Well, the TFCC will be doing a subscription service, and they've shown us the first 6 figures. Including something I've been bitching about for a year, RTS G2 Prime in SCOURGE colors. Looks like they are doing it, and calling him SCOURGE. So yay to that. Check out the pics of them all after the break, and check Sol Fury's live coverage of the whole panel for details on the rest!

Man they have been getting non-stop flak since December. I wonder how they'll survive this panel?

They'll all put on rings of power and vanish?
Bountyan
Hopefully more info about Scourge.

That wouldn't work, TF fans can smell fear.

I'm just wondering how people will react if they reveal Scourge as a club exclusive.

They'll survive because they are going to reveal Scourge and other much anticipated fan favorite figures and everyone will suddenly forget / stop caring about the club's problems.

Same as every other year.

Btw, Pete already confirmed in another thread in a roundabout way Scourge is a club figure.

I see their being flak for making Scourge an exclusive.....still atleast it being made at all is a good thing.

Bring the rage lol. I want a good "blow by blow" if they open it up to questions from the audience. Please include nervouse stammers or mean mugging if you can
I actually annoyed Brian Savage in 08 when I asked about updating the registration so we didn't need to use faxes anymore lol. I talked to him away from the panel & he was nice as can be but I still remember chuckling at his annoyance of my panel question.

BTW props to the lads live blogging & podding from the event!
I doubt I'm ever going to commit to attending a 3rd botcon but I sure enjoy living vicairiouy through them every year.
Mechafire
This is gonna be fun.

You guys worry / are expecting too much

I foresee the following happening:

"Hey guys, we know a lot of people are upset at what happened; unfortunately, we still can't discuss the details because of the ongoing investigation, so we can't take any questions about this subject.

We can say that we have upgraded our security, opened a new website and switched to a trusted vendor to take your credit cards; we're going to make this year the best we possibly can, and we're going to start with the toys!

*Toy Reveal*

*Fans forget about their issues upon seeing Scourge and other figures*"

Even if they open up questions, it will be nothing but "We can't comment at this time" and a bunch of spin... similar to what we got in the forums.

Maybe someone will get crazy angry and they'll have to call security; now THAT would be something. Some disgruntled guy attending Botcon just waiting for this moment.

Ask to borrow their credit card for the club store. Assure them it will be kept secure. :-)

I normally don't care about tuning in to any of the live coverage, but this is something I can't/won't miss. >D

It's a wonder Hasbro still holds conventions with people like this populating the fanbase.

That's a joke Splits. Besides I want a Shitpiece toy.

There you go, all you got for the credit card incident was a brief apology and they've moved right on to the toys

Is that videotaped? I think every Transfan wants to hear it from them.

Under rug swept.

I'm sure I may be in the minority on this, but the whole "Shattered Glass" thing has absolutely zero appeal to me. Goofy ass repaints with a convoluted story built as nothing more than a way to fund the "fan club". You mean to tell me they couldn't come up with other, more interesting toys from the decades of Transformers lore to have as exclusives? Though, I guess it's pretty brilliant on the part of whoever came up with the whole thing. This fandom is weak as hell when it comes to being selective about the shit they'll throw their money down on.
Roufuss
If that was the best they could do with Gigatron with what they had, in their words, why bother even making him Gigatron? Why not just use a different character?

I don't understand these club decisions; was somebody forcing them to make the tank Gigatron? Why not choose another obscure tank Transformer that worked better?

It's almost like they came off apologetic for him because they singled him out, like they realized it wasn't a good figure or something.
Shin-Gouki
We screwed up, but ignore that and look at this

Hey I like Gigatron. It honours Masterforce and the ending to LSOTW.
lildevilchick
A subscription service with figures. Is that like with the magazines, only with toys?
hardreturn
subscription service like matty club or whatever it is?
Roufuss
Oh shit, subscription service.

Here it comes.

Sorry about the business with the hacking, but now give us MORE money. We upgraded our security, honest!

This service sounds expensive so far... two to three figures per month? At the club's $50 per figure?
Sinnertwin
Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiit
RustyMuffler
Figure subscription service? Hahahahaha! So they are turning into Matty Collector after all. Jackasses.
Alucard77
How the f do I watch this? Does this not work on the iPad?
lildevilchick
What's Matty Collector?
Autovolt 127
What's figure subscription?
hardreturn
so…shit. is this how we get scourge?
MWG
They have been trying to get a Joe subscription service going since last year's Joe con. The fraud issues have stalled that though.

Straight from the panel through TFW for people who can't access it:

Quote:

Promising something for everyone

Not telling us the order they will ship in is
3:26
On to the figures
3:25
Or you can buy a single figure later - but if you subscribe the price is cheaper.
3:25
Idea is you'll be assured the figure and they'll be built to order - with a bit over for extras / replacements
3:24
This is intended to replace the existing problems with the exclusives
3:24
Talking about some technical specs, general stuff about how you can change your address - looking at 2 or 3 figures per month
3:23
Either pay up front or in three installments
3:23
Sign-up period of 3-4 weeks
3:23
Going to show all the figures for the subscription service
3:23
No pricepoints yet
3:23
Wanted to make sure all the security was good before they roll this out
3:22
Hoped to have it up already

3:22
TFCC just announced a figure subscription service
Scantron
2 - 3 figures per month? That seems like quite an increase from 2 - 3 per year now.
