Hasbro 2015 Q1 Earnings Conference Call - Transformers Saves The Day

Posted on 04-20-2015 at 12:27 PM by SilverOptimus under Conventions
Hasbro-2015-Q1-Earnings-Transformers-1 Hasbro held their 2015 Q1 Earnings Conference Call few hours ago and they have done well thanks to Transformers (from Boys Category) and My Little Pony (from Girls Category).

"Additionally, 2014 had two very significant motion pictures in the summer months, Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Both of these films benefited from shipments in the first half of last year. In 2015 there is a tremendous film slate we are supporting, headlined by The Avengers: Age of Ultron in theatres on May 1st and Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18th. These release dates are spread across a greater period of time versus last year’s concentrated timing of summer releases. There are also several other notable films this year, including Jurassic World on June 12th, Ant-Man on July 17th and our own Jem and the Holograms on October 23rd."

"Finally, revenues grew 74% in the Entertainment and Licensing segment. This strong performance was the result of growth in lifestyle licensing revenues for Hasbro Franchise Brands, notably MY LITTLE PONY and TRANSFORMERS, as well as the contribution of a multiyear digital streaming deal for Hasbro Studios programming."

During the Q&A session, Hasbro CEO thanked the Transformers Franchise and stated that Transformers saw the fastest growth in the last quarter.

You can find more information regarding Hasbro's 2015 Q1 results after the jump. Selected slides from the presentation are attached with this news post as well.

Transformers Hall of Fame 2015 - New Categories - Sound Off Now!

Posted on 04-13-2015 at 01:20 PM by Tony_Bacala under Conventions
Transformers-Hollywood-01 Hasbro sent out the call for this years Transformers Hall of Fame nominations and it's time for you to sound off! This year they will be inducting into 3 separate categories.
• FAVORITE TRANSFORMERS CHARACTER (Fictional Robot Character)
• BEST COMBINER ROBOT (Fictional Robot Character)
• BEST MUSICAL ACT USED IN TRANSFORMERS BRANDED PRODUCTION (REAL-LIFE HUMANS).
• This is the first time Hasbro is calling on their fans to induct real people into the Hall of Fame as a Fans' Choice inductee.

• The Favorite Character category functions just like the general Fans' Choice category did for the past 6 years, letting fans nominate whichever Transformers characters they'd like to see inducted that have not already been inducted. However, Combiners will not be considered for this category due to the Best Combiner category.

• No characters or people who have already been inducted will be considered for nomination. A list of inducted characters can be found (in the discussion threads below). Please note that for the Musical Act category, this includes Stan Bush.
We here at TFW2005 have started 3 threads for initial feedback. We don't have a lot of time, so please sound off with your suggestions for the poll by Thursday 4/16/15 at the links below. We will then create 3 polls, one for each category, and allow you guys to vote. The top 3 from each will be submitted to Hasbro on behalf of the TFW2005 community.

So, first things first, sound off with your suggestions here:

Favorite Character Suggestion Thread
Best Combiner Suggestion Thread
Best Musical Act Suggestion Thread.

Then check back on Thursday and cast your official vote!

oldsnakebat During the Joecon 2015 Collectors Club Roundtable (run by the same folks as Botcon), they mentioned a new addition to their club offerings. They will be releasing Transformers Prime Soundwave repainted as a Stealth B.A.T. (Battle Android Trooper). B.A.T.s are robot, Terminator like troops controlled by Cobra in the G.I. Joe lore.

They will also be offering an "Old Snake" version of Cobra Commander, as seen in the Transformers episode "Only Human".This goes along with their previously seen Marissa Fairborn and Afterburner, using a G.I. Joe figure mold and non-transforming G.I. Joe vehicle.
