SDCC 2014 G1 Dinobots and Pop-Up Ark Gallery

Posted on 07-31-2014 at 01:11 PM by Tony_Bacala under San Diego Comic Con
SDCC-Dinobots-018 San Diego Comic Con has come and gone; we've returned back to homebase and are starting to get back in the flow of things. We've done up a gallery for the SDCC 2014 G1 Dinobots box set. This set comes with a pop-up-book style box that turns into a G1 Ark playset. A truly masterful execution I must say. The figures are G1 colored versions of recent Age of Extinction Dinobots, giving you Grimlock, Snarl, Slag, and Swoop in "proper" colors (those are their names, shut up).

Back when Hasbro sent out some early review copies of the AoE figures, I mentioned that I would probably skip the Dinobots, but would consider grabbing them if they got released in G1 decos. Well, they did, and I did. So good job on that Hasbro, I kept my end of the bargain. Upon seeing the set, my first complaint was "WTF no Sludge!" Well, they even addressed that, and made him available in this color scheme, separately through Amazon. So, I can't say jack. The box/playset is a masterpiece, the figures are properly colored and look solid as a team on a shelf. Mission accomplished.

Check out some key shots after the break, and check the full gallery here: SDCC 2014 Dinobots Box Set with Ark - Full Gallery

Summer Wonder Festival 2014 Coverage: Poseable Arcee and Elita-1 and Sentinel Black Zarak

27456045d1406429704-fewture-arcee-elita-1-figures-1406429421917 TFW2005's coverage of Summer Wonder Festival in Japan continues, this time thanks to images from 2chan.

First off, we have images of upcoming poseable figures of Generation One Arcee and Elita-1 from Fewture Models (similiar to the Optimus Prime and Alpha Trion articulated figures we originally reported on during the last Wonder Festival in February.) Secondly, Sentinel (company behind toylines such as Riobot, as well as the Optimus Prime transforming pen) has revealed that they will be producing a retool of their previously revealed Gigantic Action non-transforming Zarak toy into Black Zarak from Transformers: Masterforce! This non-transforming collector's piece is perfect for those who are very wary of the original Black Zarak's infamous Gold Plastic Syndrome. Unless you want a Transforming Black Zarak, that is.

Stay tuned to TFW2005 as we bring you more news from Summer Wonder Festival as it happens!
