Thanks to the Transformers Collectors’ Club’s Twitter, we have a few new looks at a handful of Transformers Subscription Service 2.0[/b] figures!
Mainly shown off are Chromedome and his partner Stylor. Also teased in one of the images is Chromedome’s Conjunx Endura, Rewind – although unfortunately, he isn’t shown in full yet.
In these images, we get a good look at the figures themselves, as well as Chromedome’s and Rewind’s new heads. These heads were designed by fan-favorite Transformers artist Nick Roche, and are inspired by IDW’s popular More than Meets the Eye series.
The Club is assuming that Stylor (and the rest of the Micron partners) will come pre-assembled, but says that things could change.
Check out the images after the jump, then share your thoughts in the discussion thread!

For that matter, Pete, when WILL the TFSS stuff start shipping?
Cast
EXTREMELY… indefinite.

VERY… soon.

Soon!

Hey, Pete. When can I use the TFCC forums again?
Pete Sync
Not exactly how that all happened…
SouthtownKid
Okay. Full disclosure: I don't know much about the club other than that they facilitated a ton of identity theft.

Yeah, I got the FP Code X figure. Very great place holder for Chromie. As will Hardbone from Toyworld.
G.B. Blackrock
That begins to make sense, but remember that if you aren't a member, and buy from the store using the "non-member" price, you're paying to become a member simultaneously (and thus are getting all the other membership benefits, including the incentive figure for the year).
The "non-member" price really shouldn't ever be used as a source for reference. It's meaningless.
SouthtownKid
Sorry, yeah, I was listing the online store marked-up price. Not a club member.
G.B. Blackrock
Yeah, $89.99 for even a club/convention deluxe toy is an exaggeration by any measure. If you're going to malign the process, at least do so with accurate numbers.
Thundershot
Where are you getting $89.99 at? I'm looking at my invoices for the first two 2.0 figures, and it's $46.50 each.
That extra $43.49 is the online toy stores markup, not the club.
SouthtownKid
Exactly. I'm not saying they should charge less. I've never said that. I've only said I don't think the toy is worth that. Regardless of whatever it costs them to produce it, it has the hollow limbs and engineering of a $15 toy.
It's a clever repaint and the new head is not bad. If it was Hasbro producing it for retail, I'd be a little disappointed they went repaint instead of a new toy, but I'd probably pick one up for $15 and be fairly happy. But for the price the club needs to charge to make a profit, I'd rather spend the money on something new than another TFP Wheeljack.
I have no third party TFs in my collection at all, but I'd be sooner tempted to spend the same price on a completely new and more accurate to the original character 3rd party Chromedome than spend the same $89 on another $15 Wheeljack with a new head.

You are correct. The consumer's concern is simple: If price exceeds willingness to pay, don't buy.
SouthtownKid
Look. We get the logistics. That's not what we are talking about. WE ARE CONSUMERS. WE DON'T HAVE TO CARE ABOUT THE INSIDE BASEBALL BS OF PRODUCING THE TOY. The fact of the matter is that it has all the plastic of what we can buy off the shelf as a $15 (or CHEAPER) toy. We all understand it costs them a lot more money to produce. But the collectors club's worries are not the consumer's concern.

I'm looking forward to this figure…..because I'm not interested in most of the other figs I'm ok with overpaying for him. Just like I was with Breakdown.
This year its Ironfist,Treadshot & Chromedome for me!!
Doc Wheeljack
Thanks Mocha! The insight is appreciated!

Don't worry, if history is any guide they won't be too hard to get (for a little while), if you're willing to pay a bit more. The club sometimes has leftover stock that they put up for sale after it's released, and as someone mentioned earlier these will probably be available through sources like BBTS as well (again, for a bit more).
FYI, this figure is part of the TFCC yearly subscription service, so pre-ordering it really amounted to subscribing to the service (which included six figures). But if this is the only one of the six figures you are interested in, you're better off just paying a bit more and buying it a la carte later on.
