchise laughs at your scale!

Also, I always saw Rampage as being bigger than Depth Charge, ideally. Adds more to their dynamic.

I know scale doesn't exist, but still I'd have them ideally the same size.

Don't want to hunt Depth Charge. You can:
  1. Be a club member until 16 March
  2. Preorder one on BBTS or other online store
Of course... if you want to go to e-bay and hunt him there... is your choice.

The cheapest option is still becoming a member. $42 for Depthcharge, 6 magazines with, IMO, a really good comic story, and discounts on Botcon (if you so choose to go), and even preorders for the latest retail items at cheaper costs than BBTS, TFSource, etc is ideally the better of any options. Even on the boards you're looking at $55-$65 shipped for one.

Haha, yeah, thanks for the tip, man. Appreciate it. :

....... Although there is just one problem: I live in Asia...so the shipping is going to kill me one way or the other.

Does anyone know the two figures that are coming to the tf club, other depth Charge.

Lol yeah. The club has international membership for $82 (which I find to be a bit ridiculous, honestly), so I guess your best bet would be BBTS or the boards. But who knows? Maybe with the TFCC/Ehobby partnership thing going on Ehobby can have some of these made for folks on the eastern side of the world, unless that was a one-off thing they did, which I certainly hope not.

You missed out on the Figure Subscription Service bro. This year there were 6 made-to-order figures that went on sale back in like November or so last year and the 6 of them will ship throughout the year along with Depthcharge. Just keep an eye on the newsfeed of this and various other sites during Botcon so you can check out what the next FSS will be, if they decide to do it again.

yup, that's the main reason why I couldn't justify being a TFCC member.
Also, there is the little problem of also getting G2 Classics Scourge and Ultra Mammoth. :

Oh dude that sucks! Although I don't see why the FSS wouldn't be one of those Ehobby/TFCC shared exclusive things. Those two figures were definitely the selling point of the service to me.
StarLurker
On the subject of Cybertron Menasor as Rampage... I would rather that mold be used for Inferno some time down the road. Just compare it to TM Inferno/Scavenger!

No AEC toolings anymore so as good as he maybe he's not an option anymore.

I thought that was just for Botcon toys. I don't recall them saying anything about FSS & Club Membership figures. And with the way FunPub operates, unless it's specifically, officially announced that they will never touch AEC molds for anything (including FSS) they do, it's still in the realm of possibility.
Lumpy
Interesting story so far...
