TFW2005 Coverage Of Hasbro's Investor Day 2011
We at TFW2005 attended the event online and here we are bringing you all the Transformers Goodies back from Hasbro’s Investor Day 2011.
Many number of speakers including Hasbro’s CEO Brian Goldner spoke about their plans for the coming year 2012 and beyond.
Take a look at all the juicy details and images, after the jump.
Brian Goldner stepped onto the stage to give us a taste of things to come. He mentioned that Transformers: Prime is the number #1 cartoon for boys in the UK.
Soon Eric Nyman came to talk about gaming. He mentioned that Transformers: Dark of the Moon Video Game is one of the top movie based games for the year 2011. And looking forward to play Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
David D. R. Hargreaves is the speaker for Hasbro Studios and Hub. We were given our first look at Transformers: Rescuebots cartoon Bumblebee.
Furthermore, Transformers Live Action Movie Optimus Prime is the hottest selling Optimus Prime toy ever. Hasbro is hoping Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime would follow suit.
Hasbro has high expectation on the Net Dragon’s Transformers MMO for China.
Fun started after the Lunch Break, especially to those who were there at the event. Lots of Sneak Peeks.
Transformers: Rescuebots cartoon will feature their key products. And the show is set to start next week (that's what we heard they say. Could be a an error). We were then treated to a sneak peek video. Sadly however, only those who attended could see it, we can only hear it. Optimus Prime was talking to the Autobots. The voice is similar to Peter Cullen’s. Can’t tell for sure whether it’s him or not.
Then a sneak peek of Transformers: Prime packaging.
They mentioned Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. It seems as though a full product line will accompany the game release.
Nothing much was told regarding the next Transformers Movie.

I'm liking the Rescue Bots Bumblebee design, look forward to seeing it in the show. The packaging/display for Prime looks good, I do notice the First edition figures are present on the simulated endcap though.

foc getting its own toyline is great news.
Also, really like that rescue bots 'bee design, if they were to release a toy that looked like that (and had reasonable articulation) I'd prob buy it. Its so much better than the one they put in stores.

I hope we get a good spread of characters from all games in the series. Hasn't Shadow been saying we're gonna get all the Dinobots with a voyager Grimlock? Hope he's right. I'm betting Shockwaves a shoe-in because of his role in the game, we'll probably get Prime, Megatron, 'Bee, and Starscream, which would in turn lead to the other seekers. I'm betting they'll want to put out the generics too, how popular the Vehicons are looking.
Slipstream, Scattorshot, Brawl, Breakdown, and Barricade seem unlikely, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I think this is why Generations is on hiatus for 2012 as far as we know. Not because they're abandoning it, but because they're taking the WFC subline aspect of the original line and making a full game toyline.

I think Assassin's Creed gets a few figures with every release. Probably not at launch though. (and IIRC most of them are the main character in different clothes.)

Well, I'm not talking "a few figures" as that's been done before.
From the sounds of it, we're getting a whole line. If Shadow is to be believed, odds are we'll get a dozen figures or so.

Very cool regarding FoC. Hopefully we get the usual 3 Seekers out of this, along with whatever else is on tap (I won't get too excited about a Bruticus yet until definitive word is provided, so I don't get my hopes up too much quite yet).
I would've liked more word on what's going on with Prime in light of the angst over the First Edition stuff in the other thread, but oh well.

I can see the Dinobots selling well in a toyline, if only because a) Dinosaurs and b) Robots.
It strikes me that traditionally Hasbro's biggest obstacle has been justifying them in fiction.
