Best guess so far is G2 Cindersaur, ie: the G2 Firecon that didn't exist until now.

That's... still putrid. He looks like a Constructicon trying to put on a Barney costume.

And I still have no clue who it is and the Megatron helmet is not helping, it's far too iconic to repaint. Didn't we go over this with RiD Bludgeon?

yep.....definitely not Grimlock. I'm baffled by the choice here, whatever it is. I think they could have used another recognizable G2 figure. In my opinion, this will be a low point of the otherwise pretty strong set.

Again, the prevailing opinion is Cindersaur. The other two Firecons were released in G2, and they shared green and purple colours, with a third colour in translucent plastic.

This guy has the bright green and purple secondary/tertiary colours, and has a good amount of translucent blue.

I'm not really a fan of the mold, but that color scheme is amazing. In the first thread, I was kind of on the fence about it, but seeing the bot mode has me sold. I love it no matter what character it is.

So much for my thoughts that it might be G2 Motormaster. Right colors, completely wrong placement.

I have become less and less excited about this year's Botcon toys. I think it's just an off year for me as far as Botcon goes. I'm still buying them and appreciate the effort put into them, just not as excited.

Okay, so let's follow some logic here... I think I know what's going on.

The original teaser for this year was "Next year, at Botcon 2010, the Transformers will revisit a generation many thought was lost and a battle for the future will begin."

So let's see what we have here. Late Euro G1 Transformers, normal and Action Masters alike, lost G2 characters, especially if the Double Punch rumor pans out. A suspected lost Firecon. Some random generics, and the "wild card" as he's described, Sky-byte. Well for most of these toys, the future was 1993, the beginning of G2 and the resurgence of Transformers as a brand. We really could be witnessing G 1.5 here, the story in the lost time between G1 and G2. We know Spark, Clench, and Rapido survived to fight on in G2, and Breakdown would reappear in the far future, but if the story tells of a battle through time and space, where Sky-byte is separated from his Sharkticon troops, G2 Cindersaur is killed before being able to join his bothers, and Scorch and the Actionmasters fade in the the background... it could bring it all around quite well.

Cindersaur obviously will die because his fire comes out the wrong end.

This is a very sound conclusion. And I love the colors on this toy. Two please.

What about a shattered glass beast wars megaton?

Well... that doesn't seem quite possible due to the 'Con symbol on it.

If it wasn't for the G2 Decepticon logo on his leg then I'd still suggest that he looks more like Playskool Beast-Bot Dinosaur or the Mc Donalds 'Transmetal 1' Dinobot.

Especially with a red Scorponok rumored as well.

But I suppose he's not completely Unlike a Firecon in someways. but not as good of a fit as say Weirdwolf was.

I'd find it very hard not to think of him as an an alternative Dinobot though... what he might have looked like as a Transmetal (sort of complements one of the Transmetal Rhinoxs in a way too as they are similar colors).

I'd still rather like a Helicopter Waspinator (Cybertron Buzzsaw recolor) though regardless of where that might fit story wise.

Wow I love me some G2 novelty colorations, but man c'mon.

I love the translucent blue plastic with red paint, but when you mix it with that solid blue plastic with red paint it doesn't jive so well.

They should have made it all one or the other the blue parts.

Aside from that it looks like Jurassic Park Chaos Effect dinos.

i want to say that the figure looks horrible but i LOVE IT!!! theres just some thing about that figure i cant put my finger on. cant wait to get it.

Okay. I do still believe that a dinosaur head makes a stupid looking hand. That said, I love this color scheme. I would pick it up if I saw it in a store.... Or by the side of the road...

The colours clash badly on this figure. They should have done a G2 Grimlock homage - not this mess... *shakes head*

If this is G2 Cindersaur, I think they could have used a couple of different molds that would have looked a little closer to his original self than Megatron. Of course they're both basics molds, but Wreckloose or Undermine from Cybertron would have fit in better with the other Firecons.

I like it. Something about that crazy color combination just does it for me.

WOW, I looked at the thumbnail and thought "that's definitely G2" and then I looked at the full size and thought "ouch, that is pretty bad."

They didn't want to do Scout sized toys.

Of course, they didn't have to do Cindersaur either and gone with a mold that more suited someone else.


I would have looked at this as "we want to use the BW10th Megatron mold, what character would best suit it" rather than "we want to do a new toy for Cindersaur, which mold would best suit him".

Looks like a decepticon fruit basket...but in a good way.

Those colors are very sharp. I love this for how kooky it is.

That's so fruity I love it. The translucent plastic is a surprise.

The more I think about it, the more I hope this is indeed Cindersaur! Not only has the character grown on me in recent years, but it'll also be fun having a Firecon toy that doesn't suck!

Can't let one fan have TOO much canon attached to them!

Of course, if "Susan" had taken off, I would have a different opinion on the matter.

That is, without a doubt, one of the most outstanding paint jobs I've ever seen one a figure. It's almost ice personified! I'm really looking forward to this one!
