im like the complete opposite from where canada is

I just finalized plans last week to go and didn't preregister... what time should i get there on Saturday to wait in line for a powered convoy? Also i know on friday night that you can get your weekend pass... is that true for people who didn't register yet and want to get into the dealer room early?

for 150.00 as a price tag no way but 79.99 you bet feels like im buying from ebay if i really wanted one but i dont.....

I stayed up late and listed all of my WSTF collection Wonderfest Arcee, G1 Magnus, all the chases, to fund this.

I don't remember when I sent the email, but the site did not say pre reg closed, it said to email, and I did, and asked for a form.

I got a reply later today of this news

I knew it was gonna be last minute, guess I will have to wait in line like everyone else.

artoni has threatened very publicly to take me, simply as something to keep her warm while in the frigid Canadian provinces. So I might be there. Maybe not. You'll have to wait and see I suppose.

Powered convoys have been selling in japan for 200-300

First off let me say that I like powered convoy, I want TFCon & Fanprojects to do well.

Dude… They’ve been pushing powered commander for a while now and with 8 days left they are only 50% sold out. According TFCon only 500mhave been produced and only 250+ have are on hold. Plus a lot of those on hold are for the scalpers. TFCon or its administration has some sort of relationship with kooltoyz and you can preorder it for $250 right now. Plus multiple people that email TFCon for registration forms or inquiries on no-attending packages have received emails offering a powered convoy for a fee. I don’t think its going to sell for $100 over cost. When the auctions flood eBay the law of supply and demand will takeover. I know it will be higher than $150 but considering that many brought city commander $79 and prefer that color scheme then powered convoy won’t go too high. I think shadow commander is the best version of this mold but it still hasn’t sold out.

Actually, people emailing TFcon asking for Powered Commander are being told that it's an exclusive only available to attendees of TFcon and that the convention will not sell it to them. This is why it is not completely sold out by now. If there was an "Iacon" package then it would be sold out. The reason Kool Toyz is able to offer it to people is because they are attending the convention so were able to buy it.

Got a link? Are you sure youre not confusing the Powered Convoy set with the Powered Commander set? Id be surprised to see them selling anywhere, period, as theyre not even on the market until next week.


I predict a lot of the Powered Commander sets are going to move due to walk-in traffic, and that a lot of people who have pre-regd are going to be picking up more. How this will affect the resale market soon after, I don't know, but there's been significant demand shown on the various boards. Also, I think its a little rash to call everyone who ordered them in advance a scalper, as many people are likely keeping them for their own collections or picking them up for friends.

I have no problem with people making money. They are providing a service for those that couldn't make it and wouldn't make any money if people wouldn't pay. Furthermore they have the right to purchase them. I not flaming about scalpers. I've sold items for profit. Some people would accuse me of being a scalper. I'm using the word to describe the action. No negative intent comes along with it at least in my opinion. I am aware people can pick up doubles, can pick up some for their friends and some pick up extra to sell. I wish I had a friend that could help and if I thought I could make a good profit then I'd purchase multiples. It speculating, plain and simple. I have no problem with that!

I'd love one and would be happy to pay $150.00 but I'd not really want to got past 200.00 on it.

Pertaining my reply to you via PM earlier, a source had just sent me an email update stating that there will be 2 VERSIONS for Powered Commander.

Normal & exclusive version with more chrome parts on the exclusive version. Was told that this is meant for Japan market but I don't know how true this is.

Anyone heard of this? Can someone verify?

Not true. The Powered Commander mold has been destroyed as per FansProject.

Is there a difference between Powered Convoy & Powered Commander? I read about Aernaroth post about not confusing Powered Convoy & Powered Commander set etc. so which is which??

Powered Convoy is the toy that Powered Commander was based off of is all.

Powered Convoy is a Japanese Diaclone figure which was repainted into Ultra Magnus and released in the original G1 Transformers line. Convoy, as in the Optimus Prime cab figure, Powered as in he has a different trailer he can merge with.

All the Fansprojects Classics Prime trailer sets use the ________ Commander naming scheme, that is, City Commander for Ultra Magnus (his original function), Shadow Commander (because he's black and evil), and to fit the pattern, Powered Commander, the TFcon exclusive, which is City Commander in the Powered Convoy colours.

Does that clear it up?

For a moment, I was thinking that FP probably made 2 versions of these with one named Powered Convoy & the other as Powered Commander. You know, maybe one as mass-released piece & the other as convention exclusive or something likewise. All those stuffs.

Well I don't know, I might be there first, seeing as I'm staying at the hotel the convention is being held at, conveniently located 0 minutes from the hotel the convention is being held at.

Dealer room pics please!!!!!

Aprim and I are here and the dealers room is awesome! Much more G1 items in is dealer room than there was in Botcon last year. The only beef I got is that a lot of it is very over priced, even when converting from CAD to USD.

I have 400 pics of everything to edit, please give me time.

you did really well on the panel I was at, the "lost in translation" one, great job all staff!

That convention was easily the best overall one I've been to since Botcon '07.

Botcon '08 was another Best Convention Ever, but that's for reasons entirely belonging to me and Fairlady_Z.
