Stan Bush has personally confirmed a few news tidbits for Seibertron. He has announced that he will be performing at Botcon 2009 on May 30th. He also confirms that his classic Transformers: The Movie anthem, "The Touch" will appear on Activision's Guitar Hero videgame as a free download. Also Stan Bush states that "The Touch" will be featured on several Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen toys and he has a new version of the song which he'll be submitting for ROTF. Stan Bush will also be performing at JACON (Japanese Anime Convention) in Orlando, FL during Memorial Day weekend on May 22-23.

I received the following message from our friend Stan Bush, famous for his song "The Touch" which was originally released with the animated Transformers: The Movie soundtrack back in 1986.

Hey Ryan,

Hope things are good with you. I wanted to send you the link for a new music video we did using "The Touch" as a tribute to the troops. It would be great if you guys would post the link on your site.

YouTube - THE TOUCH - A Tribute to the U.S. Military by Stan Bush

Also, I've been holding off announcing this, but "The Touch" is going to be in Guitar Hero! Activision will be releasing it as a free download. I'll contact Activision this week to find out the release date and let you know.

Hasbro is releasing two new TF2 toys in May containing "The Touch"! It looks like I'll be performing at BOTCON 09 here in L.A. on May 30th with my band. (I should get confirmation this week.) Also, I'll be appearing/ performing at JACON (Japanese Anime Convention) in Orlando Memorial Day weekend (May 22-23).

Lastly, we're just finishing up a totally new, killer version of "The Touch" which we'll be submitting for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. I'll send you an MP3 as soon as it's done.

Take care and we'll talk soon!

Stan
Kickback:
Gun guitar! Fuck me!
Icespark:
I'm really glad that Stan Bush personally reconfirmed his appearance at Botcon this year! He said he was going in that interview a while back, but it seems like everyone seemed to have missed the news!
llamatron:
FUCK. YES.

I don't care about a potential ROTF premiere anymore, just give me some of that Stan Bush please.

Oh and looks like I'll have to finally cave in and get some guitar hero...
Fairlady_Z:
Cool vid! Yea for Stan! Too bad I can't afford BotCon this year.
03Mach1:
Stan can wear leather anywhere, anytime. A little bit like Chuck Norris.
Soundwave84:
Hell ya i would learn Guitar Hero for stan bush!!!!
MaxGoof:
YESSSSSSSS!!!

This totally makes Botcon for me. I can live even if there's no ROTF Premiere at Botcon now.
Solrac333:
Every time I hear that song, I think of Optimus shooting a bunch of Decepticons.
NGW:
Yay for The Touch finally making it to a rhythm game.

BOO! For it being Guitar Zero instead of Rock Band.
Alexander Quinn:
"Hasbro is releasing two new TF2 toys in May containing "The Touch"!"

How exactly does the song come with toys?

Same way they come with other songs/soundbytes?
samtastic:
"Dare" is a better song than "The Touch".

Love to hear a remix of either on the ROTF Soundtrack!

Agreed on both accounts.

I'm guessing Ultimate Bumblebee or a couple of Powerbots.
starscream-99:
Stan bush rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PrimulArchangel:
Ok sorry guys but im not on the love it wagon.. Where exactly would that song fit into the new movies? Nowhere thats where lol.. Well it could be playing on the radio of a passing car or during the credits, but thats about it. I think that is one of the worst 80's songs ever written and this guy is milking it for all its worth. He should just slap some udders on it. Even if he updated it the lyrics were bad as well.

Dunno , i dont see Bay giving the green light on it this time around either. Maybe in part 9 or something..
Sky Shark:
Oh that is sooo awesome! I hope tthe new one gets used in the movie. I would have liked to see it on Rock Band but I don't really care I will buy what ever Gituar Hero game you need for it if its not 3. I've been meaning to get world tour for a while now anyways. If it is in world tour I'm actually a bit more happy for that seeing as the drums will be a bit closer to the song than they can be with RB.
DazzalingFury:
Sweet! Good old Stan Bush will make Botcon even more awesome Just love that song from the 1986 Movie
firehawc_69:
Seriously, was "The Touch" this guy's only claim to fame? I mean, it's iconic in its place and time, but I think its use in Boogie Nights was about as throw-back as we need to go with it. Why don't we use Weird Al's "Dare to Be Stupid" in the same context?

