When TOMY projected a silhouette of MP SOUNDWAVE on the screen, a silhouette of some SHOCKWAVE was projected by screen.
Because this is direction to surprise the people of the meeting place, it is a fake. However, I yearn for MP SHOCKWAVE.

In Masterpiece Red Alert, an around the shoulders and a bonnet have a unique shape.

Red Alert doesn't look half bad, and neither does the interior for the vehicle mode either, especially for what I'm guessing will be the smallest MP toys yet.

I can't believe how stoked I am for these guys!

I really love that they made those subtle differences for alert. It really helps to set them apart while keeping the same basic mold.

Thank you for the video! Oh man, I absolutely love how the multiple cassettes store and appear in Soundwave's tape deck. I had to do a double take when it looked like Rumble/Frenzy materialized in the window when he took Laserbeak out!

Masterpiece Laserbeak puts a camera on the head.

SOUNDWAVE has a function to push in front of a cassette in the chest.

Only just now realized why we recently got a reissue G1 Sideswipe.

Also, "character with a car motif" gives me hope we're indeed getting Ultra Magnus, the car trailer, pretty soonish.

Thanx for the video. I couldn't understand a lick of it but I can say this; Those Takara employees love their job. It is nice to see the designers/staff having as much fun as the toy as their intended audience will.


MASTERPIECE- The toys line the grew up with the G1ers.

The chest mechanism that pops another cassette to the front is pretty bad ass. And towards the end of the video is that a colored Frenzy (red and black) prototype? Are there any pictures of that?

Any confirmation on rubber tyres for Side Swipe? Still gutted there's no interior details. After what they could pull off with, say, Binal-tech Jazz or the Alternaties this seems like a step backwards in that regard wich is a shame for such a flagship line.

Considering the robot modes of most bin/alts, I'm happy they haven't focused on interior car details. That would require a lot of empty space within the car, which would give them less room to store robot parts. Now we can get very G1 accurate robots instead of "cool car that is also a robot which vaguely resembles a familiar character".

I am glad I read that the MP Shockwave siloutte was a joke and wasn't teased with that and later had it revealed to me as a joke.
I would have died from a broken heart.

From what we are told, it's a joke from Takara. I wonder if there's a video with subtitles?? That way we can know wtf is going on, lol.

Although I believe he'll eventually be made, it's amazing how silly people were in actually thinking that early Soundwave-tease-silhouette was actually Shockwave

It did kinda look like Shockwave, I didn't think that conjecture was silly at all. I mean, it was a silhouette. Lots of ways to interpret it. Plenty of people thought it was Sunstreaker, who looks a lot less like Soundwave than Shockwave does. And there's nothing wrong with that- that's the point of a tease. Get people talking, then reveal.

BTW- third parties, that's the part you're missing. The reveal. It doesn't go tease, many months of silence, reveal. It goes tease.. reveal. There's only so long the ADD kids can keep talking about something. If you can't do that, skip the tease.

Anyway I'm inclined to agree that it was a joke, but a joke that says "okay, okay, we hear you. Shockwave."

They gotta do it now. I know there's a lot of people who REALLY want an MP Shockwave, myself included. For them to just go AAAND HERE'S MP SHOCKWAVE!

Pretty amazing tape mechanism in Soundwave. So they're rounding the corner now with the new Prime, Soundwave and Sideswipe.... and we still havent seen the new Prime here in the states. I hope Hasbro makes these available here quickly. I want Prime first though...that Soundwave...Wow nice. I'll take either.

Well, I was just talking in general; I don't post in the speculation topics but I do read them. People just take everything too seriously and argue over nonsense if you ask me.

Loved the joke. Thought it was funny. Plus, we at least know now that they do talk about Shockwave amongst each other. I think he will be made sooner rather then later.

That's my point, they're focusing on MP 12, 13, and 14 right now and by showing a silhouette of Shockwave on the monitor as a joke, I can already tell people in the fandom will take it as a "hint" that he's next and will just keep on being disappointed by every MP release until they make Shokwave. Why do people put themselves through that?

I don't necessarily expect him to be next, nor have I been disappointed by every MP release that isn't Shockwave. I would just like to take this as a sign that it'll happen eventually.

My point was that it would be disappointing if they showed this and then never made him, though I'm suspecting that won't be the case.

I think there's a somewhat high possibility we'll see an MP Shockwave sometime in the future; he's one of the "big four" Decepticons along with Megs, Screamer, and Soundwave. It's not like he's an obscure nobody or something, and Takara must know that there's interest.

That shockwave thing was a joke. When the soundwave silhouette was revealed a lot of the initial guesses were shockwave. The silhouette in the pic was made to look somewhat like shockwave by being the back view if soundwave.

Its a joke but I bet we get MP shockwave well before MP 20.
