Due to the success of last years event, TFcon will host the 2nd Annual 3rd Party Product Panel at TFcon 2012. We have invited 3rd party product manufacturers to contribute to a panel focusing on new images of upcoming collector focused toys. We encourage all 3rd party companies to contact us to be involved in this presentation that will have information shared to fans around the world.

Speaking of which there is now less than a week to preorder the TFcon 2012 exclusive SHAFTER figure and preregister for TFcon 2012! You can reserve the TFcon exclusive Shafter and register for TFcon 2012 via the online registration page.

TFcon 2012 features Canada's largest dealer room for Transformers merchandise, question and answer panels and autograph sessions with many special guests including Transformers Creator Bob Budiansky, Transformers voice actors Scott McNeil and Neil Ross, artists Derrick J. Wyatt, Andrew Griffith, Alex Milne, Matt Moylan and Silas Zee plus Hasbro Canada, Chris Ho (Vangelus) and Ben Dolle (Peaugh) with more to be announced.

TFcon - Canada's 11th Annual Transformers Collectors Convention is July 27th to 29th, 2012 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. The TFcon 2012 hotel block is still available.

This is why I need to go to TFcon.

That picture makes me laugh, "third product party"

Hope the convention is a hit and that everyone enjoys it!

It's a setup.
...As soon as they sit down to take questions Hasbro is going to drop a giant net on them!

Honestly I think tfc on should keep embracing 3rd party
It's not like hasbro Canada was able to show anything special at their panels
Keep embracing the thins we know botcon can't do

I hear this in Dave Chappelle's voice. lol

I'm hoping ToyWorld is there to tease us with some Optimus Prime images (or whatever it is they plan to name him). I'd also like to see more FP & MakeToys stuff, along with more 3rd party Superion/Aerialbots. But, I'd LOVE to see someone come out of left field & share a new 3rd party Bruticus/Combaticons with us (hopefully MakeToys, since I've already preordered Green Giant).

And on a side note, I wish I could make it! Always wanted to get a sketch from Alex Milne & hang with my Canadian brothers up there.

For a convention which embraces the ubiquity of the hobby rather than strictly the commercial commerce side of the house, I see no problems with this. After all the core audience for these products is in that audience. Well on this messageboard also, but in that room specifically.

Also, I respect that Hasbro Canada bowed out given their animus towards 3rd party, but in a perfect world all of these various vendors would be able to play together in the great big loving sandbox of fandom.

And for my part I'm hoping 3rd party announces something regarding Not Menasor. I've heard several company names in association with it, but no proto's or serious talk of release dates, etc. This convention would be a nice place to get at least some measure of assurance that something is coming down the pipe in 2013.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, and maybe it's already been posted/being discussed elsewhere, but is this saying Hasbro is basically pouting and taking their toys and going home?...that's hilarious if so...

What I love, if it's true, is that no one apparently backed down at the initial threat and the 3rd party panel will still take place...basically, there's more interest in the 3rd partys than Hasbros sh!t...fantastic!

Hosted by yours truly! and GMfan

Glad to see that they are being supported. Maybe one day Hasbro will take them seriously. (In a good way.) And work with them.

At least TFCon can boast real news. The hasbro panel is a regurgatation of SDCC but no one gets 3P news. Well no one until TFCon.

I will be there, can't wait!

Has TFcon ever had an official TF news exclusive?

I'll start the underground railround for 3rd party products. Fugly ones need not apply.

Hasbro created these 3rd party companies and now cry about them when they succeed.

Here is a hint Hasbro, Listen to the collectors and fans intead of your accountants, and you will be profitable!
Scaleface
You know I back TFcon's stance so much I think I'll set aside some money and get myself a Shafter! Shaft you Hasbro!

That wouldnt be hard to do really, get a double room at all the show's hotels and have an un-official 3rd party area. who could stop it?

I wish Hasbro/Takara would secretly make a 3rd party company. Go under the radar. Deny all accusations then sell you people overpriced toys under your noses.

Now that would be hilarious.

Maybe Toyworld. They got balls of steel.

"Third product party."

Yup.

How can Hasbro/Takara and the fandom let all of this happen?

Wait, so Hasbro's response to the third parties is to show up at a convention which is broadly supportive of third party toys and then not present to the fans anything which might compete with the third parties?

Hasbro if you're going to show up present, if you're not going to present but still show up I really don't understand what kind of message you are trying to send.
Hasbro Canada - Why didn't you act more Canadian?
David Hingtgen
If TFC is there, ask them if "Silverbolt" is going to be relatively kibble-free in jet mode. That's my #1 concern. (#2 is what type of plane he'll be)

(and could someone point out how wrong Phantom's nose is, for an F-4?) Eagle is pretty dead-on an F-15, but "Phantom" is like the back of an F-4 attached to a Skyhawk's nose or something.