No, but it what many TF fans want to hear. He's already done 3 versions of "The Touch", and fans just keep wanting to hear more. I'd prefer another version of "Dare" though.
Scottimus:
i remember hearing awhile back that stan bush was pushing Activision real hard on putting his song out for guitar hero. i dunno why he wanted it done so bad, but damn he must really like that song or something...

also he only submitted the new version of the touch for the sequel. its probably awful, and i bet production takes a listen and says, "thanks, but no thanks".

i love that song in the original movie, but that poor guys gotta write some new material, hes milking that song for all its worth 22 years later... fail.
dorfsquest:
That's pretty cool about "The Touch" in Guitar Hero...

But....

If he is gonna submit a song for ROTF and have it actually be accepted, he's gonna have to modernize his sound. 80s hair metal just doesn't cut it with most people these days.
transformers32:
WoW some haters in here. Man I love that song and hope he signs autographs at botcon this year. I need to find the cd cover to the 86 movie. Cant wait till the annonce some other guests at botcon this year..
Crazymadman:
does this mean the touch will be in tf 2?!?!

Considering the crap that made it on to the second half of the 2007 soundtrack, most of which didnt make the film a remake of The Touch would certainly be step up in quality and a much better homage than a number of lines from the animated movie that made the first film.
Sol Fury:
My brother loves the sound of playing "The Touch" in Guitar Hero
Me, I'll just enjoy the inevitable Botcon Guitar Hero contest involving it.
DELTAsnake:
I really shouldn't be saying this since I'm a Activision share holder, but, why Guitar Hero? Rock Band 2 is a far better game than GHWT and I'd love to play The Touch in the best music game, Rock Band 2.
Starscreamer95:
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
toma:
oh man, the touch in guitar hero? sweet.... i'm gonna have to break out the band kit again!

I wish they would have done a track pack as Dare is an outstanding song, and would be great on GH too
Simian:
I have to agree with the haters on this one...While the song was good for its time and for the animated flick it is irrelevant for today..Stan is a talented musician no doubt, but sheees "It is the year 2009" new material would be appreciated..He is milking the song when the cow is done dry. The Guitar Hero news is great as it will be fun...But dude, move on, he is just looking desperate now.
Voiceroy:
Damn. How misleading. I thought "The Touch" was going to be featured on General Hospital.

With Track number 3 being the Lion version of the theme? Yeah, that would've been great. Here's open my oldgen PS2 sees this song at some point as well.
thygriever:
OMG OMG OMG ... new version too?? OMG OMG

yes i also imagine a triumphant optimus when i hear this song. it's his victory song.. sorta
Infosaur:
OMG WTF?!? The Touch is totally dated! What relevence does 80's music have to current audiences? OMG! Old music sux!!

Didn't seems to stop Watchmen from using Dylan and Hendricks to great effect though
shatteredirony:
Awesome just what Guitar Hero was lacking
shibamura_prime:
HELLZ YES.

That's all I've got to say.
Socialvegetable:
I'm hoping this is available for GHIII, as I've since moved on to Rock Band1/2, but a track pack featuring Dare and Lion's theme would sway me to buy a used copy of World Tour.

Stan looked pretty dorky in his black leather getup in the desert, lip synching to a 20-year old track, but at least he wasn't rocking acid wash denim. A new version of the song could be interesting, and I think that the original would be perfectly suited to pop up on Bumblebee (or one of the twins') radio for a few seconds as a humorous homage.

I agree that Dare's the better song, though.
SmokescreenWRX:
Guitar Hero, huh? Too bad. I guess the Activision connection was strong with this one.
I really don't play RB anymore, and I don't think I can justify paying for GH for one song.
VaderPrime1:
Cool, but too bad I won't be at BOTCON and I don't have any GHs, but cool!
salmonman78:
damn me and my ps2!
Big Filipino:
How do you download songs for GH on the Wii? I have it but never even knew that option was available. Is it limited to only certain versions of GH?
Optimatron:
Wow. That song should have died with Prime in 86. I'm sorry for anyone who thinks that song is good music. As much as I am a geewunner, I hope they leave this song out of Rotf. The "touch" ALWAYS gave me the NO feeling, even as a kid. HAHA cheesy '80s metal hair bands, haahaa.
Grimwing:
Toys with "The Touch" confirmed?! ROTF toys no less.
(Yeah I'm not going to botcon so this is the bit of news I'm clinging to)

I'm guessing its more cyber stompers. Since bumblebee had the g1 theme last time. Hopefully though we'll get something nicer; something more 25th aniversary flashy.

The music for the Transformers movie is part of what makes it enjoyable on repeated viewings. My favorite movie of all time.

Hardcore g1er.

Well, one of the toys is the new Ultimate Bumblebee, which was confirmed to play The Touch back at Toyfare. I'd guess that the 2nd (if there is one) would be a cyber stomper or something along those lines.
