TFcon-Hurricane-Customising-Class-Figure
Another big thanks to 2005 Boards members Peaugh and Sage o' G-Fruit for sharing this one with us, as they has
ve brought us news and a picture of the 2012 TFcon customizing class figure! This year attendees of the TFcon Customizing class will be learning how to customise Generations Red Alert into their very own custom made Generation 1 / G2 Turbomaster Hurricane! Check out the picture Peaugh tweeted over to us by opening up the thumbnail to the left of the story.

strange choice of mold for this character...
classics mirage mold seems to suit better in my opinion

red alert is very easy to get, 15$ in the dealer room around the corner from the customization class, mirage, not so much

Hey for any tfconers out there did you paint the red parts on red alert blue or did the mold come pre-blue colored like at botcon?
Autobot Burnout
I think the Lambo Twins mold has been used for enough variations that we can consider it the Autobot version of the Classics Seeker mold now. Lamborghinis for everybody!

That, and obscure characters who do manage to be interesting, like this Hurricane guy, are what should be custom figures. Not things that could be justified as mass-produced club exclusives like G2 Sideswipe, if fan rage is anything to go by.

Anything that's a different color was painted in class. We were all given retail packaged red alerts at the beginning of the class.

PRID Wheeljack would have been perfect for that guy. I'm tempted to do one myself.

I for one, don't feel as if I'm missing out on anything.

Actually, the Red Alert version of the Lambo twins mold is a better match for the robot mode, as seen in this pic:

The entire car hood is on the chest, and while not a perfect match the spoilers end up in the same general area on the knees. It also makes the hood sticker much easier to make and apply, since on the PRID Wheeljack figure the hood is made up of no less than four separate parts that split and tuck away to form the legs.

poor red alert...everyone seems to always wanna change him...LEAVE RED ALERT ALONE!
LEAVE HIM ALONE...just occurred to me that a chris croker impression is useless when typed..I'm sorry guys. funny fail.

Gotta love the tech specs on this guy:

Quote:
Brilliant analyst. Super intelligent. Pins his defence plans down to the minutest detail. Almost clairvoyant in his forward thinking. As vehicle, rear facing turbine elevates for all round defence power. As robot, an imposing turbo-armed figure on the battlefield.

Here are my customs for the last 3 years of TFCON with this years "hurricane" on the middle bookended by camshaft and g2 flash. You have to remember that the figures that are used have to be available in large quantities so they can have enough for the students and enough replacements just in case something goes wrong. there are just not enough of molds like RID wheeljack and newer ones to get enough to work with. I had a blast in the class, a real custom class. I didnt feel like a factory worker assembling some product.

here here Matt.

i agree 100% people dont seem to realize that the figs need to be easily accessible and cheap like you said OR they are just upset / jealous that their crappy botcon class is just an assembly line that they dont really accually do much of anything where we do.

its Rob btw if you didnt realize by the name lol.
