Darn, $120 is good on an Abominus, almost as good as the complete one I had for sale for $100, lol. Fran nailed it on the head, it really is a good laid back time because it is mostly all collectors and friends getting together at a place that just happens to be a convention. Thanks again Fran and company!

TBH, to me this is more like a family get together. The deals are so good, it's like 1 friend to another.
Sure there is the occasional dealer who is asking for eBay prices, but as long as you know who to avoid, who won't negotiate, you can get great deals. Like I said, I saw a complete Abominus minty mint for like $120.

I had a great time at NJCC this weekend. There are so many people I need to thank for helping out, but most of all to the awesome dealers and fans that showed up in force to make this show a true collector community event.
All of the dealers at the show are collectors and it makes for a great relationship with the fans that come out to the show. It reflects mostly in the great deals that can be had, and the diversity of product that shows up each time around.
Looking forward to the April show and we will do our best to improve and make the show better each time around for the fans.
Thank You!

Had a fun time visiting your great city, was nice to see a lot of familiar faces at the show and catch up with some old friends that I hadn't seen in over 5 years. All the best guys!

Yes yes some of the dealers are collectors, yes I could start up my own show Lol, you like some other people miss thebpointbas well as the fact that I'm giving an opinion about the show. Seem a lot of you have a sorry spot non your ass and can't take criticism even though its not directed to you personally, hell I'm not even trying to tell Fran my opinion. All I'm doing is stating something about the show that I personally didn't like. Maybe some of you are used to only hearing what you want to hear, but this is a message board where peoples views and opinions will be posted.

Tho I was not able to make it to this show this pass Sunday. I have been to main of the other NJCC show events. As the day goes on Fran has to draw 2 or more tickets to get a winner.I believe the record is 5 numbers before a winner was found. I have been to every other show and have never won a door prize. I have even bought more tickets and still no luck. I'm not sure what happen this pass Sunday, if our upset that dealers or if it was the same dealer. I could understand if the dealer walked up claimed their prized, walked back to their table and put it up for sale, but I have seen someone win a door prize and turn to a dealer standing next Fran, and say, Hey u want to buy this, Cause it was the my little pony door prize or it was the joe exclusive and that person was a die hard transformer fan.
Here an idea if your unhappy that Fran lets his dealer buy tickets for the door prize. Then start up your own show, and u can tell the dealers that they can not win door prizes.
By the way most of the dealers Fran gets for his shows are collectors, and have their own private collections. For some it how they pay for their collection and for others it is how they make money when their regular job is slow. If i had to guess 8 of 10 of his dealers are collector.

Best part of the show was the four dealers that came over to me and said some variation of "thank God the cheapest MP Soundwave finally sold!!!"

No one ever said there was a conspiracy and I never said only vendors won, maybe re read my post and get back to me, thanks.

Thanks bud!
BTW, this is the link to what the custom should look like done: (assuming I can paint. I have cut and fixed stuff up before, just never painted!)

Enjoy that Jazz! I look forward to seeing that Reflector you were telling me about!

Another good show.
The G1 stuff was really good this year, and reasonably priced. When people are selling complete Computrons for around $100, you know it's good. I didn't really have the funds I normally do, or I would have come home with 5 or so headmasters. Having said that, I almost finished my animated collection. I couldn't find Blackout. So that was good. I also landed a RTS Jazz for $5. I need 1 more to be able to make the Reflector custom I have been meaning to make.
As for the Raffle. I actually lost my ticket. My number was 8691 which I had memorized, but my ticket must of fallen from my pants when I took out my phone. 8692 got called and won. It would have sucked if they called 8691 and was saying, I swear I had it, but lost it! Good stuff this year to raffle off. I don't mind the vendors won at all. It's a raffle, not like the fix was in. Also, keep in mind people the vendors are regular people like you and me. Not big stores (in 90% of the cases). So stop with the jealousy on them winning.
There is one thing I definitely learned at this NJCC. BY NO MEANS SHOULD YOU EVER EAT AT THE RESTAURANT THERE. The food is good, but the service is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. We were there for literally 2 hours or so, if not longer. Just for food! Horrible!
NYFUNNY07
Be thankful they had them. Here is a idea, buy MORE raffle tickets, better your odds and you will have a better chance at winning. The vendors who Won, CONGRATS!!! They BOUGHT a lot (and I saw them sticking out of their hands and pockets and where ever they could stick them). Keep in mind a lot of people left early so Fran had to call out new numbers so that gave people better chances also.
Also, there weren’t only vendors who won, There were dads and mom’s (who couldn’t find their way to the mic where Fran was standing, funny as hell) who had tickets and won for their kids or the teenager with his girlfriend who almost missed getting what he won it if it wasn’t for his girlfriend to tell him to stop looking at the GRIMLOCK he just bought and check his number.
Also, some of the the people (non vendors) who won that either didn’t collect GI Joe or were looking for some quick $$ were selling them as soon as they got them…To Vendors!!!!
When it comes down to it, Buy More tickets and better your odds, NUFF SAID! As for leaving a “bad taste” well, go brush your teeth and stop being haters.
This was a cool thing, don’t dirty it up with petty bull and conspiracy theories.
Fran, As always great show, Kevin great customs. Me and the fellow non haters look forward to the next one.

