TFW2005 Coverage Of Hasbro's Investor Day 2011

Hasbro-Investor-Day-2011
Welcome to TFW2005ís coverage of Hasbroís Investor Day 2011.

We at TFW2005 attended the event online and here we are bringing you all the Transformers Goodies back from Hasbroís Investor Day 2011.

Many number of speakers including Hasbroís CEO Brian Goldner spoke about their plans for the coming year 2012 and beyond.

Take a look at all the juicy details and images, after the jump.

Brian Goldner stepped onto the stage to give us a taste of things to come. He mentioned that Transformers: Prime is the number #1 cartoon for boys in the UK.

Soon Eric Nyman came to talk about gaming. He mentioned that Transformers: Dark of the Moon Video Game is one of the top movie based games for the year 2011. And looking forward to play Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

David D. R. Hargreaves is the speaker for Hasbro Studios and Hub. We were given our first look at Transformers: Rescuebots cartoon Bumblebee.

Furthermore, Transformers Live Action Movie Optimus Prime is the hottest selling Optimus Prime toy ever. Hasbro is hoping Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime would follow suit.

Hasbro has high expectation on the Net Dragonís Transformers MMO for China.

Fun started after the Lunch Break, especially to those who were there at the event. Lots of Sneak Peeks.

Transformers: Rescuebots cartoon will feature their key products. And the show is set to start next week (that's what we heard they say. Could be a an error). We were then treated to a sneak peek video. Sadly however, only those who attended could see it, we can only hear it. Optimus Prime was talking to the Autobots. The voice is similar to Peter Cullenís. Canít tell for sure whether itís him or not.

Then a sneak peek of Transformers: Prime packaging.

They mentioned Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. It seems as though a full product line will accompany the game release.

Nothing much was told regarding the next Transformers Movie.

Q&A Session

Brian Goldner: ďAs we told you at the Conference Call, [We] had a discussion. Itís silly of us not to talk about another Transformers movie given the success of the third movie.Ē

That's it folks. See you at the next event. Thank you very much for tuning-in with our coverage!

That's what we heard they say it. They said next week. Even I'm surprised.
Megatron31
when they say movie prime selling very well, i wonder if it was a particular mold or just the character in genral
Noideaforaname
Kreo Battleship? Wonder if that's a gimmick version of the old game or if they're expanding the brand (which would make sense given they're making a movie).

EDIT:

I'm curious about this, too.
Megatron31
also FOC getting its own toy line, that is a great chunk of news
G1Wheeljack
I'm liking the Rescue Bots Bumblebee design, look forward to seeing it in the show. The packaging/display for Prime looks good, I do notice the First edition figures are present on the simulated endcap though.
Primal Sabbath
THIS! IS! AMAZING! So excited that Fall of Cybertron is getting it's own line!!
Also can't wait to hear more about TFP!

Maybe they'll spill the real beans for the estimated toy releases (you know, without the BS this time ) lol.

Yeah, it looks like the perfect blend of Animated & Prime.
prime326
Can not wait for FOC line and seeing the stores with that Prime display.
theestampede
foc getting its own toyline is great news.

Also, really like that rescue bots 'bee design, if they were to release a toy that looked like that (and had reasonable articulation) I'd prob buy it. Its so much better than the one they put in stores.
Mechafire
>FOC getting its own line

Oh fuck year.
Foster
My wife hates Bumblebee. I'm totally getting a Rescue Bots Bumblebee for the kids to troll her.

that's all he said about tf4?
Astronut
FoC toyline.....
That's awesome. Now I know where my focus on official toys will be in the near future.

yes

but as i said i hope DOTM is the final movie. (i am still a fan of the movies, but i always wanted DOTM to be the end)

>FOC getting its own toyline

I'm gonna need both hands for this one!
Matt_M
FoC as its own line is the best news I could have expected. Generations can take a backseat to that.
General Tekno
Ooo. Full product line for FoC.

Suddenly that new Bruticus is all the more plausible.

And as for the off-topic thought, I went "ooo!" at that Pinkie Pie with sculpted hair!
Omnius
A full FOC toyline? Ooh go on then, Hasbro.
Tikin
FoC. Full line.

My body is ready.

I hope we get a good spread of characters from all games in the series. Hasn't Shadow been saying we're gonna get all the Dinobots with a voyager Grimlock? Hope he's right. I'm betting Shockwaves a shoe-in because of his role in the game, we'll probably get Prime, Megatron, 'Bee, and Starscream, which would in turn lead to the other seekers. I'm betting they'll want to put out the generics too, how popular the Vehicons are looking.

Slipstream, Scattorshot, Brawl, Breakdown, and Barricade seem unlikely, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I doubt we'll get all of those, but odds are good we'll get a few.
Foster
I've always collected pre-earth modes, so I'm quite excited about the FOC stuff. The more, the better!
Barricade24
To bad the didn't mention much of anything on the movie line. But having full FOC toyline one the way is awesome! I guess I will need to grab the WFC figures then.
Shin Densetsu
Hoping FOC Prime will be a voyager but wouldn't be surprised if he's a deluxe like WFC Prime.
General Tekno
....you know, re: FoC being it's own line.

I think this is why Generations is on hiatus for 2012 as far as we know. Not because they're abandoning it, but because they're taking the WFC subline aspect of the original line and making a full game toyline.

...has any video game EVER had this level of support at launch? Closest I can guess is the more recent Halo games.

Crysis 2 is the only one that comes to mind. (For a game to have it's own toyline that is)

Also we need a Foc vortex!

I think Assassin's Creed gets a few figures with every release. Probably not at launch though. (and IIRC most of them are the main character in different clothes.)
General Tekno
Well, I'm not talking "a few figures" as that's been done before.

From the sounds of it, we're getting a whole line. If Shadow is to be believed, odds are we'll get a dozen figures or so.
Starfire22
My body is ready, unless a FoC bruticus is announced. (By the way is it actually confirmed that FoC is getting it's own line?)
Lbsammills51
Very cool regarding FoC. Hopefully we get the usual 3 Seekers out of this, along with whatever else is on tap (I won't get too excited about a Bruticus yet until definitive word is provided, so I don't get my hopes up too much quite yet).

I would've liked more word on what's going on with Prime in light of the angst over the First Edition stuff in the other thread, but oh well.
mysticbiscuit
Yes!! Can't wait for this. Hopefully we get all the dinobots. Time to start saving
shadow2879
Im glad to see that they have made more official mention of the FoC Toy line to back up what I have said.

They are coming... I told everyone the Dinobots would be getting FoC toys and it will happen.

So I don't have to wait for them to appear in stores
Omnius
This was a no-brainer, FOC toys were all-but-confirmed at Botcon.

Which ones and in what size class?
Ratchets Hatch

Well, judging by this picture, it seems like Hasbro is at least planning to have the First Edition toys at retail.
General Tekno
I can see the Dinobots selling well in a toyline, if only because a) Dinosaurs and b) Robots.

It strikes me that traditionally Hasbro's biggest obstacle has been justifying them in fiction.
