Updated story, Robot Kingdom has clarified their order page to state Generations Metroplex is rumored to have a convention exclusive color, not a color attached to any specific or other convention.

Word reaches us via 2005 Boards member Onslaught24 that the Transformers Subscription Service figures - first revealed at Botcon 2012, with orders taken back in September of last year - have been delayed. The new delivery date for the figures to Fun Publications is now expected to be in June. No reason is given for the delay.

It is worth considering that although no reason is given for the delay, past Botcon Q&A sessions have indicated that the Transformers Collectors Club figures - exclusives or member freebie figures - have tended to be produced alongside the Botcon figures for that year. Given the late June date for Botcon, this delay would also be consistent with the production of the Botcon figures, so this fan would venture that the delay is on a factory level.

We will of course provide an update once more information is available.

NJCC 2013 is proud to announces our new Transformers guest artist Andrew Griffith! Best known for his work on IDW's Robots in Disguise or the "RID" as we like to call it, Andrew will have prints, comics, original pages for sale, and will be doing sketches as well.

VAN GUARDIAN
ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Gobits
FUNCTION: Chief of Security
“You honestly think you can get past me?”

Profile: Graduating top of his class from the Heroic Gobit Academy, VAN GUARDIAN was immediately assigned to important security duty on his home world. When the war broke out and BIKEMURDER raided GOBITRON, VAN GUARDIAN and his team were captured only to be rescued by CAPTAIN-1 and his crew. Impressed with how long he was able to hold up against almost impossible odds, CAPTAIN-1 recruited VAN GUARDIAN for his Earth team as the Gobit war continued to rage on the other side of the galaxy. Opting for the new generation modifier design his new body is now ready for whatever battle may come his way. Many younger Gobits and academy students look up to him. Smart, tactical and courageous, VAN GUARDIAN is one talented bot.

Abilities: Robot mode flight and high powered laser blasts from his fists which are standard with almost all Gobits. With his new body, he now has an optional high impact battle mask and SHOCK GUN for when he needs to protect his fellow Gobits. He also possesses a unique ability to detect close by enemy scanner devices keeping him always a step ahead of the enemy.

Weaknesses: If VAN GUARDIAN has one fault it is that he is very arrogant. He sometimes thinks the battle is won way before the final shot is fired and that tends to get him in some serious situations. Being revered by so many Gobitronians has gone to his head.

TFcon, the world's largest fan-run Transformers convention will take place July 26th to 28th, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre. TFcon 2013 features Canada's largest dealer room for Transformers merchandise, question and answer panels and autograph sessions with many special guests including Transformers voice actor DICK GAUTIER the voice of RODIMUS PRIME with more to be announced. The TFcon 2013 hotel block is now available.

Botcon has uploaded a page preview from the 2013 comic on to the Botcon 2013 homepage. The Machine Wars Termination comic preview shows Strika, Obsidian and Hoist (along with Octane, from Universe Octane) on a battlefield and pinned down by enemy fire. Check out the preview of the comic art at left.

NJCC 2013 adds Dan Khanna as guest Transformers Artist. Dan started his Transformers career as a fan artist, creating commissioned drawings of Transformers characters and action scenes. He gained fame in the community, and has since become part of the creative team for the new Fun Publications-run Fan Club and conventions, illustrating and plotting Club & BotCon comics as well as designing heads and character mock-ups for exclusive toys.

Europe's largest Transformers convention, Auto Assembly, has unveiled their first ever exclusive. Exclusively available and up for preorder now is Robot Manuel X! Robot Manuel X is a homage to Robot Man X, a Generation 2 recolor of Autobot Topspin who was available in the early 1990s in South America. He is a redeco of the MechIdeas Demolition Crue Apex.

Robot Manuel X will retail for £47.25. He is an extremely limited piece and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow as many attendees as possible to add Manuel to their collection, he will be limited to a maximum of one per person, and as with all unofficial third party releases sold at Auto Assembly, he is an adult collectible only available to ages 18 and over. He will also be available to those buying the Auto Assembly 2013 non-attendee pack, which will go live shortly. Preorders for the exclusive toy are available - open link to view.

Robot Manuel X is one of a two-part set and his “spark-mate” will be made available at another Transformers Convention this Summer, which will be announced at a later date.

In more Botcon news, today we've got our first look at the 2013 box art mock up. Reminiscent of the old Machine Wars box art of more than a decade ago, Obsidian is prominently displayed in his new colors scheme, as well a a quick peak at Obsidian and Strika in alt mode. Word reached us a few days ago via the Transformers Collectors Club magazine that Botcon Obsidian would now be in show accurate colors, and earlier today, Botcon.com was updated to reveal the images in all their Beast Machiney glory!

