Transformers Collectors Club Comic Preview- Featuring Subscription Service Characters

comic
The Transformers Collectors Club has updated their website with a comic preview, featuring the characters from the upcoming Subscription Service.

TCC members, here is an ADVANCE look at the Epilogue for this years TCC Magazine Comic story "A Flash Forward". While this was set to debut in print in Issue 48 of the TCC Magazine (following the conclusion of this years comic story), we decided that due to the fast approaching deadline for the TFSS, and all the interest in who and where these characters are from, to put the Epilogue online for all to enjoy!

Do not worry though, the Epilogue is spoiler free in regard to "A Flash Forward." What it does do though is give you a sneak peak in to NEXT years comic story. The 2013 TCC Magazine story will follow the events of "Transformers Invasion", so we will be switching to the Shattered Glass Universe. But we will say this. It is not at all what many of you will be expecting!

Swing on by their website for a look at the comic preview.

So Ultra Mammoth is brown in the comics?
engledogg
I think that's Jungle Planet Optimus Prime..or at least the mold and look is:

Shmax.com: Part Details

I really haven't paying attention to the comics too much, so I can't say for sure.

Holy crap!! Since day one I've been saying that I was going to use the sub figures (and DC) as a group like Exiles, and that's exactly what the club is doing!!! This just made my freaking day! Pete, was I the only one to "guess" this??
Shatterpoint
...Dammit, now I have to buy a subscription.

Here's when I first mentioned the idea:

Even recently using DC as the leader:

Nope
Depth Charge and Rhinox!
Scaleface
Now they are making me want to purchase an Animated mold! Damn you Fun Pub!

So that Origin Matrix was the one from the Ultra Mammoth toy, and the club membership figure was Depth Charge, we see Slipstream, Breakdown, Jackpot and Circuit playing cards... The only one missing is Scourge. I'd guess he's the one the Primes want Depth Charge to find!
Fallout
i can't stand transtech shit but wow, this looks cool.
Scaleface
SO wait, there is a ship full of Autobots who need ot be warned, who were lost... okay, it's Scourge and the Commandos!

I think it may be referring to the ships Prime and Megatron left Earth on.

It's possible that Scourge is SDCC Nemesis Prime and that Classics Ultra Magnus is Ultra Mammoth.

Slipstream could also be the Slipstream from Exiles.
Scaleface
Let's go completely wacky. It's two ships from the G1 universe, and possibly time is in flux... It's the Axalon and Darkside!
soymonk
Well, I like the way they drew Slipstream's head in the comics. Too bad the figure doesn't have a new headsculpt.
ORIO
well. uh... the artwork looks great at least

Matrix of Origin huh? I can dig that.

Incorrect. It do.

Classicsverse Axalon/Darksyde? I like this.

ESPECIALLY when you remember two things:

1. Ultra Mammoth's a Maximal.

2. Scourge in RiD was a clone...created by the PREDACONS of that series.

If this actually ends up like Exiles, it could be good. And I would want the club to work out something with IDW and get someone like James Roberts writing, given how much fun he could have with an Exiles style book.
HasTak
I just wiki'ed Slipstream and found pics of the deluxe toy. The head sculpt looks nothing like the one in the comics.

Now if they used the voyager SS toy and made a prettier sculpt for Slipstream's head, that'd be cool.

It does, it just doesn't look nearly as good as the artist's interpretation.
Oracle_Aesir
Looks to me like all those expensive toys from next year's Service are just cameos, except for the free Depth Charge.

The Prime's only say they need Depth Charge afterall...

Actually he isn't, he's an Autobot protoform, one of 6 sent to Earth to revive Fortress Maximus. He along with the others were reprogrammed by Megatron into Decepticons. You're probably thinking of one of the Nemesis Primes.

With those Combatron symbols on him, I don't see Scourge being Nemesis Prime (who would have regular Decepticon symbols). He's got to be RID Scourge, or more properly, Car Robots Black Convoy.

Great artwork. Crazyballs story. Also I love the cloaks...lol.

Am I alone in my antipathy for the Shattered Glass stuff?

Depth Charge's Poker Club? Sound like a lot of fun.

If I'm reading that table correctly, Jackpot's winning!

Warning, voice of dissent:

Really? Your solution to dealing with a cross-line set of toys was to say, "Screw it, we'll just start it like a D&D module."

You and your fellow party members are playing cards in the local tavern, it's been a few months since you last went on an adventure, but the down time is nice.

The quiet hum of the bar patrons is suddenly hushed as two figures in dark cloaks slip into the bar and begin stalking towards your table. As you and your companions look up, the figures whip off their cloaks revealing that they are elite warriors of the ruling government.

"The Universe needs saving" one snarls. "And while you're a mismatched set of bastards, we think you're the only ones with the skills to get the job done."

Armada's poke-plot tried more adventurous stuff than this....
Thundershot
I hope those aren't just cameos... That would be a huge letdown. I'd much prefer they be Depthcharge's "crew"

This is too true. The whole thing is so cliche and dull. You're exactly right, too, this is the beginning of nearly every badly thought out D&D campaign.
Girl Pants
Is Circuit the waiter or is he just tall? His toy is huge (given it's a Lockdown redeco), so it's hard to tell if he's sitting high or standing to serve drinks.

Now see, I think that's awesome, using the D&D approach. Sure it's cliche, but it's still fun.

no, i was excited when the Botcon comic appeared to be the end of that idea. it was a fun idea, but driven into the ground... and now it appears that even though the universe is gone, it still exists in the past and can be reached via time travel. just not sure i care about that. it seems like this idea could still exist in the main universe, or WoH universe, but oh well. guess we'll see how it plays out. i mostly just care about getting fun toys, the fiction is secondary for me.

It depends how it goes from here, really. If it plays out as a D&D parody, then that's fun, if it's just lazy writing to make a quick beginning, that's bad.

I really wish there was a Trade or something of the TFCC comics ... I never have any idea of what's going on.

I guess I'll dig out my copies of the club magazine and BotCon comics to catch up ...

dude, i agree... they did the first year as a trade, then stopped. they need to get on that again, cuz i'd be interested in checking it all out from the beginning again.

Absolutely. The Club fiction isn't bad at all IMO ... but it's hard to follow when I only read it once every 2 months or so!

For everyone who dislikes the way this adventure begins, I think that while it is a bit cliche, it's not something that makes or breaks the story as a whole.

Also add me to the group who would like Slipstream and company to be regulars, not just a cameo.

Also, just a bit of a continuity thing: G2: Redux is in the "Classicsverse" right? Or is it the Wings Universe? Or are they all the same? Either way, I'm just wondering if this Breakdown is the same one as in G2:Redux or not. Maybe they could have the two meet even. Could be a fun gag moment.

When you have such limited space for your stories, quick and dirty is often best.

FP has two main universes now.

Wings of Honor, which is "sort of" in the G1 US cartoon continuity, but still its' own thing.

Shattered Glass, which also comprises the "Classicsverse" Earth as, presumably, a "counter earth" in the Shattered Universe.

Then they have Transtech, which ties all the universes together like D&D's old Planescape setting (another D&Dism!).