Had a great time at the show as always. Thanks Fran and everyone else who makes the show great!!

This was a nice con. I did not know you could buy more raffle tickets. I didn't see a sign saying you could. To my surprise I only saw the vendors with their strips of tickets while most visitors only had one. I don't mind the vendors participating but would've been more fair if everyone could only get one ticket.
Jersey_Steel
Your obviously missing the point, but it doesn't matter at this point. There were plenty of other upset people there at the convention, everyone waiting in excitement for the raffle would just say another vendor? Or this vendor again? Its just bad taste overall, have a separate vendor raffle.
Orodruin
I had a great time at the show. Lots of good people there, finally sold a bunch of my 3A stuff, all in all it was a blast.
Yeah, it's really an upper hand. Some of us are there selling our personal collections as supplemental income to help us get by when work is slow, you think it's just free cash we're going to throw into a lottery with very little chance of winning?
If you're that upset that a dealer won a COMPLETELY RANDOM RAFFLE then next time just buy up all the tickets yourself, and you're set.
DethPike
Well… state and government employees CAN play the lottery. The limitations are age (I think you have to be 18) and the people who WORK for the lottery and their families are normally ineligible.
But, your example would make sense – IF Fran and/or any of his employees had won. To my knowledge, they do not participate.
Jersey_Steel
Sure dealers had to pay for their tables and buy tickets. But considering the dealers are there to.sell and make money its not the same as someone going g there to buy merch. Hell being a vendor gives you the upper hand because as you sell stuff you can just go and buy more tickets. If dealers want door prizes, they should have their own special drawing and leave the event door prizes to the people who attend the show. Again the idea of a vendor winning door prizes and in some cases multiple door prizes makes it feel rigged and no I'm not saying it was, I'm just saying it doesn't feel right.
Imagine if the state government was able to buy lottery tickets and won, you can't tell me that wouldn't leave a bad taste in your mouth.
DethPike
I disagree with this as well – it'd be different if all of the tickets were free. Then, if a dealer won, it might be "dirty". BUT – they were only free to people who attended the show, dealers had to buy them. Sure, attendees paid to get in – but dealers paid for their tables, and had to buy tickets on top of that. So it's not like the dealers got any special consideration. And attendees could also purchase extra tickets to win, just like the dealers. It's an even playing field.
ALSO – consider how many times Fran had to call a new number because the number he had drawn belonged to someone who had already LEFT. If that person had stuck around, after getting their free ticket, they WOULD have won a prize. Instead, in some cases, Fran had to call two or three numbers and THEN finally someone won, perhaps a dealer.
The people who are there ALL DAY just have better odds of winning. And attendees are welcome to stay all day too, not just the dealers. So that's where the advantage is. It's not like attendees got robbed – the people who are there ALL DAY, for EVERY drawing, just have an advantage. The attendee that stays there all day just like the dealers do have the same odds of winning as anyone else.
The door prizes this time were especially epic! If you wanted a decent chance to win you needed to get there early, maybe buy lots of extra tickets, and then stay all day long. That's just how it was gonna be.