Hot on the tails of our initial news post of this exclusive figure for the upcoming Charticon convention, the guys organizing the inaugural convention have been posting a TON of updates on this highly anticipated figure! We've decided to devote a single "round-up" for them, so that you can view them all in one update!

The major news is that it is, in fact, including TWO Targetmaster type figures! These are redecos of the Mastershooter Collectible figures, courtesy of site sponsor Captured Prey. Attached to this article is a mock-up of those figures.

This figure is super-limited, and the "non-attendee" packages have sold out. However, don't fret! You can still join the party by attending the convention, as there are still attendee sets still available! Jump on over to the ordering page if you plan to join the party! Also, there is some important information here if you plan to attend and order this figure.

Also, if you have some skills but can't attend, the head sculpt is offered separately! 80s Toy Expo will be collecting toy and collectible donations for the TFcon 2013 Make-A-Wish Charity Auction at the show this weekend. If you bring a new toy or collectible you will get into the dealer room 15 minutes earlier than your ticket time. Last year TFcon raised $2705 for Make-A-Wish Canada in their first ever charity auction, help us beat that.

The 2013 Canadian 80s Toy Expo will be April 14th, 2013 at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel and Conference Centre – 6750 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario. Special guests include Larry Kenney the voice of Lion-O in Thundercats and former WWF Superstar Tito Santana.

The show features a huge selection of vintage 80s toys and all the latest releases from today such as Super Heroes (Marvel Universe/Legends, DC Universe etc), Star Wars (new and vintage), GIJoe (vintage and modern), Transformers (vintage and Japanese imports), Masters of the Universe (vintage and modern),Wrestling, and tons of other Action Figures and collectibles. Free parking.

The latest issue of the Transformers Collector's Club Magazine, #50, has begun arriving in mailboxes. The top story in the issue is the confirmation that Hasbro will be making a Generations Hoist. He is a remold of Generations Trailcutter with a new head and a crane attachment in place of the back of the truck. The crane transforms into his gun.

Other highlights of the issue include:

• Collector's Club membership figure of Depth Charge as a homage to Marvel Transformers #22
• Double page spread on the Botcon 2013 Machine Wars Termination Boxed set exclusives. Obsidian is now reportedly sporting an altered deco based on his appearance in the Beast Machines series. It is referred to as a "revised concept image".
• The comic continues the Shattered Glass Beast Wars plotline. The Transformers Menagerie section covers the Dinobots. Bios are presented for Beast Wars Grimlock & Beast Wars II Dirge.
• E-Hobby Magnificus will be available through the Transformers Collectors Club. Preorders will open 15 April 2013, price is $90.

As the GI Joe fans among us already know, this weekend is JoeCon! Hasbro as always were in attendance and, via our GI Joe sister site Hisstank, we can share a little news on the San Diego Comic Con exclusives for 2013. Please note, this applies to the GI Joe exclusives rather than Transformers ones:

SDCC can't be shown because they contracted with a national outlet for initial unveiling.

SDCC hint - Will be a bigger set, fill a void for many collectors, will have a surprising amount of figures they think the fans will be happy with. Didn't say it would be Joe/TF, but hinted it will probably carry forward.


What we can take from this is as follows:

• The SDCC exclusives will be shown through a national outlet at some point, probably USA Today or MTV Geek in the next two months.
• While not confirmed, we may get another GI Joe / Transformers crossover set like the pictured Starscream Skystriker.

Brian Savage is also on record as having approached Hasbro Toy Shop with a view to offering the GI Joe SDCC 2013 exclusives through the GI Joe club store - we can infer from this the possibility that the Transformers SDCC 2013 exclusives might also be a part of the same deal and potentially offered through the Transformers Club Store.

TFcon is honored to welcome Transformers voice actor Dick Gautier to TFcon 2013 for his first ever Canadian convention appearance.

The voice of Rodimus Prime and Hot Rod in the Generation 1 cartoon; in addition to the characters Apeface, Firebolt and one of the Sweeps; he is also known to GIJOE fans as the voice of Serpentor. Mr. Gautier will be taking part in Q&A panels and autograph sessions with the attendees of the world’s largest fan-run Transformers convention.

TFcon – The world's largest fan-run Transformers convention will take place July 26th to 28th, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre.

TFcon 2013 hotel block is now available, the group rate is good for July 24 to July 31, 2013 at the price of $109 per room. No deposit is required to reserve your room now. You have until July 23rd to cancel your room if you can't make the convention.
